Thanks woodstock. Got a BFP on Tues night, went to doc yest and she said it was very faint so she needed another sample to be sure. Went home and got another BFP. Dropped in another sample this morning so waiting for her to ring me with result but I feel more at ease now after reading that doctors tests aren't as sensitive.

Thanks woodstock. it was great to read your info...I still am looking for advice and opinions from people though.

1. I got my BFP last Wednesday with First Response. I was then 15 days post ovulation. I have my gp appointment on Monday and I will then be 20dpo. At what stage can they detect the pregnancy with their tests?

2. I have Quinn essential starter insurance, which is very basic. It does say about covering p/sp for up to 3 days but only up to €400 and the Coombe is over €700 a night! I am seriously tempted to go public. If I go public, I don't have to pay any aspect of the care or scans etc., is that right? If anyone has the experience of public in either Holles St or The Coombe, I would love to hear their experience and advice. I am totally confused trying to decide. The Holles St website says they don't do 3d or 4d scans and can't tell gender. That is slightly putting me off and seems a bit strange to me that they can't even do 3d scans. If I go public and decide to have an early scan done privately, where would it be done, in the same hospital or in a private clinic? Would it need a referral letter?

3. I have loads of twinges in my tummy. One lot of pain is due to excess gas I think. It is colicky. Another is like af pain which has been coming and going since I ovulated. Another is like the uterus stretching. This evening my right loin/side area is aching on and off, as is my back. Could I have a urinary infection already? Is all of this pain normal? I know some of it is. No bleeding at all. I hate the idea of waiting til 16 weeks for a scan. I have epilepsy and take tablets for that too, so would be anxious to be scanned at 10-12 weeks as well.

Hope ye can help with my questions and worries. Thanks a mil.
