I'm thinking of getting a curry tonight - just because I can't get out to do much today! Apparently there is no evidence to say curries work, but I'm trying it anyway!

well girls,
god its quiet here,where are all the babies. congrats to those who have gone. so i'm on the raspberry leaf tea and i bought 3 fresh pineapples today which i'm going to tuck into ltr.not all 3 together though ;). my friend swears by the pineapples for bringing on baby.
feeling quite agitated now and bored waiting around. my house is sooooo clean you'd swear i had a case of ocd.

Hi Ladies,

Sorry to hear so many of you are waiting in frustration... I am happy to wait a while as I have a rotten cold at the min which is stopping me being able to breathe at night so sleep has been non existent this week (that might be my cumoppons(?sp?) after a sleep filled pregnancy :o0

I'd be afraid if I went now I wouldnt have the energy to push out a baby! Hopefully it'll clear soon and I'll be back to breathing properly again. Anyone know if its ok to use Olbus oil in hot water and inhale the steam? I know Vicks is a no-no....

Was in for check up yesterday at hosp (38 + 2) and all was grand - it was soooo busy though after the bank holiday weekend! Cons said not to attend GP next week and just keep coming into them so they can check fluid/BP etc - is this the usual run of things? Cons just said to keep making sure i am walking for an hour a day. Head is right down so that's uncomfortable but apparently not yet engaged :duh:

Anyway, enough of my ramblings! Take care ladies x :wv

luckygal- i used vicksvapo rub for a cold back in dec with no problems,i never heard it was a no no? .
i'm 38 + 3 so we r due together. just wondering how do they check that baby has eough fluid? does it have to be by ultrasound? i keep worry that babs doesnt have enough fluid.

i had my gp app yesterday and have midwife next wk in hospital(39 wks) and gp told me to come back to him the wk after that if i havent yet gone myself(i'll be 40 wks then) but i'm thinking whats the point of seeing a gp at 40wks? would hospital app not be more important especially to at least get a date for induction?. all i feel like doing theses days is ranting!!!

The night I went into labour I'd eaten half a pineapple and a really spicy curry :o0

Morning girls, just a quick check in to say Hi, and thanks again for all the good wishes!

We are doing great, she is much improved on the feeding front since we got home and relaxed, and can take our time feeding her when shes hungry and not to a forced schedule like the hospital pushes, and with no one looking over our shoulder and making us fill in a feeding chart! :duh:

I know they want to make sure baby is eating and gaining weight, but give them a chance, they are barely born and only learning to eat for the first time. We are not going to starve her i promise!!! :o0

Anyway, she is feeding much better now on the warmed bottles instead of room temp(or COLD as they were in the hospital!), and we feed her sitting upright, and try not to move her too much for about 30mins after, so all that is helping her keep more bottles down. We still have the odd projectile, but hey, babies puke, its part of the process.

PHN was out yesterday and did all her checks and is happy enough, but does want us to drop in to have her weighed next week, so hopefully the numbers on the scales will be going back up by then.
She checked me over too, and all seems fine, stitches are good apparently, and the piles are my bigger problem.......dont i know it! Ouch! :weep

Stitches are a bit stingy now, but thats to be expected as they tighten, so between that and the piles, sitting and walking are a bit of a challenge, but im taking things in my stride and giving myself time to heal, its only been a few days, so i wont be rushing myself, i aint 21 anymore....thats for sure! :o0

Boobs are like ROCKS today, so im not touching them and hoping it eases soon.

Other than that, all is good! :o)ll

We are absolutely besotted with her, DH is like a different person, he is obsessed with her, ive never seen this side of him at all, and its lovely to watch! :lvs

Anyway, feeding time again so i have to run, will hopefully get some time to check back in again real soon.

Glad to hear you are doing well Boodlesdoodles. I am sure your LO will be fine with the feeding. I think the pressure you get in the hospital can make things very difficult. It was only when I got home with DS that I calmed down and got into a good routine with him!

Glad to hear that the little lady is doing well though, nice to hear how your DH dots on her, daddy's girl already, eh?

No news here. When babs moves it feels very tight, as if there was some last minute growth...

Am afraid curries and pineapple don't make a bit of difference, but I suppose psychologically it feels like you are helping things along! I felt like a tika massala the other night, had a real craving

Been craving doughnuts lately, don't know what is up with that!

Re cold, it is fine to use vicks in hot water to inhale, I had to do that too as had a stinking cold on dd2 when she was due. Downside to having a cold is that Gas & Air is pretty much useless as you can effectively breathe through your nose. Ddidn't make any difference to me as I can't have G&A (makes me sick), but just thought I'd mention...
