Hey Mrs Gina,my parents live really near the Luas too (half way between the Stillorgan and Kilmacud stops). I usually get off at the Stillorgan stop, but once chanced Kilmacud, and was so bewildered as to how to get back on the main road  .I grew up in that area, and I also find the new Dundrum roads/M50 extension really confusing.I still have the mental picture of the old roads in my head.

we're just a couple of minutes walk from the Stillorgan stop :D

We live in a 3 bed semi with garage in a new hosuing estate and i love it -its grand and quiet and the neighbours we have are around our own age and really nice - not that we live in eachothers pockets - i'm not into that!

We have 2 sitting rooms, kitchen dining room, wc, utility and garage(which we will convert when we start a family - fingers crossed) - three bedrooms and 1 bathroom which is nice and big as we had the ensuite and bathroom made into one - we love it and as we both said when we have guests if they cant wait 5/10 mins for a shower in the morning they can go to the nearest B&B!!

Well at present we are living in an end of terrace 3 bed house - its great - I love it except for the fact of being overlooked from behind and next door again not used to it I grew up in the country !
At present we are building in Wexford and we are starting the roof Yiippee of our 5 bed bungalow less than 2 miles from the sea with wonderful views all around cant wait to get working on the inside ! We are keeping my 3 bed house and renting it out !
(Sorry its our 3 bedroom house its just habit cos I had it before I met hubby) !

currently renting but are in the middle of buying a 3 bed semi - 25ish years old, one loo and one downstairs off the kitchen. We have a few plans for it as soon as we move in - like converting the garage and putting a better roof on it. So envious of the girls who have doubled their dosh in the last few years - the talk of negative equity leaves me stone cold, but everyone needs a roof over their head and somewhere to call home!

We live in a 2 bed apartment with a huge living space, decent sized bedrooms and the smallest bathroom in the world. We love it as we are by the sea. Our property has increased in value considerably since we bought 3 years ago, but I still don't see us being able to afford a house here.

Well the celtic tiger is roaring! I'm amazed at all the people with 4 bedrooms and three bathrooms and conservatories and all the rest of it! I know a few people have children, but for the rest it seems like a huge house for two people..... as I said before, you must all be planning big families!
In any case it doesn't reflect the thing you normally hear at all, which is all about young couples who can't afford to get on the property ladder at all.... we must all be fierce rich here on WOL!!!

Ours is a two bed terrace built in 1885, bathroom upstairs (woohoo - most people in the street have 3 beds and a downstairs bathroom), sitting room - dining room joined together, kitchen and conservatory.
Little 40 foot garden out the back and 5ft garden at the front.

We absolutley love our little house - planning on knocking the kitchen wall through and making the conservatory/kitchen one big room.. but not for a while yet.. bit of wedding saving to do first.

As an aside, the decor is not exactly to our taste, the woman who lived here before us only moved because she was starting to find it hard getting up the stairs (At 86!!! ) and she'd lived in the house for 62 years..She's an amazing woman..

We would be far from rich - we're living in a 4 bed in the sticks!!!!!!!!!! We were very lucky to have bought the show house so we didn't have to get much but it's still money! Have never been happier and please god in time we'll fill the other 3 "spare" rooms!!!!

I don't think its that we're all rich, we seriously struggled to get our first house, the first time buyers grant had just been scrapped and we borrowed from everywhere to get the house we're in now. But we've both since been promoted and are used to paying the mortgage and saving, and our house has increased massively in the time we've had it. The first house is definately the hardest, it wasn't somewhere we particularly wanted to live but it was what we could afford and we love it now.

I have alot of friends who are giving out that they can't afford a house, but these same people haven't a penny saved, and want to live in very expensive areas.

God may have created man before woman, but there is always a rough draft before the masterpiece

We're not rich !!! but have a 4 bed semi in the country, its 2½ years old we moved into it from new and there is still plenty of bits and pieces to do to it!

Haven't thought about having a big family(yet), we're very happy in our 4 bed semi - plenty of room for when our friends and family come to visit :D

Not us, we have had to work so hard over the past 6 years, first saving, and then just to pay the mortgage. We don't have much of a social life, tend to spend every weekend sitiing in watching tv with a bottle of wine. I can't go spending money on clothes ect every month (even though I really would and could do with it  ). Our only extravagance in the year is a holiday (which I book on the net to save bobs  ), so although we have a big house, we are not rich, and don't intend having a big family, we will move some day, and a 3 bedroom house would suit me just fine (less cleaning )

didn't mean to sound like i was begruding anybody their house! of course it is lovely to have a big house... i'm just thinking that my parents generation (for the most part I suppose) would never have been able afford that kind of house at our age(s). Even with saving and borrowing and anything else, it just wouldn't have been possible. Its nice to have a big house if you can afford it, but on the other hand I don't think you should be bleeding your bank account dry to get one. Which I'm sure most of the sensible people on here are not doing
