What's your unpopular opinion

Agree with ShadowHaven - (nearly quoted you)

If people keep quoting/attacking people, then there will be less posters expressing unpopular opinions, no??

For me, its interesting to see the varying opinions people hold!

It's a lot more other things also, besides unpopular. Why not quote it? I don't get your point. It shouldn't be quoted because that's not 'fair'? Honestly there is no charter that states - here's a free pass, to hell with humanity and decency - do your worst.

if she was ashamed of what she had written insofar as she felt the need to delete it she shouldn't have written it.

Exactly. However, if everyone posts their opinions and then deletes them before we all get a chance to read, how are we supposed to see these varying opinions? Does not compute. If someone's brave enough to post something like this, they should be brave enough to leave it here long enough for it to be seen.

I'm not deleting it. Report me.

ETA I use the word 'brave' loosely. And I didn't attack anyone.

And while we're on the subject of tv shows and unpopular opinions... Friends was a terrible terrible show and had no business lasting for 10 seasons. It wasn't the worst at the beginning but then it went on for WAY too long, churning out the same one-dimensional characters and repetitive plot-lines, case in point, all but one season ended with a Ross and Rachel cliffhanger. :action34

Mary McAleese did not help heal the rift between England and Ireland by having The Queen of England round for tea and buns. The ordinary people in both countries have been getting on with it between themselves for years. That "wow" comment on the her majesty's cupla focail was toe-curlingly embarrassing.

Couldn't agree more. I did get a tear in my eye hearing the queen speak Irish, and I thought the applause was nice - but Mary's open-mouthed "WOOOOW" was really cringey.

I'm with Nittygritty here.

If someone's big and brave enough to post a hate-filled bigoted rant anonymously on the internet then they're big and brave enough to leave it there.

Also, I think people are confusing there being a thread about unpopular opinions meaning no one can comment on how awful your opinions are. Some people were clearly delighted to finally have a platform to spout their hate-filled thoughts and are now somehow offended to be pulled up on it. Bollocks to that. If you're willing to post your sick thoughts, regardless of the name of the thread, then you need to be willing to take the stick that goes with it.

I agree though that cabbagehead got a raw deal. I thought her post was horrible, but no more horrible than many many others on this thread which weren't questioned.

A thread like this is great for seeing the real face of some people, the mask slips and we see what people are really like.
