Would you cancel wedding if H2B cheated on his stag?

Following on from another thread...

Just wondering what you would do if your H2B cheated on you on his stag and you found out about it. Would you cancel the wedding or would you pass it off as one last fling and get on with it?

I personally think that I would cancel the wedding. I don't think I could forgive or forget. I would be devastated and heartbroken but I don't think I could start married life knowing that he had been with someone else. I don't think I could entertain the "I was so drunk" excuse either.

Good question! I'd cancel the wedding. Cheating is cheating no matter what way you look at it.

I would postpone the wedding, at the very least. I really can't say whether I could forgive him or not. The fear that it was the looming wedding and cementing of our commitment being the thing that drove him to it. Was it last minute jitters.. or what. I really think it would a long road to relationship recovery and no guarantees we'd get there. There are NO excuses for cheating.

I would cancel the wedding - there is no coming back from that for me regardless! not saying that I don't think any relationship can't recover from cheating but I know that mine wouldn't as we trust each other fully so my trust would be fully and completely destroyed and to me, it would like he was a completely different person than I thought if that makes sense.

I'd cancel the wedding and leave H2B. I could never commit to a life with someone who'd cheated on me at such a committed stage in our relationship. I'd never trust him again I'd say. If it happened at the start, when we were casually dating and not quite officially a couple I think I'd be more understanding but not now.

no question about it, cancel the wedding! you would not want that hanging over you for the rest of your life, wondering and worrying every night he was out, personally it would destroy me and eat me up so i would owe it to myself to walk away.

I've been cheated on in the past after a serious 8 year relationship and i walked away, hardest thing i ever did but looking back now i can see it was a lucky escape and these things happen for a reason

Don't think so but if you were in Isreal you might still be able to "have relations" with him for a few hours after! :o0

Yes, the trust would be gone. Like you Eleanor Rigby, I'd be more forgiving if it happened early on but no way when your wedding is coming up, what an awful start to married life. People I know were at a wedding a couple of years and there was no sign of the bride at the reception, they found out later that she had cheated on her hen, decided she better not marry the groom about a week before the wedding but her future parents' in law pressured her into going through with it. Apparently there was tears on the altar and all and then she just stayed in her room for the whole reception. It was all annulled shortly afterwards. That's what I heard anyway, could all be just conjecture, don't want to say any of it is for definite because Ireland's a small country and would hate to upset anyone. Sickening story, I feel terrible for both bride and groom in that situation but, jeepers, deciding to call off your significantly lavish affair a week beforehand??? What a total MESS! Maybe no-one quote me on this please, feel like a big gossip-y gossip-face so might delete it later.

I know someone who found out, about a week before the wedding, that her H2B had slept with her chiefie about a month previous. She said that she couldn't bear to cancel with a week to go so she went ahead... even kept the bridesmaids and buried her head, ignored the whole thing!! They split up a few months later! Took her a while to get over that. Apparently some of her older relatives, insensitively informed her, that she needed to return the wedding presents!! :ooh

Anyway, I would definitely cancel the wedding. The shame would make me hide away for a long time but I couldn't marry him. A stag do is no excuse. In fact, it would be at a time when I would expect him to love me the most. I'd be heartbroken... can't think about it!
