Pain between shoulder blades???

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has suffered with this?
I used to get it every now and again but lately it's every night, it generally comes on me in the middle of the night and it's so sore and frustrating, can't get comfortable in bed and it's keeping me awake.

Any advice?

Are you stressed or anything? A lot of people carry stress in their backs. Have you ever tried acupuncture? I have a recurring pain in my shoulder blade and found it very good.

Stress could be one factor the other could be your chest. Are you asthmatic/suffer from chest infections? I get a ferocious pain out my back between my shoulder blades when I've a chest infection.

Is it definitely your back, or do you feel sometimes it's in your chest so deep that it's hard to tell if it's your back or your chest?

You could have a point, sometimes i feel as if i have to breathe really deeply to get a breath if you get me?
DS is at the docs next week so think i'll make an app for myself too and see what she says.

The reason I ask is that I had this before a few years ago, only sometimes I'd think it was my back, and sometimes it felt like it was so deep in my chest I couldn't make out if it was my chest or my back. I went to the Dr and he said it was costochondritis, cleared up with some antibiotics. It's an inflammation of the intercostal muscles it's not serious.

Could also be gallstones. Do you have any other symptoms? Do you feel nauseous? Have you noticed it seems to get worse if you eat certain foods (usually greasy, spicy ones)? What seems to abate the pain?

Don't have any other symptoms at all, it seems to come on mostly during the night or sometimes late in the evening before bedtime. I used to get it every now and again but lately it's every night O:|

Did you experience this before you were pregnant/had your baby?

The reason I ask is, I suffered really badly durng my second pregnancy, was getting sick and nearly crying with the pain.

It emerged it was gallstones. Seeminlgy you can have them for years and they may never affect you, but getting pregnant moves everything around and then they can become a painful problem.

I suffered late at night too and especially if I ate any minced meat based dishes???

Hope you get it sorted.

Yeah i had it before i got pregnant again not as frequent.
It doesn't necessarily be paining me when i breathe but when i'm awake with it during the night sometimes i find i have to breathe really deeply to get a breath.

This might sound silly but have you had your bra size checked lately I used to get a pain in my sholders and I went up a size and the pains stopped.

Lizzy did you happen to have a spinal/epidural when you were having your baba? The reason I ask is that my back was in bits after delivery for months. Like you had a terrible pain at top of my back kind of along bra strap line and use to be particulary bad at night..It use to feel like if I could crack my back pain would go but of course I couldnt crack my back :-8

anyway tried lots of things and got no relief and eventually went to a spinologist guy who was amazing..Told me I had 4 vertrabray out of allignment ( had damaged my back in car accident couple of year before getting pg) but he said alot of the damage was from being pg and from spinal..anyway had 2 sessions and the relief was amazing :eek

it was affecting my breathing aswell and after it the I could breath again properly! Might be worth going to someone like this just to see what it is..hope yuo get it sorted I know how bad this kind of pain can be :duh:
