Whoever said there about Rihanna - THANK you. I can't abide her, I just can't. Sulky, talentless, self-entitled little madam. Ooh I'd love to slap the face off her!

Can't listen to David Gray anymore after an ex liked him and used to play his music. Not that I still want the ex, just the music reminds me of what an IDIOT I was back then. I cringe with very real red-cheeked embarrassment every time I hear any of his music. God Almighty I was a fool. Oh my GOD I'm so embarrassed. How was I with him? HOW?!

*Runs off to scour self in the shower even thinking about it*

Smiley, you've just stirred up a memory for me with the David Gray thing. I was going out with a guy when that Noah and the Whale song Five Years Time was a big hit and I CRINGE at some of my pathetic daydreams set to that song which I indulged in for a whole summer. I saw him the other evening when I was out for a walk with DH and I just realised how much energy I invested in that pointless relationship and how much better my life is now.

Oh my God, no way! You saw him?! Did he see you? What did you say?

Oh God if I say that guy now, I don't know what I'd do. Probably just open my mouth and shriek in his face 'Can you believe I was WITH you?! CAN YOU?'

Oh I shudder at the memory of him. And like yourself I've realised how much better my life is now. Whole years can go by without thinking of that time in my life but then I'll hear a David Gray song in a shop or something and I'll be hit full force in the face with a memory of me being a TOOL. Crying over this guy. Oh God, oh I'm having a moment....Mother of Divine it was hideous. HIDEOUS!

Smiley, he actually lives near us! But I rarely, if ever, see him, like I never bump into him looking a mess on a Sunday morning in the shop getting the papers or that. I'd see him maybe once every six months, even then its usually passing by in the car. I don't ever want to talk to him again, he was a total a**hole at the end. But I can actually laugh about the whole thing now, what a difference four years makes!

I agree wholeheartedly. I once voiced my opinion back in college not knowing that one of the guys in my group was a diehard REM fan. He freaked out and started a really childish argument.

REM are so depressing. Why does the lead singer wear a stripe of paint on his face? FFS

Agree-but love her songs.

Tracy Chapman - chap/man indeed - I don't get her popularity at all.
