Thread for TTCers with Long Cycles

Postby Mrs Big » Tue Feb 10, 2022 2:10 pm

Hi All

I am on cd 23 and havent ovulated yet so it looks like It will be another 38 day cycle for me..... It feels like forever.

Just wondering is there anyone else out there with long cycles? or TTC success stories I am worried that by the time I do ovulate the egg is of lesser quality and less likely to take.

Thanks for your help

Hi Mrs Big,

Meet your twin....my last cycle was 39 days and I'm now on CD27 and no OV detected despite testing religiously since CD10 and being €60 less well off this month O:| Its driving me nuts. I don't think it affect the egg or anything (at least I hope not!) but its the not knowing when or if I am OV is the killer for me.

I have been taking EPO since last month but hasn't made a blind bit of difference to anything so I went out and bought Angus Castus yesterday and have started taking that aswell. Both are meant to help with your cycle so fingers crossed. Might be worth giving it a go if you are not taking either of these already. :wv

Oh thank God its not just me!

Havent tried Agnus Cactus yet. Have tried the evening primrose oil and my cycle actually got longer.

Every cycle seems like an eternity to me.

Oh I so know what you mean. When I think back to my clockwork cycles before I went on the pill I could cry but then I had terrible heavy ones etc.

Don't say that about the EPO crikey I hope mine is not longer than last month I'll crack up!! I've stopped taking it now anyway just in case for this month but you can take the Angus Castus all month long so gonna keep going with that.

Hi girls

I had a m/c in September and ever since my cycles have been long. 34/40/34 for the last three months. I've been using OPKs this month and have had a light line since last Tuesday, CD12 and no sign of ov yet. Today is CD19 so will be a long month again.

I just feel that our chances are lessened as we get fewer periods. A 34 day cycle only gives you 10 periods a year. A 40 day one only 9. When said like that it makes me panic!

Sorry to hear abour your m/c Mrs P hope you are ok now :thnk

Were your cycles grand before then? I wonder how long it takes for our bodies after m/c or after being on the pill to get back to normal cycle length or do they ever?

I'm fine now. Thanks for asking. I just want to get pregnant again! It happened really quickly the first time and I can't understand what's up now. The first time we didn't even know anything about OPKs, EWCM etc. We just thought we'd give it a go!

Before it I had 30 day cycles which were like clockwork. If only they'd come back, at least you'd know where you stood.

I had to have two D&Cs and someone said that it can take three months for the lining to build up again. I feel like having a word with my body and saying 'it's been three months, now I'm ready!'

That must be really hard on you Mrs P.

I feel the length of the cycle makes getting Af at the end of it even harder cause the thougths of going back to the start of that long road again are even harder to bear.

Maybe we should start this as the long cycles thread us girlies have to stick together.

Mrs Big I was just thinking that actually that way we can check in on each other, moan and see how each other are doing. Maybe you could edit the title to "Thread for TTCers with long cycles" or something like that?

Hi, i have long cycles too, last two were 44, 38. I started agnus castus in the middle of my last cycle so i'm hoping it will take effect this cycle, i'm on CD5 so still hopeful. It's a pain, i was working out that at 44day cycles i'd only have 8 chances in a year :eek

Welcome Baby4us. Keep us updated on how that goes.

I have fertilaid for men and fertilaid for women ready to use on my next cycle. I ordered it too late to be of any benefit this cycle. Has anyone tried this?

At the moment am just temping. I would be broke if I was buying ovulation tests.
