Lunar cycle and menstrual cycle

Lunar cycle and menstrual cycle

Postby littlemisshopeful » Sat Jan 16, 2022 7:11 pm

I was reading about how the lunar cycle can influence fertility according to what your natal lunar phase was and where you are in your menstrual dydle. Just wondering does anyone know much about this or is it a load of rubbish? For instance I managed to calculate that the moon phase when I was born was a new moon and it claims that if there is a new moon during my fertile days, it can greatly increase chances of ovulation and pregnancy occuring.

Hi there. I always wondered myself as I noticed (in the past anyway) that my cycle always came when there was a full moon. I went out of sync for a while so havent noticed it but years ago I would know when AF would arrive!

Ok. If only my cycle was as regular and as predictable as the lunar cycle. :o0

Right...I really looked into this a few months ago...after about cycle 6 when I was beginning to grasp at anything. I think that there might be something in it if you suffer from irregular periods. Mine aren't too irregular so I didn't put much effort into the whole idea but ...here is the idea behind it...

How to synchronize with nature

* Get at least one hour of bright sunlight a day
* Try to get bright light soon after waking
* Use full spectrum indoor bulbs during the winter months
* Use a light simulation device 15-30 min morning and night (particularly in winter)
* Aim for total darkness at night. Use room darkening shades. Avoid all lights
* On the three days of the full moon, try to bathe yourself in soft light while you sleep. A light from a closet, a 75-100 watt nightlight or even opening your blinds to the street light should do the trick.
* Try to go to sleep with sun and get up with the sun. You might be surprised if you do not use lights or TV, how sleepy you get.
* Make love during the full moon
* Keep sleep and wake times consistent and avoid shift work. If you are tracking ovulation signs, then you should taking your basal body temperature at the same time every morning anyway.

It may work...worth a go...good luck! :wv

There's a huge post on this from a few months ago

*toddles off to find it*

Hmmm my search isn't working for some reason. I even tried finding the word pregnant and it told me that there were no posts so I know it's lying to me :o0 I've logged out and deleted cookies and still nada.

Anyway, it was (I think) started by Fat Frog and it was a full explanation of lunar fertility with a link to a chart outlining times to conceive etc. If your search is working, it would be worth a look if you are interested in it x

Hi Girls

I've read alot about lunar fertility. I was born 2 days after a full moon and I got preg in May 2009 when my normal ov happened around the full moon, unfortunitly I MC, but I def think there is something in it! If any of ye are interested here's a link which will give ye a calendar showing your fertile days based on lunar ovulation.

http://www.astro.com/cgi/genchart.cgi

What you need to do:
You'll see a "Special Charts" link on the page
Click that and select "Lunar phases fertility calendar" from the dropdown (last one in the list)
Click "Click here to show the chart" button
You'll be asked to create an account so do so using the link under "For Guest Users"
Enter in info for date, time and place of birth. If you don't know what time you were born select "unknown" you don't need that bit to know what phase the moon was in.
Click "continue"
You'll then see a calendar showing red lines. These are your lunar fertile days and the one with the thick red line is your lunar ov day. You'll also see symbols above this for male and female (one with the arrow is male, one with the plus is female). This is gender prediction which basically means if you got preg on your lunar ov its telling you whether you'll have a boy or a girl. If you don't see a symbol it means that it was moving from a male sign into a female so it can't tell which you will have. The same happens for men too btw. A man's swimmers are 100% around his birth moon phase, so do one for your DH also. If his lunar fertility is around the time you ov then there is a good chance of getting pregnant then too as he'll have super swimmers!

Libramoon, Thanks for putting the link to that site up. I'd lost the link and couldn't find it through searching like I did last time. I've been looking at the location charts and while on holidays I won't be too far from a fertile area but will be too early. I'm due lunar ov between CD19 & 21 of my cycle this month so as long as I don't have a stupidly long cycle again this month I should ov around the right time. All things are looking good for the bfp I reckon I'm going to get this cycle.
TTC #1 since April 2008. MMC in June 2009
First IVF cycle with Sims Oct/Nov 2011 - 4 follicles, 1 egg, didn't fertilise.
2nd IVF cycle started end Jan 2012, 3 eggs, 1 fertilised, transfer cancelled on the day it was due to take place.
3rd IVF cycle May 2012 with Cube in Prague. 6 eggs, 4 fertilised, 2 transferred, none frozen. BFN
4th IVF cycle July 2012 with Cube in Prague. Hope this is the one as I'm not sure I'm able to take many more of those damn steps.

To get through the hardest journey we need take only one step at a time, but we must keep on stepping.

Hey TTCJan09

This link might explain things a bit more:

http://www.epigee.org/menstruation_lunar_fertility.html

When you say it got it right do you mean that the date shown matches your normal menstral ovluation? Thats a very good sign if it does. It means that you could be extra fertile! The one and only time I got preg was when my lunar ovulation dates matched my menstral cycle ovulation date. Unfortunately my pregnancy wasn't successful but FX it works out for you!

Wow, that's so exciting! Could be a lucky month for you so FX! Do you normally have a regular cycle of 28 days or does it vary? The green dot is the full moon, the black one is a new moon.

TTCJan09, here's how you read it:

The calendar starts on September 2010 (see under each section the month and year). This month it's saying that your lunar ov day is the 21st Sept which is today (see the thick red line 2 days after the 19th)!!!!! You're lunar fertility period this month began on the 18th (see small red line going from 18th to 21st). So you need to get cracking missus!!! At the top of the red line you'll see a symbol. The one with a plus in a female sign which means you'll likely conceive a girl his month..

So for next month you're lunar ov falls between the 20th and 21st October, if you conceive that month it will be a boy (see red symbol with an arrow) and so on...

On months like June 2011 where there is no symbol above the red line this means its moving from a female sign into a male sign (or visa versa) so can't tell if you're going to have a boy or a girl...

The yellow dot is the full moon so looking at it I can see you were born 2 days before a full moon so you lunar ov day will always be two days before a full moon... You're def in with a good chance this month so FX!!!!!!!!

Let me know if you've anymore questions!
