The Fantabulous DIY Wedding Thread

Re: The Fantabulous DIY Wedding Thread

Put my bouquets together this weekend, still waiting on the blue crystal pins for mine. Here's one of the Bridesmaids bouquets:

I had some ribbon left over so I made a hair bow clip for our Flowergirl. That ribbon in the middle is the colour of the shoes & wraps I got for the Bridesmaids, pure luck that I had it in my stash.

First time to post so hope I do it right :wv . Im hoping to make a wishing tree as an alternative to a guest book. Has anyone tried this before? I've searched online and can find them to hire in the Uk and US but couldnt find much about them over here. I like the idea of a wishing well either? Any suggestions/ideas?

I was actually really surprised at how real they looked too, I only ordered a bunch of 4 at the start to see what they were like - but I'm delighted with them! At least it's another thing that I can do in advance.

Almost finished my first DIY project for the wedding - our save the dates.

It took me ages to think of something that my OH also liked..then I stumbled across the STD flowchart idea and thought I'd give it a try for myself.

I made the flowchart up in photoshop, printed it out on normal tesco white printer paper, laminated it and cut it down to A5. I then bought cheap white envelopes and printed 'stamp' of sorts on the back. I'll handwrite the addresses on the front.

I'm undecided if I also need to include a slip of paper (maybe a belly band?) in with the save the dates with the names of the people I'm inviting.. otherwise the only place I'll be mentioning the invitee will be on the front of the envelope... what is the usual thing to do?

Thanks a4d2012! they worked out pretty cheap too.. less than 90c per STD (including envelopes, magnet tape and laminating equipment)

I think I'll just go ahead with the names only on the envelope. thanks again!

Just wondering if anyone could help me. I bought a veil but I don't think it's bling enough and would love to add a few bits to it.

Can anyone tell me if they have tried this and let me know what they put on???

I ordered some samples of foam flowers from ebay too. They are lovely and so much cheaper than the real thing.

You could incorporate that photo surely. How about printing that photo out as your invitation mat and putting velum paper with your details on top... you could see the image through it.
