That VHI shower........RAGE!!

Update-

Covered!! Took us 6 hours in total but we did it! When we finally got through to the GP he said that on his own notes that symptoms were presented in August (20th) and didn't note anything about any previous symptoms. So between the GP, the Surgeons secretary, admissions in the hospital and a very helpful woman in VHI, its all covered and above board and surgery going ahead on Tuesday.

Phew! We totally know that this doesn't always happen and we are so very lucky in this instance that the GP, although didn't diagnose probs, only took minimal notes. And we are kind of thankful in a strange sort of way!!

Thanks for all your help :thnk

That's great news! Only reading your post today and you got sorted but I would have advised you to fight them all the way. I got my wisdom teeth removed and had a battle with the insurance company to get them to pay for it. I never had any trouble whatsoever with them until very recently and the dentist x-rayed my mouth and said I needed them removed. The insurance company tried to say that they could have been there for years since I was a teenager so then it would be a pre-existing condition. This is despite the fact that I had no visible wisdom teeth and had no symptoms or problems with them ever until recently. I actually thought I had no wisdom teeth as they had never apperared in my twenties like everyone else. Anyway I contacted my dentist and they couldn't believe the stunt that the insurance company were trying to pull and that in all there years dealing with insurance companies they had never heard anything like it. Well after that I went ballistic with the insurance comapny and they then paid up no problem. As I said to them what's next telling people with cancer that it was 'pre-existing' because it took a while to develop and be diagnosed. We are all paying through the roof for our cover and they are trying to wriggle out of paying any claims that they can.
