Words you have an illogical aversion to

Oh you've all just reminded me of more.

I also hate om nom nom and all it's variations. For f*ck sake, you're not the f*cking cookie monster, STOP IT.

T!ts is a HORRIBLE word, as is t!tties - and the Gok Wan equivalent, 'bangers'. WHAT??!!

Ointment doesn't bother me, but it does when it's pronounced "oinkment".

The word definitely, pronounced as "deff-in-night-ly". O:|

Literally. "She literally exploded." Oh, she did, did she? Spontaneous combustion, was it?

Also there is a word that Jeremy Kyle says regularly but I haven't watched him in a long time and I can't remember what it is but every time he said it I wanted to slap him because he's saying it wrong and it's a very annoying word to begin with.

If only I could remember what it was......

My 18 year old cousin constantly puts up a status on facebook like "That totally awkward moment when...." so it could be anything like "That totally awkward moment when....I forget to set my alarm and I'm late for college" etc . Always used to make me cringe....but it gets worse!! Lately she started doing "Totes awky mo-mo...".

AAAAGGGGHHHHH!!! O:| O:| O:| :duh: :duh: :duh:

Agh, my boss ALWAYS says that. He's only about 10 years older than me!!! Or even worse when I do something really well he calls me "A Little Topper".

Actually it's kinda funny when I think about it :o0

I hate "ah bless", how I don't thump my two sisters when they constantly say that, I'll never know.

My Mum calling Halloween - Hallow Eve. Yes, I know the 31st of October is The Eve of All Hallows, as you tell me every year - but just call it HallowEEN for once pleeeeease!!!

Hubby calls socks - stocks or stockings, apparently it's a northside expression!!! You're not going to the stocks dear, nor do you wear tights that need to be clipped onto knickers - at least I hope not!! :o0

FIL and hubby still saying that things cost pounds, instead of euro. There's a part two to this one, yesterday FIL was telling us how much something cost "It cost ten pound" O:| Ten is multiple, pound is singular you idiot!! Also, how many years ago did we switch from miles to kilometres - will someone tell hubby because he seems to be stuck in the past!!

I also hate 'movies' but worse is when the cinema is referred to as 'the flicks'! ugggghhhh!

Also hate 'dishy' when referring to a man. My aunt used to think she was the same age as me (when clearly there's 15 years in the difference!), and she used to ask myself and my sister about boyfriends etc. asking were they 'dishy'....yuk! You married my uncle for crying out loud, clearly we have very different taste in men!!

Maybe it's his way of breaking it to you gently... But I 'totes' agree. Along with my aforementioned hatred of 'socks' I hate it when anyone says 'I was in me stockin feet' eugh....

Basically. Oh how I hate it.

Also all business speak, particularly when it's written down. As Cabbage said, making nouns or adjectives into verbs such as "operationalize", when you can just use "do".

Child, but only when it's used in a patronising tone, said to someone who doesn't have one or whose child is considered normal, not 'special'. As in, "when you have a child ...", and then continues on in reverent hushed tones. I've got a friend who adopts this special "I'm actually a saint on earth because I have kids" tone when speaking about how motherhood is her one true calling and "what I was meant to do". Drives. Me. Nuts.

Fiance, ugh hated that one too, I used it once and cringed

Wife, I prefer to be known as 'The Wifelette' as wife just seems a bit, well, dull.

All that yoof speak from TOWIE etc. :action34
To get around the Wol Zapper, spell my name as: Pu$$y Galore!
Oh yeah, and I was formerly shumbles!

My hubby (sorry hubby word haters) always calls his one and only sibling - bro! It drives me mad, and he only seem to have started that in the last few years. I've told him he's not a gangster from "da 'hood"......he's a bleedin' Dubliner from the northside!!!
Also my cousin does the cuz thing too, her texts are all in that horrible text speak, and it takes longer to read them because she always seems to come up with new words, and it's a guessing game to read them. :duh:
