those fan programs are a great idea!
Thanks, going abroad so wanted fans for people but everyone does that so I thought I'd do something different I will do - IF I get them finished. Kinda running out of space on them Trying to decide if 6 "leaves" is too much??

Hi Girls I dont know about you but I'm tired trying to find ideas here even the projects i've put up myself, am getting so lost among the 53 pages of posts so I've decided to do a FB page to upload individual ideas so its in a place where everyone can access it, I see other groups on wol doing this in the pregnancy forum so I thought it might be a good way to share ideas in an easy manner. On the FB Page is a link to a DIY blog I'm trying to put together. I've tried to start the blog off myself and have uploaded a few ideas, I hope to update it on a weekly basis myself but was thinking it might be nice to have a blog collaboration of DIY brides I think I can add you as a user and you could upload material yourself directly onto the blog, it would mean you would have more control over your projects and pics, it would also be a better way of brides connecting with the source to ask for advice. I know this may not interest a lot of people probably just the hardcore DIYers but there are some great ideas here and I know that if I had a place I could have got all the how to guides and pics of what to do it would have been a great help to me throughout my wedding planning. So by putting up your ideas, pictures, guides, tips, bargains you would really be helping other brides out I just wanted to organise the projects into sections so that everything relating to that topic can be added to the relevant blog. So if you have any tips/advice/photos etc on the following topics and were prepared to share to other brides drop me a message on FB Topics include: DIY Stationery DIY Wedding Signs DIY Candy Buffet DIY Flowers DIY Seating plans DIY Decor DIY Cakes/ Cupcakes etc DIY Photobooth ideas DIY Dressmaking & Fashion Related items or anything else I haven't thought of. I'll try and put a link up to get you to it, its in its infancy at the moment but I'd love to get a community of DIYers together On the FB page at the moment I've shared a few links to the blog and also to some dIY demos that are going on, its just a place to keep brides informed of all crafty stuff thats going on really ( car boot sales, flea markets, craft classes etc. its really a resource for DIY brides) please join in and like the page and upload announcements of upcoming events. I just want people to find it easier to get information The FB address is, sorry I cant seem to hyperlink it http://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Weddi ... 5648461361this is the blog address http://weddingdivasdiy.wordpress.com/ (its called The Inspired Bride) there is a link from the facebook page to the blog, if that helps Please like it or share it to help spread the word, Thanks a mil Emma

How did you go about choosing the content for the mass booklet? Did you have much input or did the priest give you direction on it? b2bJune2012 wrote:Hey girls,
I'm looking for some mass booklet advice please!!!
I have them all typed up, have made up a wee poem to make them extra personal and have even designed a front and back cover for them!!
Just trying to decide now if I should get someone to print them up for me or should I try and do this myself??!! Anyone who has done it themselves, is it costly, does it take ages for them to print? Does it use up loads of ink?? What paper did you use?
All help greatly appreciated!!

Do you mind me asking, how many people did you invite to the church? I'm trying to figure out how many booklets should be printed, is it one per person or can you expect people to share? candlequeen wrote:b2bJune2012 wrote:Hey girls,

I got a ream of "ordinary" cream A4 paper for the inside, and some thicker paper for the covers. I am planning on printing mine myself - I'm going to print 100. I printed 50 invites and 200 evening invite inserts for my friend before and I didn't use a whole cartridge of black ink - but I've a feeling I might need another cartridge before I'm done. I also need to buy a long reach stapler so all in all, if my estimates come in right, mine will cost: €9 for paper €6 for thicker paper €25 for a new ink cartridge (have one over 3/4 full at the minute) €17 for long reach stapler At a total of €57 to have 100 booklets and covers printed and stapled. If you estimate your costs, compare them to what printing companies charge and you should be able to see what the better option is - I'm doing mine really because I don't know any printing companies locally and I'll need samples beforehand and might have to wait to add readers nearer the time so I wouldn't be able to wait for them. Hope that helped a little bit!

I searched online, on different forums, got alot of help with readings prayers and layout from a wedding book which can be bought in Easons and I can't think of the name of it, a wedding of your own or something like that, it's the main wedding book! I got a copy of a mass leaflet to make sure my layout was gonna be right and also had a few mass booklets at the house for comparison! Anyone coming to our wedding is being invited to the church as we aren't doing any evening invitations. We invited 285, are estimating about 240 to come so will do up about 120-125 booklets, which will be loads, they only end up through around the place at the end!! If you need any help let me know, I have mine all checked and corrected by the priest, so ready to go!!

Thanks so much! I'll check out Easons for that book. If you wouldn't mind, it would be great to see a copy of what you've put together. We're meeting our priest this week to discuss running order, readings and prayers. I'll pm you with my email address. Are you getting your booklets professionally printed or will you do that yourself? b2bJune2012 wrote:I searched online, on different forums, got alot of help with readings prayers and layout from a wedding book which can be bought in Easons and I can't think of the name of it, a wedding of your own or something like that, it's the main wedding book! hey, just seeing all the updates about the mass booklets now, we got our printed last week. it cost €60 to get 95 printed, scored and stapled. really handy cos we did up the template and then the guy in the shop handed me back a pile of booklets ready to go so I was delighted!! Also we priced it with a specialist mass booklet crew and it was costing €140 to print so I just went to our local internet cafe which prints advertising leaflets for local businesses (restaurants, theatre, florists etc) and they quoted a much lower price. they were perfectly done and totally delighted with them!!
Also if anyone is wondering how to get a sketch of the church for the front, we just took a photo of the outside of the church and used computer software (think there is an iphone app for it too) to turn the photo into a sketch.

Finally got around to making my brooch bouquet and did a trial run of my flowergirls wand. I'm pretty happy with them. Hopefully I can recreate the wand on the day. For anyone thinking of making their own brooch bouquet I would highly recommend Kays School of Floristry in Dublin, they were absolutely brilliant.
Pics arent great
Made my unity candle too, I'm not 100% happy with it so might attempt another one. Have yet to make my two taper candles.

A5 booklets are normally made with A4 paper and folded in half Bella Cullen wrote:Finally got around to making my brooch bouquet and did a trial run of my flowergirls wand. Thanks To make the candle I just printed the text onto tissue paper, I find it works better if you iron the tissue paper first. Then I cut away any excess paper and laid it out on the candle, you might need a tiny bit of glue to hold it in place. Cover with a piece of greaseproof paper and gently heat with a heat gun, or a hairdryer works fine too, until the paper has melted into the candle and you can no longer see it IYKWIM. Different candles have different melting points but generally it only takes a couple of minutes. I'm not great at explaining things so hopefully that makes sense

What kinda tissue paper?
I seen a tutorial on youtube and it said to use normal computer paper, but I tried that and it didn't work. I don't wanna give someone €50 to make candles when I can buy the candles for less than €10!
