30 Day Challenge! Feel free to join in :)

Thanks guys - really chuffed alright. Had a slightly dodgy weekend (although won €160 at the races!) food wise, but hopefully fixable during the week!!

Is that really the end of the 30 days?! I presume we'll keep going anyway? I think we've all done pretty well! :o)ll Really enjoy this thread!

I've just realised I've broken into the 120's...well 129.5! Whoo! You guys can definitely get into the 130's this month...or very close! Keep it up!!

This 30 was a bit of a write off for me so I'd certainly like to continue!

Hi girls just found this thread O:| Do you mind if i join in for next month??
Im 5"6 and weighing in at 11st 2lbs at moment.
Started at 11st 9lbs in march and managed to lose 7lbs through calorie control (1200 a day) and exercise (mainly dvds or treadmill) but it all went out the window in april and have been doing very little exercise and just maintaining my weight through diet.
Need to get back on the wagon and would love the support and motivation from this thread.
Would love to be down to 10st by 30th June ( 1st dress fitting) but think thats a bit unrealistic now after this month so im aiming for 10.5 st. Or at the very least to be able to see my waist again :eek

Welcome ONSD!! 16 lbs in nearly 9 weeks is doable - if you're very good, but sure it's only your first fitting so I wouldn't kill yourself over it - maybe aim for a lb a week, that's a good marker...slower you lose it anyway the more likely it is to stay off!! Main point in April to take away is that you didn't put on weight!

Yeah I think we'd all like to keep this thread going...bored in work today...all I want is a bikie!! Trying not to give in!!

Hey Ladies!

ONSD - Welcome welcome!! Great to have you on board!

I'm up for keeping on going...May is going to be a tougher month for me with holidays but that's even more reason to keep accountable!!

My MAY Goals are....

1. Drink minimum 2.5 L of Water every single day.
2. Food - Gonna stick with 1200 as my rule of thumb (give or take 100) and focus this month on consistency.
3. Alcohol - my biggest diet downfall....really aiming to limit drinking to special occasions....
4. Exercise - Finished with yoga for now and back to running...also my holiday involves a rake of walking to it's all good :) 6 day a week is the goal.

Onwards and downwards ;o)

Ok, new month, fresh start! Weighted myself at home this week and it said I was down to 63kg, which is below my goal weight! I'm a bit skeptical though so I'll see on the gym scales.

May goals:

1) Exercise at least 240mins a week (challenge I joined)
2) Start heavy lifting-stronglifts programme next Monday- read about it first!
3) Start moving towards maintenance calories, see how it goes with lifting.
4) Increase protein majorly for lifting. Aim for 100g a day

Goals this month:

1. To obtain the elusive 'goal weight' in WW.
2. Drink more water
3. Finish the couch to 5k and then work on doing 5k as quick as I can (run at least three times a week)
4. To buy myself something nice after all my hard work (obviously at the end of the month!)

Onwards and downwards (on the scale!) :o)ll

Hey girls, how is everyone? Sorry I've been bad for updates here :-8 Everyone sounds like they're doing great, well done SN2013 on reaching your goal O-O

I'm still the same weight, although it seems to fluctuate a lot between different days in the same week, I always weigh myself first thing in the morning, but I find between different days on the same week I can be up or down a couple of pounds :action34 Not sure what's going on with that!! Although I haven't been good with watching my water intake lately, so maybe it is related?

I'm still sticking to the 1200 cals per day but have been a bit slack with the exercise! I've just bought some a home exercise DVD system called Turbofire which I'm going to follow at home on the days I can't / won't go to the gym, started last night as I couldn't face going out with the weather :) The only time I go over the calories is once per week when I have a few drinks but feel I need that or else I'd crack up :-8

I think I am going to take my body measurements tonight so that I can see if I lose any inches rather than pounds this month!

Cocobelles - I haven't gone back to Bikram since, I'm too chicken LOL. The heat is too hardcore for me, thinking of looking for an ashtanga class though as I used to love that.

micls - The challenge sounds like a good idea, I might do the same myself :hyper:

Up a half lb this week - not 100% happy but was expecting it at the same time. I was a bit frivolous at the weekend and last night I had an ex work thing so that's on me today! Oh well! No major plans for the weekend so should be ok. Although am feeling very lethargic this week and no real motivation for exercise. I've been doing my couch25k though so at least that's something!

Hope everyone's doing ok!

Hope everyone's doing well!

Weighed in at the gym yesterday and I'm down to 64.1kg, so a bit over 141lbs :) Given my goal was 140lbs I'm pretty happy with this. I'm not all that bothered about losing the last lb but I do want to build muscle and possible reduce body fat %.

Doing well so far this week (yes it's only Tuesday :D )

Got to the gym yesterday and started the Stronglifts program. It was a little bit of a disaster, the weights are a bit too heavy, but it's something to work on. I also did some HIIT sprints. Amazing how quickly you lose fitness. A few weeks ago I could do 30/30 sprint jog, 8 of them, at 12kmph. Yesterday I got through 6 at 11kmph and had to jog for a while before managing the last 2. I'm trying to work up to 15! Again, something to work on!

I've upped my cals to maintenance (1760) and plan on using my exercise cals as a small deficit, but as I said I'm not so bothered about losing more. I also managed to eat enough protein for the first time yesterday! Got over 100grams which was my aim (120 I think). Brought boiled eggs to school for snacks and some nuts which helped, meant I ate some of my exercise calories but I can work on getting the right balance.

Summary:
Monday:
Protein- 120g
Exercise- 45mins
Cals- 1961
Weight- 64.1kg

Hi girls,
I've just come across this thread (was actually thinking of starting a similar one!). I'm really impressed and slightly intimidated by your dedication!
Anyway, I'm trying to lose some weight in my own way. Just trying to eat less and do more exercise. I've no formal exercise plan just walking and a bit of cycling in the evenings.
I'm trying my best to cut out junk food and not eat (snack!) after dinner. I'm cutting down on carbs and drinking more water.
At the moment I'm 76.5kg and really would like to lose 10kg. So far I've lost 1.5kg but it's very slow going!

I always think if you only do one thing differently that's healthy then you're heading in the right direction!

I get the slow going part, I've lost almost 12 kilos but it took over a year! Little by little though

Thanks Micls. I think I need to set some specific goals and stick to them!
So, I'm going to try for the month of May to:
cycle 5km twice a week
walk 1hour every other day
Drink lots of water - aim for 2lt/day
Limit myself to 2 cups of coffee/day
Not eat junk food
Eat a healthy low carb dinner

Yesterday was a good start for me, I did an hour walk, a 5km cycle and had a salad for dinner. I didn't snack on any junk food but did have a slice of bread with butter :-8
