Wedding Packages . . Do Tell. .Whats in Yours?

I've just started looking into hotels for our wedding reception and would be very intrested to hear what deals and bargains all you wollies have managed to get from your hotels and also any tips on which items to haggle on ie. corkage, evening buffet etc.

Hi MrsG2b.
Ok so from start of day to finish, this is what our packahe includes €55pp
sparkling wine reception (champers for bridal party)
Expresso soups/mini cones (either depending on weather)
Tea/Coffee
Homemade Cookies

wine throughout the meal (2.5 glasses pp)
choice of starter (we've picked both off a la carte)
choice of main (we've picked off a la carte)
Dessert
Tea/Coffee/Mints

Afters food (sand,saus,chix goujons)

Covers on all chairs
Bar extension
complimentary accom for me and H2B for 2 nights
Complimentary accom for night of wedding for both sets of parents.

Think thats it...i asked straight out for stuff, rooms etc, sparkling wine intead of mulled wine, chix goujons in afters food along with other stuff!!

All they can say is no >:o)

That was 55 per head but cos we booked thru the wedding fair we got a 10% discount....happy days :thnk

I am also going to ask them for complimentary drinks during the dinner for the teetotallers, I think its only fair.

Going for my menu tasting in March, first time back at the hotel as we live in UK. Think I need to see if they will offer any more.

From start to finish, here's ours. Wedding is a Thursday. €45 per head.

Champagne on arrival for bridal party with chocolate strawberries
Tea/coffee, sandwiches and biscuits for all guests. Ferrero Rocher too, but we're providing this!

Five course meal, choice on the main course.
Half a bottle of wine per person
Soft drinks from the bar for anyone who doesn't drink wine

Tea/coffee, sausages, sandwiches, vegetable spring rolls for the evening

Sandwiches for the residents' bar

Two parents rooms, complimentary
Bridal suite for two nights, complimentary

Menu tasting for four people

Chair covers

Bar extension

Centrepieces

Cake stand and cake knife

Red carpet

Private pre-reception room with private bar

Use of roof terrace for photographs

Room rate of €75 for a double room, holding two adults, including breakfast.

Thanks Sparkly, I know its a good deal we were so delighted and we love love love the hotel, its the Westwood house in Galway if anyone wants a nosey (Cos I know I would!!!)

I have never been to Galway and always wanted to go - the hotel looks gorgeous....might convince H2B to take me away. Congrats on a fab deal!!! Love the idea of munchies in the residents bar!!

I know it's more pricey than others, but it's where we fell in love with so c'est la vie!

Room rate (€140) is very very pricey though. But it's local enough for family that they can get taxis back and we're providing a list for B&Bs for others travelling from further away. Also giving a voucher for bridal party to go towards their room.
