TOPACIO BRIDES??

Hey Alex2012 - so I picked out my shoes today. They're peep toes and they look gorgeous with the dress. It was as though they were made for each other!! I tried on other peep toes as well as regular full shoes and all the peep toes looked best - the full shoes weren't as dainty. I guess it depends on what you're comfortable with.

Anyway here's a pic of what I chose so hope it helps.

I wore this dress with good ol' M&S cotton undies and my own strapless. Safety pinned the bra at the back to prevent it showing and was fine. back wasn't as low as I imagined when it came down to it. Dress is quite heavy so cotton undies were nice and comfy on the day :-) Had a sexy little set ready for a quick change that night.

As insurance my dress maker put two narrow ribbon straps in under the lace which couldn't be seen. I've weird boobs that can change a cup size in a week so opted for the old reliable bras with the back up straps

I wore pale pink peep toe shoes which complemented the bridesmaids. they just about peeped when I was walking. I'm a real shoe-y so decided to splash out on a pair I loved and would re-wear rather than white ones I knew I wouldn't wear again.

Enjoy the dress... it's a good one!!!

I have a similar novia d art dress, it's the Helen one. Back is pretty much exact same as this one. It's not in till march so haven't seen it fitted to me but I have been thinking of getting cups sewn in. Was talkin to peaches and cream staff as citywest wedding fair and they said they sell them so you could try there

I was having another think about the underwear for this dres and I think I might get the cups sewn into the dress too. Then I don't need to worry about straps showing or anything. And it might be more comfortable than wearing a bustier. I am getting married in Italy so the less layers the better.

Can I ask you other Topacio brides what you are planning on wearing in your hair?
Are you getting a nice hairpiece and if so, can you show me what you have found that you think would go with the dress?
I have decided not to wear a veil with the dress so I want to get something really nice for my hair

Hi mrs B, I'm also wearing this dress and getting married in Italy this summer. I have myself driven demented trying to figure out what to do with my hair! :eek

Not wearing a veil cos I want to show off the back, not sure if a birdcage veil would go with it. Ill prob wear a hairpiece, but I think the upstyle needs to be fairly jazzy to make up for the lack of a veil.

What are you other Topacio ladies thinking of doing?

I haven't decided on a hairstyle yet but I'm thinking something soft and not too structured.
Yeah I'm not wearing a veil for the same reasons as you. I wanna show off the back of the dress.
I'll get a nice hair piece I think.

Have you bought underwear for the dress or are you going to get cups seem into the dress?
Im not sure what to be doing.

I have also ordered the Topacio dress. Its due to be delivered in March so am really really excited!
I am going to get the dress altered in Dublin - because it is so detailed I want to make sure its a really really good dressmaker. Any recommendations??

Hey. I can't recommend anyone as such but just wanted to say be extremely careful about who alters it for you. I was in trying on my sample dress the other day when looking for shoes, and I was chatting to the girl about how the dress will look when it's finished, i.e. after all alterations are done for it to fit my shape. She was telling me that a lot of dressmakers will make a bags of alterations if they're not familiar with the dress they're working with, and as an example she showed me a picture of a very ill fitting Topacio!! I couldn't believe it - It looked totally different on the girl who was wearing it, because it had been altered by someone who wasn't familiar with the dress. She was able to show me where there are little darts in the lace where alterations should be made, and in this particular photo, the lace had been taken in completely incorrectly and it looked brutal - it completely lost it's shape. I got a fright when I saw it!!

So maybe try to leave it with someone who at the very least is familiar with Novia D'Art dresses. O-O

I ordered my veil from simplyveils and it arrived today. I tried it on with my dress and it doesnt cover the back at all its very thin, light and see through - love it :lvs

. It all depends if you really want one I thought I didnt at the start but when I thought about it I would regret not having it later.
