TOPACIO BRIDES??

Anyone out there going to be wearing, or has already worn, the Novia D'Art 'Topacio' Dress.

Mine is due in at the end of this month and I'm starting to think of what underwear I should get for it. Would love to know what the rest of you are doing? I would like something fairly structured for underneath because I'm fairly teeny (5ft) with a 32DD bust and so I'd love to have the right support :-8

I'm just a bit worried about finding something that will give me that support, but with a low enough back to be worn under the dress IYKWIM.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Stunning dress Steph2, I very nearly chose that dress myself! When I was trying on that dress they recommend that you could get the underwear sewn into the dress to give you proper support, this way it wouldn’t be visible either. HTH

Thanks a million! It's the one thing I'm worried will go wrong - underwear!!!! I usually can't wear strapless bras etc, because they just don't do anything for me - so really need a better solution.

I'm going back in to try on the sample in a couple of weeks (so that I can hopefully pick out shoes) so will mention what you have suggested while I'm there and see how I go!

Hi Steph, check out the bridal underwear segment from this morning's Ireland AM- on TV3 player. A couple if items from Peaches & Cream that might be ideal for under your dress.

Steph, i too am 5ft and a 32dd, SNAP!! I don't understand how a bra can be sown into the dress, does it still close at the back or does it just sit on the front, that can't be very comfortable?

my dress is going to be any day now! can't wait!

Hi ladies,

Not being blessed in the, eh, chestular department I can't help with your dilemma in one sense, but I have a really low-backed dress and had a real pain of a time finding a bra.

Ended up buying on line from these guys: http://www.bridal-lingerie-shop.co.uk/

They have a section for low-backed options, with brilliant advice on each. Service was great, I ordered on Monday and received this afternoon (in France). Going to take it to my dressmaker tomorrow and she is going to integrate it into the dress - no idea how yet, but once she explains it I'll report back!

God yeah I have that dress, only realised now how low the back is! Any kind of bra would be seen from the back! Is getting the bra sewn in to the dress a pretty easy to do and common thing? Or are there alternatives?

thanks Cabbagehead, let us know how you get on. I just looked at that website and they ahve a corset with a low back, i think i might look into getting it, love the idea of it taking up to 4 inches off! did you try yours on yet?

Hi everyone, well I promised I'd report back!

So first off, my dress lady is not going to actually incorporate my bra/bustier into my dress - it fits so well and has such a good shape that it doesn't need to be sewn into the dress. But this totally depends on the design of the dress, not sure how it will be for you all!

Cannotwait, my dressmaker said the bustier I got was perfect, she said it would be a delight to work the dress around it as it gives a "perfect foundation". Her only negative comment was that it was not very pretty, but it's grand, it gets the job done and sure no one will be seeing it except himself and he's seen me in worse :o0

Re: the 4 inches - I can't confirm that one, I didn't need a figure-shaping thing really. But the dressmaker did comment that it defined my waist-curve nicely, and she did have to take in the dress a bit there, so there is a bit of shaping going on alright. I wouldn't say 4 inches though - maybe depends on which model you're looking at?

This particular one only goes up to a D but you might find something similar on another website. I was also thinking of going into a shop that has bridal underwear and asking them for advice. If I find anything out I'll let you know.

hey girls,
i have this dress too and have a shoe dilemma :weep

I just dont know which ones to go for.. what type of ones did u choose (peep toe or round)? the shoes are sticking out a bit when i walk so its not the usual of no one will see them so dont know which ones to go for O:|

thanks! I love the peep toe ones too I just havent seen any bride wearing these with these type of dresses and wonder what it look like in pictures when I walk down the aisle
