Pregnant after miscarriage/loss

Re: Pregnant after miscarriage/loss

Postby Jacqueline Hyde » Sat May 05, 2022 8:22 pm

This is awful girls but is anyone else not excited?

I feel like my head is not allowing me to get excited because deep down i'm freaking out that i'll lose this baby too. I've had a tough week with fatigue and hives that are keeping me awake. I know that when i'm tired i don't deal with stress but i had a bloody breakdown the other night because basically i feel like i'm going through this hell and for what? For another miscarriage to happen?

And then feeling like that made me feel so guilty. It's a few weeks of fatigue and itchy hell and i should be putting up with it for even the chance of a healthy pregnancy. But because i'm not emotionally bonding with the baby it's hard to really think rationally about it. I'm treating this hardship as if it's solely that, hardship. And not as the result of something wonderful.

I'm hoping my scan on Wednesday will catch my head up to my body.

What a god-awful ungrateful post

i totally sympathise JH.
had a bleed on thurs an part of me was thinking do i really need this stress now.
i'm totally not enjoying it-every minute is a worry and its so draining.
then with the luck we've had i'm freaking out that if it does survive the 9 months, will there be something wrong when it arrives.
dont feel so bad about being ungrateful :action32

I am very gingerly dipping a toe into this thread. Got bfp last night but period only due today so very very early days.

JH and Mapaco I am the same, don't think I will ever relax. I am petrified I will lose this little bean any day, petrified I will lose him/her later in the pregnancy, petrified there is something wrong. Did I mention I am petrified? I am so bloody lucky to be pg again and I can't feel happy really as I am too scared it will be ripped from me again.

I am praying for sticky beans for all of us and I hope to be on this thread for the next 8 months!

JH know exactly how you feel = Im concentrating very hard on staying positive and not worrying. Im trying to enjoy this stage a little bit as one way or the other I am reaching the end of the road with TTC and this will prob be my last time being pregnant. Its very hard though. I'd actually love to have a thread on here for successful pregnancy stories after loss- Id love to just read some uplifting stories and get our heads in the right place. :babydust: to all

Do you mind me asking if this is because of age or just that you don't want to go through it again? It must be a hard realisation. You're right about being positive but it is hard sometimes. I've a scan tomorrow. My last bab stopped growing at around this stage last time so i'm nervous but excited. I'm hoping it'll settle the head a bit.

JH oh best of luck in scan - hope we hear some good news later on. Its sooooo nerve wracking. I actually feel nervous on your behalf! actually early scans stress me out so much Ive decided this time to wait until 10 weeks...but may change my mind in the meantime!
We're lucky enough to have our DS but with the big 40 not too far away and with 3 miscarriages since last Feb I don't think I can take much more of this. I feel my whole life has stalled recently either waiting to become pregnant, being pregnant and making lovely plans and then recovering from another devestating loss. But please god this littel bean will stick and won't have to decide what to do..best of luck again!
How's everyone else doing?

JH best of luck today! Will be thinking of u.

Thelostdj I also think this will be my last pregnancy so I completely understand. 40 also looming here and losing our son in jan took the last of my emotional reserve. Thankfully we have dd but I struggle to get pg and the emotional toll over the years has been quite hard to absorb. Please god these pregnancies work out for us all. We deserve a break!

Best of luck JH today. hope everything goes great and you see the little heartbeat ticking away dying to see its mammy and daddy. :)

Gosh this thread is getting busy lately. its kind of bitter sweet isnt it.
people are here because they have suffered a loss/losses which is horrific, but then the positive side is we are pregnant and please god we'll all come through this with our little beans.
ttc2012 hope you are ok. thinking of you. xxxx

Im just 25 weeks girls and the worry doesnt end. yes im the size of a house and feeling the kicks, but the panic sets in when the babs goes quiet for a few hours and then i panic thinking the worst. yes i know its irrational, but sometimes it really seems too good to be true. i had a 9 week scan and the nerves were gone, and hoping all yr early scans will be full of positive news, and sure this time next year I bet you that we'll be all worrying bout them teething, or colic, or chest infections. sure mothers never stop worrying from the time they conceive till eternity. i think its just in our nature. :duh:

It's emotional to read these comments ....

We are only 5 weeks & 5 days, it's nail biting, Im hoping if I can get to the end of my first trimester, and then see the little heart beat that I can then have that "hope"

Wishing you all well :)

Had scan today, all is well in there! And my dates were right.

I don't think it's sunk in yet. It's turned OH into a complete child though which is really sweet. And there's nothing i can do about the hives except suck it up. I don't feel so bad about that today knowing there's good reason for it.

I'm assuming the worry won't end but we'll get there ladies.

JH, thats great news re scan, you can breathe a little for another while! Capricorn I have my fingers and toes crossed for you ,
Bumble very sorry to hear about your loss in Jan. I really hope this one goes well for you.
I'm just in survival more I think at moment. Thought I felt morning sickness the last two mornings ( which I didnt have with miscarriages) so was pleased about that, but then it could just be sheer nerves! I made app for 10 week scan the other day and was practically in palpitations when in got off the phone as the last times Ive been going to hosp it was for ERPC and follow up. Stress!! Ive decided not to do any eaarly scans this time as for me it just drives my stress levels through the roof......however may change my mind! Oh dear. I feel like Ive been pregnant for 12 months already!!!! In case Im nto back on have a great weekend everyone!!

I got my appointment for domino clinic today, I'll just be past my 12 doctor weeks!!

I hope they do a scan on the first appointment, otherwise I think I will book a private one may for week 14/16 - I am trying to be totally optimistic here, June isn't that far away, so I think I can survive till then
