********* April 2012 Babies ********

Hope you've settled in well at home justwed.

And hope nearlymumof is getting on well in hospital!

Very quiet this weekend- anymore stirrings from anyone? I had some cramps last night and think maybe they were BH but not sure- had some dull aches in my lower back too. Also had a lot of discharge yest but don't think it was my plug or waters- can be so hard to know.

Girls I know this has been asked before but babs seems very quiet today- some days just seem quiet and the movement is quite subdued when it does happen- presume that's normal at this stage as baby doesn't have much room??????? I had a long bath there (about an hour!) and there were about 2/3 small movements. At this stage is there a guideline to movement per day? Starting to worry a bit at this stage- finding it a bit like the first trimester again!

I'm 41 weeks tomorrow O:| and dying to get this baby out but no sign, not even a twinge!
Had a sweep done last Wednesday where I did start to loose mucus plug a little but nothing since. Would love for things to get moving now at this stage.

AmandaMc they say 10 movements a day - at least that's what midwife asks me at each appointment. I've found there are some days movement seems quite low but what they advise you to do is have some cold water and lie down and then count movements. Anytime i've done this I tend to feel babs alot more and it eases my worries. It's worth a try at least and if you still have worries after that get onto your hospital so they can check it out.

Ticklemeelmo- thanks so much. I was worried it was 10 per hour!! I'm def getting way more than 10 a day so that's good to hear. Weeks back I was getting kicked constantly so suppose it just seems so much quieter but it's still more than 10- cheers!

I was reading today that the average gestation for a firsttimemum is 41+1 so hopefully tomorrow/tuesday is your day! I'm pretty sure I will get to 41 weeks + too- I'm trying to relax and enjoy the end of pregnancy but I'll bet when I'm a few days past my due date it'll be a different story! I have my first internal on wednesday (one day past my due date) so hopefully my cervix is favourable for a sweep.

I just had a peek at the april babies thread on EUMOM.ie and they have far more boys there (twice as many on the last count!).

Hopefully my boy will arrive very soon to even things out a bit more here!

Congratulations NearlyMumof3!

That's so funny that the numbers are reversed over on eumom, AmandaMc :)

Was out with DD in the pram for the first time this morning. She slept the whole time and it was nice to get out and about again, despite the rain!

Great you are getting out and about strangeangel- I'm dying to take babs out for a walk instead of wheeling an empty pram around the living room like a loser!!

I did a bit of googling and apparently it could still be a week or more. Its the bloody show that indicates an imminent birth apparently.
Im back on knicker watch for that, mad that it goes full cycle from my ttc days!
Anyway, finges crossed for all of us ladies. Have you checked with your hospitals what the overdue policies are? Im in the Coombe and they'll induce on day 10 over. So its a max of 12 more days until i meet the little bundle. :o)ll :o)ll :o)ll

Well girls, thnakfully the show was the start of it!!! My contractions started that night and my little boy was born the following morning :lvs
