Morning Girls,

How is everyone keeping. I know most of you are communicating via Facebook but I dont really use it. I had my Mid pregnancy scan on Monday and all is well with the baby, the placenta is slighty covering the cervix so I'll have to go for another scan at 34 weeks to check that it moves up. The doc was so nice and she gave us 8 pictures, she gave us loads of time and attention and looked at every part of his/her little body in detail.

I'm feeling lovely movement all the time now, in fact baby was awake for hours this morning. DH is feeling them now as well, which is great as it makes him feel more a part of the pregnancy.

My sister had a baby last week a little girl, it is her second baby and she almost gave birth in the car, she was only in the hospital 4 min before the little lady came along. Thankfully both mum and baby are safe and well.

It brings back all the feeding realities that we both faced on our first babies and I have to say its difficult the second time too!! But I'll try again and hopefully it will go better this time, I'll know what to expect.

I better go let us know how you are all doing

Hi turtlebaby1, congratulations to your sister. That must have been an anxious time for her, going so fast. What do you mean by the feeding problems?Congratulations to you too for the scan. Great to have that behind you and all well. The placenta often moves up anyway near the end as far as I know. Lovely that you are both feeling the movement.

I am still suffering from a blocked nose at night and mornings which rapidly turns to sneezing when I get up and is all quite bloody. Some headaches too. I am presuming it is a slight sinus problem caused by the increased circulation. Nothing more than uncomfortable really. Still getting af type cramps and all sorts of other twinges in my belly and I am sure dancing with DS and carrying him about abit doesn't help. He is walking now but still need to carry him at times and probably do it more than I need to in the house. A bit of bother with the spd but it is manageable. Not back to consultant til 11th of May and my scan is the 16th of May so another three weeks to go. Have a wedding on the 5th of May to go to and have to find a dress this weekend for that. Bump is emerging full steam now.

I know what your saying about finding a dress, I have three wedding between now and baby and another 7 weeks after the baby is due. It going to be a pian trying to find dresses.

When I mentioned feeding realities, I mean the simple fact that it was really hard and between not enough milk in one boob and bleeding nipples I have to say I found it all very very stressful. In the hospital I had to give my little fella a bottle on his second night as I had no milk for him and then when he was three days old he had red crystals in his nappy which means that he is dehydrated so I had to give him another bottle, I just found it really stressful not knowing if he was getting enough milk or not.

Oh right. I loved breastfeeding last time although he had to get bottles at night as I was unwell and nobody offered me the chance to express and it didn't occur to me to ask at the time. By day though I found it wonderful. He was happy, I was never sore, I just loved it. However he wasn't gaining enough weight and the public health nurse made me change to bottles completely when he was five weeks old. This time I will just promise myself to feed baby myself in the hospital and take it from there. Not sure how it will go down with DS seeing me breastfeed.

I think for me the fact that I didnt have enough on day 2 to get him through and then he had the dehydration I was terrified that he wasnt doing well, so it made me doubt all of it. Hopefully it will be better this time!!

I am just wrecked. Up with DS the last two nights, last night for the guts of five hours. He goes down fine and sleeps quickly enough but wakes about midnight or shortly afterwards and there is nothing for it but to take him into the living room and sit or lie with him there in the dark. He usually goes back to sleep fine that way but as soon as I put him back in the cot he is awake roaring again. Part of it is windy pain and teething and then part of it is just wanting physical comfort I think when he can't go back to sleep by himself. I probably have enough ressources left to do it one more night but can't see myself able for any more. Usually the most it happens is three nights in a row at a time. Hopefully he will sleep tonight though. When he cries, my baps get really sore and then the weight of him isn't easy on the bump either. All well otherwise except time is going very slowly.

How is everyone else doing? Any more scans coming up? Mine is not for another two weeks, the 16th.

Hi Everyone

Had scan yesterday at Holles Street refered by own consultant(Mullingar). It was great to see bubs again. Asked not to know the sex. Had to wait along time as the unit seemed very busy (2 hours) in the end the last one to be seen, they were cleaning up round us in the waiting room.
Everything is a ok. So now all care back to local. Got a great scan picture of babys face, its got lips like Mick Jagger :o0

Lillygilly I know how you feel on my first I didnt feel anything until at least 21 weeks and even then it was a while before I was even sure it was movement. For me it was because the placenta was between me and babs so it was blocking all the movement. I was talking to a girl on Monday who didnt feel anything until 23 weeks on her second everyone is different. Dont worry it will happen.

Yeah it could well be the position of the placenta. My friend says on her first she felt everything because placenta was at the back but on her second the placenta was at the front and she felt a lot less. My placenta's at the back and high so I've been feeling a lot but I also suspect our little one is either going to be into kung-fu or disco-dancing (or both!).
