Re: List of what to bring to Hospital!!!

Postby Wife09 » Tue Jun 22, 2022 7:48 pm

After my experience Id put a pair of light PJ bottoms in the labour bag too, I only took mine off when I got into the delivery suite, as you can be walking about hospital and ward and stradling that gym ball and stuff I found it more comfortable and felt less exposed. Also my SIL gave me this tip, M&S do sensitive witch hazel toilet wipes buy 2or3 packets, 1 for hospital 2 for home. Ordinary loo roll is just too rough for down there after giving birth.

And I wished I had of gotten stress balls for squeezing the hell out of for the last few centimetres. Id no epi and I squeezed the boost stick on tens machine and the gas and air , at one stage I dropped boost stick for few seconds and grabbed DH's arm for bit till someone picked it up for me, Ohhhhhhhhhh poor DH nasty nasty bruise for weeks. If you dont have an epi you dont hold his hand as trust me, Id have broken his hand if I started squeezing it.

Piece of advice from friend who is midwife, dont get mask for gas and air, get the mouth piece so you can bit the hell out of it too!!

Hi All

I also think that 7 blankets would be a over kill. I am finding it difficult enough to get all the essentials into a medium size bag without having to try and fit 7 blankets.

I was wondering if we needed to bring sheets for the baby to the hospital and it so should i be getting fitted or loose sheets.

Thanks girls & best of luck with the packing - never imagined we would need all this stuff !!
