Places you hate

Places you hate

Postby pricilla » Tue Sep 20, 2022 11:25 am

I have to say, the place I hate most on this earth has to be Limerick Junction even the mention of the place gives me the shivers!
I had this conversation with friends recently (at a wedding) and everybody had somewhere they really hated. Interestingly, a few different people had Hollyhead as their worst place.
What's yours? And I'll try not to take offence if any of you say Limerick :D it's only a laugh

The examining table in the well woman clinic-ugh
The north quays- that bumper to bumper crawl at any time of day
M50 roundabout at liffey Valley- even worse than the quays
As somebody else was talking about yesterday any rush hour train on the dublin-Sligo line, its worse than Calcutta and the chances of getting some class of disease are probably higher

Ballealy Dump and not for the fact that it's a dump but because when I was a kid and we were out for a Sunday drive, I suggested that we follow the sign to Tiffid - which was my pronunciation of the signed "Tiphead"! The memories of everyone laughing and my embarrassment is relived everytime I pass it!

Were you ever on the "Magic Roundabout" in Cork, that's pretty frightening too, 4 lanes in and 2 lanes out, every (wo)man for themselves

Just as an aside, do you have to change your name on here when you get married? I often wondered that when I look at your names.
I also wonder if people knew how much that of a part WOL becomes in thier lives, would they have chosen different names.
And would you turn around in the street if someone called your WOL name out?

Graine! I'm giggling at your post, I was going to say something very rude there but I've restrained myself ;)
