Thanks Again to you all and to those who sent me mail.
Its amazing what a few kind words and support can do. :thnk
We decided to have a normal evening last night so me and h2b and one of my best friends who lives nxt door to my mam all went to my mam and dads house to watch bb my dad and h2b hate it but put up with it for us ladies and for my lil bro who LOVES Jedward he obviously doesnt know what the situation is.
We just told him that mammy had to have an operation which means she cant have any more children and thats why people are sad, his answer was ah really can dad have them with someone else so, cause i really wanted a lil brother who i could teach him all my bold things to,this is very typical of him he is a mad child.
Mam was in ok form last night and seemed to enjoy the normaility of last night.
She also text me this morning to say that all is ok this morning and she is heading back to sleep now she also started the text with Hi Bitch and ended it with smiley face this usually indicates that shes in good form.
So thanks again all, your a great bunch.

Re: Shocked & Devastated - Need Positive Stories *updated*

Postby Hyper2012 » Fri May 11, 2022 9:22 pm

Hi all,

Just to say thank you for all your kind thoughts and words when I posted this back in August.
Unfortunately my mam passed away 4 weeks ago 2day.

Things never went smoothly from August when she was diagnosed 9 weeks in Luke's for Treatment let out in November hoping that it was gone in Tallaght HOSP over Xmas with bowel damage from radiation.

Told in feb during Stay in jameses that treatment hadn't worked and it had started to spread and that only option now was palliative chemo which they hoped would give us a year.

At that stage I gave up work and cancelled wedding in Spain and moved it to Ireland in July.

But after just 2 chemo sessions blood cloth in leg led them to discover a large new tumour in spine.

Transfered to lukes for small amount of radiation to release pressure
No more treatment after that she become paralysed from chest down nearly over night

We wer able to bring her home Easter weekend for a 3days for her and my dads 24th wedding anniversary and dads Bday itwas great to be all under one roof again.
But her rapid deterioration over that weekend was heartbreaking.

She went back to lukes on the Monday she was very happy there then to everyone's surprise with my mam on the Tuesday I found Out i was pregnant she went into coma on the Wednesday and died on the Friday I'm just sooo thankful she got to know and was soo happy.
Pregnancy news has been great help to my 9 year old brother nd my dad gives them something to look forward to.

Again thank you all and for those who sent me pm's.

Heartbreaking story, bit similar to my own, but I was only 16. Tough going, I wish you and your family the very best, and a healthy pregnancy.

Hope you're doing ok. There were some lovely messages written for you on fb and it was v obvious that your mum was a very well loved person. Hopefully everyones kind words brought you some comfort.
Great that your mum knew about the pregnancy and I'm sure she'll look after you during it and also when you have the baby. Nice for your family, especially your little brother, to have something positive to focus on when you are all so heartbroken.
Best of luck with the rest of the wedding planning.

hyper2012, words are never never enough, I'm heart sore for you. Your mum was far far too young!

I know when my uncle died, also very young from Cancer, it seemed like a piece of all his family died, the impact was so strong but when his daughter had her son a few years later, his first grandson that he never got to meet, the joy and happiness that little boy brought definitely seemed to bring back a light or a spark I thought was missing from all his family. I hope your growing baby eases your pain even just a little, best of luck in the rest of your pregnancy.

P.S. I bet your mother passed a little easier knowing she was leaving a wonderful daughter like you to keep and eye on the little men in her life and your dad. :action32

Very sorry Hyper to read your story, cried when I read it as it very close to the bone.
I lost my mam to cancer last september and I was 24 weeks pregnant at the time.Very hard and I also put a lot of pressure on myself at the time by going back to work too soon and generally pushing myself too far.Make sure you look after yourself and take it easy xx
