When i started going out with dh originally his 2 sons just gone 5 and turning 7 knew it word for word- very funny.

One would sing THUNDER and the other - ah ah ha ahhaha . Very cute considering they couldnt pronounce their R's !

That song brings back great memories of weddings we've been to over the last couple of years. Its the one song that gets everyone onto the dance floor. DHs friend wanted it as their first dance song but the bride wouldn't have it, as a compromise it was the second song and the floor was packed for the night thereafter. I cant remember their first dance song now, but its funny that I can remember that that song was their second song and what a blast we had at their wedding. 'Twas some party! I also remember that the Riverdance theme music went down a treat too :o)ll

+1 nini. I grew up in a metlers/ metallers house. I know most of the words to all of the Iron Maiden and Metallica songs and honest to God never heard this song in my life! Don't know how I got away with it this far. I've a wedding in August so will be curious to see will it be played there. I said it to DH and he knew it straight away. I wouldn't laugh at someone having it as their entrance song though, that's a bit cat. It's a cool song just never heard it before.

OK I have to finally reply to this one - until this post, I never knew this song was:

a) called Thunderstruck
b) by AC/DC

I did know the song when I heard it though, I'd know it from the radio etc.

Have never seen people going bananas to it at a wedding or on a night out. AND - the DJ played it at my wedding two weeks ago and it filled the dancefloor instantly, but without any extra madness.

So I couldn't say I'm particularly a fan, but I don't think it's some sort of trigger for crowd-insanity at all!
