Hi Girls im sure you're all very excited now for your weddings coming up this year! im married 4 months today and still feel like i have to pinch myself! i had the most amazing wedding day ever!! I really wish i could go back and do it all again and i wouldnt have changed a thing.
My wedding planner was Sonya Casey she went above and beyond all our expectations and was worth every penny! the church was stunning as were the flowers done by local florist Imna, and the music by Quinteto Iberclassico was so beautiful i had goosebumps!
My photographer was alex olson, I cannot fault him i barely even noticed him most of the day and the album has turned out really well, ive attached a link to some photos for you to see!
http://www.alexolsonphotography.com/blog/?p=1253

Reception was held at the Toboso, food was gorgeous, as were the cocktails :-) had a really friendly atmosphere and the staff were great!!
Dj Ollie provided the music for the evening, the dance floor was packed all night!!
Make up by beauty by katie and hair by walliRon
Finally The flamenco dancers provided by Sonya stole the show and would highly recommend them to provide a little bit of spanish feel to your wedding!!
Our wedding video was done by steve at whistling mule weve not received the video yet but ill let you know how it turns out!!
Hope you like the photos (p.s id just like to point out my dad is wearing a wig in some pics to make me laugh as i was getting a tiny bit nervous - thankfully he doesnt normally wear it haha)

Just met my priest today to go through paperwork and I thought I'd share what went on because I was clueless about the whole thing!

So....for a Catholic ceremony in Spain you need for the RELIGIOUS side:
Pre-nuptial enquiry - make sure you know your chief BM and Best man's addresses, the name and parish of the priest who will be marrying you AND the name of parish priest in church where you are getting married, plus address of church (these last two are probably going to be the same person, unless you're bringing your own priest like we are), and address of parish/diocese of your fiance, if different from your own.
Baptismal cert
Confirmation cert
To have completed a pre-marriage course - the priest was ok with just our word that we had done it
The priest will then send the form plus certs to the Bishops house of Diocese, and they will send on the Bishop in diocese in Spain, in our case ladies, Malaga.

For CIVIL side:
Letter of Freedom to Marry (this is from Dept of Foreign Affairs and IS NOT Letter of Freedom from Church as far as I know, don't make same mistake as me!!!!) See link: http://www.dfa.ie/home/index.aspx?id=274 NB they will only send this out 8 weeks before your wedding! It costs €40 and you need copy of your passport and 2 forms (if you are getting married for first time, there are others you need to fill in if divorved etc, see website above)
Original Birth cert stamped with Apostile of Hague
Copy of passport stamped with Apostile of the Hague
Baptismal cert
Pre-marriage course attendence certificate

I found this really confusing and and I still haven't everything sorted out - H2B still hasn't renewed his bloody passport O:| so we can't go to Dept of Foreign Affairs....ARGHHHH!

*Edited 23.02.12 to include info on civil side!

You're very welcome...I wish I'd known this myself as I'm panicking now because you are supposed to give at least 4 months (but no more then 6 months, wtf?) notice to DFA and to Spanish govt, and I'm 5 days off that. Can't sleep worrying about it. H2B is useless at this stuff and I work away during the week so can't do this myself - he will have to get the finger out and go and get passport renewed and then on to DFA FIRST THING ON MONDAY or I will not be responsible for my actions!

Hi sellina yes I've met paco and been in his studio, he takes lovely photos but speaks very little English, but I've heard he's very easy to work with. I can also recommend my photographer Alex Olson, u can check out some of our pics by him if you click on the link on my last post above

Hi Dreamalot,

Not sure about the weather at Xmas but we were in Nerja during January and it was gorgeous during the day but chilly enough at night. I was actually grateful I had a coat with me but it was still miles better than at home. :)

Looking for some ideas for the night after our Wedding in Nerja. I hear Burrianna Beach is a good spot. Can anyone recommend a restaurant there... ? :wv
