The priest at El Salvador does speak English. The priest in Frigiliana, although being far more flexible on days and times, does not speak English, so you planner is correct you would need an interpreter.

Getting married in May, San antonio church in Frigiliana and then Cortijo Bravo.... very exciting... time is flying by and still have to book church music, make up and hair (for 4 bridesmaids and 2 mothers!) and wedding cake...

Anyone have any suggestions for (1) the church music... I'm looking for a singer and (2) for the make up artist, someone who uses mac? :thnk

Great choice :compress I don't think you've left it too late at all, you'll have plenty of time. The first thing we did was decide if we wanted a planner or not - we decided we needed one and it was best money spent! So we researched quite a few then got in touch with kerry from celebrations in Spain. I suppose the next step is what type of ceremony you want I.e. civil religious etc there is plenty of info on here about nerja weddings and lots of helpful brides :yelrotflmaosmilie:

We are only a few days away from 2012 ladies!! I don't know about you guys, but I am regarding the New Year with a mixture of excitement and panic!!! Still a bit to go, but in reality, not all that long and about a bazillion things still left to do (plus the small matter of my final exams 2 weeks before the wedding..)

How are you all getting on with the organising? I have most big things done already due to aforementioned exams, and I feel a bit sad that most of the fun things have beent taken care of. Still have the men's suits, wedding rings and of course the hen to look forward to though, so can't give out too much.

Bring on 2012!

I agree MrsGriff2b...i'm excited but panicked about start of 2012, i'm so used to saying 'oh i'm not getting married until next year' that its gonna be a bit of a shock to find myself on the home straight. I've got all big things done too, just all other things like yourself, suits, rings, stationary, hen/stag, shoes and accessories etc but plenty to keep me busy oh and a little week long trip to Nerja in April :lvs i honestly dont know what i'm gonna do with myself after although if i hear my mother mention babies one more time i may scream O:|

Exciting times ahead girls :o)ll :o)ll :o)ll

Plans are coming on well, got most of the big things done and out of the way but the list of little things is very long, gonna try and get a start on the save the dates and get them out in next few weeks, i have no idea logistically how i'm getting everything to spain, i'm the worst packer at the best of times, i pack every thing but the kitchen sink 'just incase' and i'm always over the luggage limit so i'm going to have to be ruthless.

I cant believe its 2012 already, this year is going to fly in! Your going to have to do a wedding report when you get back, there arent enough Nerja reports on here :compress

Hi Mclisa. Is there any way you could maybe send some stuff ahead by courier to your planner to help with the weight problem?

Hi all Nerja 2012 brides,

I am getting married in June - Maro Church and then Marinas de Nerja for the reception. How are are your plans coming along?
Just wondering if anybody is getting married in Maro church, and if so, what type of music are you having in the church? I'm not sure whether to hire a violinist or a guitarist or whether to just play a CD as the mass will be short anyway?
Thanks! :)

Hi brookeavril

Just thought I'd share my thoughts about Maro Church & its acoustics. I have filmed weddings there where the violin, guitar & CD have been used. In my option the violin and guitar usually sound much better than CD, as a CD can sound very hollow.

I've included links to two really good musicians, this may help you. If you want to, you can view highlights of a wedding I recorded in Maro Church. I hope this also helps!

Best of luck with everything. O-O

Warmest regards
Dougie
