Everything Clomid Thread

I've been asking alot of questions lately about people's experience using Clomid so some of the girls suggested that I might start a thread. Not sure how to do it so just thought I would start it and see how it goes.....

I started my 1st Clomid cycle in January 50mg day 2-6. The only side effects I had while taking it was hot flashes and night sweats. Unfortunately it didn't get me anywhere near ovulating so they increased the dose to 100mg this month. I started spotting on CD16 and had AF again on CD18 and so my second cycle of Clomid began. Again had little side effects while taking it but I have been spotting on and off since CD8. Went for a cd12 scan and it shows no follicles on the right and a follicle 10mm on the left...has to be at least 18mm before they will inject me with Pregnyl. Also my womgb lining is quite thin. :o(

I've been spotting and at times bleeding since then so I have to wait until tomorrow for my final scan but it looks like this cycle is down the drain too :o(

. The fertility clinic have no idea why I'm bleeding either so it could be a long road.

So basically girls my experience so far with clomid has been hot flashes, spotting/bleeding afterwards and thining of my womb lining....just wondering if anyone has had any of these side effects while taking Clomid.

Haven't started on the clomid yet as soon as the af comes back I've to start bd and if there is no pregnancy within 3 months I'm onto 50mg of the clomid, I'm not looking forward to the hot flushes and night sweats (just trying to get over six months worth)

When I started mine I hadn't had an AF for almost a year so my AF was brought on by Duphaston (had no side effects apart from crying my eyes out watching Joe Dolan's funeral!! :-8

)and then started on Clomid.
I know some people have had no side effects and then others have had alot more than I have so I'm hoping that others will post so people are well informed and not worried about what they are experiencing. I thought Clomid was going to fix everything for me and now that I'm having a few issues with it I thought it was just me and that there was something wrong with me. I felt totally useless. By trawling through some of the other threads I realised that there was alot of girls out there that had been through something similar and I didn't feel so hopeless. RushinBride for one has had her BFP :o)ll

when she thought Clomid wasn't working so you never know :eek

I'm just hoping that others will post now and make the thread worthwhile as this TTCing lark can be nerve wracking at the best of times!

Hi Mags,

I'm just waiting for the witch to arrive then I start on Clomid. Just wanted to ask - what's the deal with the Pregnyl injections? My gynae hasn't mentioned them at all...She also said I wouldn't need to be scanned for the first few months - basically I just take the Clomid and see what happens.

She's been very thorough otherwise, and I've had a million blood tests and scans already, but not mention of Pregnyl and Clomid scans.

Any thoughts?

Hi Girls
I'm going onto my 3rd round of clomid today
My side effects were, night sweats, nausea, dizziness, hot flushes, etc etc.

The pregnyl injections for me are supposed to burst the follicle to release the egg within 24 hours. I don't think you have to get it with Clomid but the consultant prescribed it so we had optimum chance of getting the timing right. Haven't had the chance to use it yet though as I haven't even gotten that far!

Well girls here is my tuppance.

TTC since june 07 never had regular af. August 25 went on provers to bring on af got it took clomid. Had scan and internal no ovulation and no side effects. From November 6th till february 5th had af like bleeding tmiik, just bit the bullit and took the cloid as had more af like symtoms next day since then. I cant sleep am having hot fulshes all the time sweatuing like a pig at night and getting a strange fluttering feeling in my lower abdomen its freaking me out. Dont think its working!!!!!

Well girls I went for a scan this morning. had been on Monday for a cd13 scan and only one follicle at 10mm and had bleeding on and off all week so was told they would probably cancel this cycle too. Went in this morning and..........one follicle at 19mm and my womb lining has thickened :o)ll

she gave me a trigger injection so I should ovulate in the next 48 hours :o)ll

It's the first time in over a year so I am so excited! I thought this month wouldn't work eventhough they increased the dosage but low and behold I am in with a chance! I'm trying not to get too excited but I can't help it. My first time ever having a 2ww....feel all grown up now!

Well ladies I started my final round of Clomid yesterday & my appointment for my scan is Monday 18th so I'm going to have to give it my all if I want this to work.
