Thread for those ttc aged 35+

Peonybaby, I'm sure there are some good books or websites out there for guys, I know it can be difficult for them. Just don't know anything specifically but I'm sure if you put up a thread asking for info I'm sure you'd get it.

I have my SIS ultrasound at Sims on Monday. Am more than a bit nervous; not about the actual test, just the results. Am terrified I'll be told that my tubes are blocked and that's that. I know I have to think positive but it is really scary thought.

Have been put on Eltroxin and don't know if I'm feeling the benefits or it's all just psychosematic but I do feel like I've more energy. Am hoping it will help me lose a few pounds too, I've about 19 to lose. Am off for a run today - hopefully it will clear the head too.

Hi Girls :wv
This thread has gone very quiet probably because nothing is happening for anyone like my self :o( . or maybe a lot of us is over on TTC with assistance.Well Af arrrived on time and now we have reached the 2 year mark. My how time has flown and my how disheartened I feel. It obvious that it is not going to happen naturally for us no matter how much I want to believe it will. We are going down the Ivf route in the next few weeks so hopefully that will be successful for us. :babydust: :babydust: :babydust: to all you ladies. Chat soon

Hey there Goingforit, you just popped up in my "view your posts" section. Think you're right - everyone has migrated to different threads.

Sorry to hear you're two years down the road - that's a long journey. I'm nearly a year down the road and am exhausted so can't imagine how you feel. The very best of luck with IVF, really hope it works out for you and it's sucessful straight away.

Hi Everyone,

Yes this thread is gone EXTREMELY quiet!!! Hope everyone is well... and staying positive... and hopefully the sunshine will lift our spirits and get us closer towards our bouncy green men :o)ll :o)ll :o)ll :o)ll

I am currently TTC Nr. 2... not much to report really am about 3 DPO but not very hopeful this month as had a nasty stomach bug all weekend so wasn't feeling very in the mood for TTC... but anyway there's always next month.

Goingforit2010 Sorry to hear it has been 2 years TTCing for you - try to stay positive and your journey will be all worth it when you eventually have your little bundle so try to think of that... IT WILL HAPPEN FOR U & it's just a little longer journey for you to get there it will all be worthwhile. Don't give up hope :action32 altho' I know it must be very disappointing each month.

Hello Littlesugarloaf... hope you're getting close to your BFP now... sending both of you LOTS of :babydust: and PMA for this month. Who knows this could be our lucky month... all 3 of us!!!

Keep me posted girls.... we'll keep this thread alive!

Hey there, I'm 10dpo but no hope this month as the Eltroxin just didn't work as well as they had hoped and my thyroid function level still isn't below 2 (it's 2.9 so unlikely I'll get pregnant with that). So they've upped my dosage and hopefully next month it'll happen. Also, I have EWCM which is usually a sign that AF is on the way. No cramps though, so that's good. But not expecting anything really.

This weather definitely helps keep the spirits up - all this sunshine is just good for the soul.

Hi everyone. I might join on here if thats ok.
Im trying for babs #1 and not having much success.
Its 5mths ttc now (with a miscarriage in the middle).
My head is tested at the best of times trying and my impatience is whats my worst enemy. O:|
Its coming up to first anniversary and thats just hard to think a year married and :o(
Dh is great, bless him i dont know how he's doing it. Hes so supportive & worried too. He sees me in the dumps every month with BFNs and he just doesnt know how to cope with me more than the BFN.
Anyways, im trying to pick myself up and become more positive on this. I have to!!
So to everyone here i wish you all lots of :babydust:
I hope my stay here will be short and all of your stays here too are short.

Best of luck toureg, I know what you mean re the anniversary, it can be difficult when you have imagined spending your anniversary with a big bump and that doesn't happen. I hope it's a very, very short stay for you here too.

Just wanted to update from my post last Wednesday - well AF never arrived despite the cramps and my temp kept just getting higher, so I tested on Saturday morning and a year after coming off the pill and 12 cycles temping later, I finally got a BFP. 2-3 weeks, as clear as day. Am still in shock, off to Sims today for HCG blood test. Am absolutely thrilled and delighted but I think shock is probably the main thing - I was so mentally prepared for IUI and now it's not necessary.

I had upped my Eltroxin dose from 25mg per day to 50mg per day on doc's advice after blood test came back with thyroid function of 2.9 (it had been 3.8 before Eltroxin). So I'm presuming Eltroxin is what made the difference.

Obviously I've all the concerns anyone over 35 does but am trying not to worry too much and we'll see what the scans bring.

Thanks a million, mymission, still very much in shock. Had it confirmed with a blood test at Sims yesterday. Am on all kinds of meds, ordered to rest up and take it easy and a viability scan booked in for a few weeks time.

Have a few cramps but otherwise feeling great. A few kinda thready red veins on my boobs, nothing else really.

It's been a long, long road so you'd think we'd be prepared for this - not a bit of it :o0 DH is in a daze and I'm not much better. Will definitely feel a hell of a lot better when scan is done.

Best of luck to everyone still on this thread. I'm not quite ready to go on P&B so will definitely be checking in to see how it's all going for you guys.

Hi girls. I hadn't been getting notifications for this thread in a while but thought I would log on and see how you were all doing. Delighted to read of a bfp. Congratulations littlesugarloaf and the best of luck for the pregnancy.

All going fairly well for me. Much easier pregnancy this time but very tired. 24 weeks now and time is going by so slowly. Baby seems to be behaving however. :babydust: to you all. Take care.
