Hey ;o)

Well at least now you've had the scan and can move on to the next stage of planning. Lots of people with PCOS go on to have healthy pregnancies, so try to think positively. It's just an extra wee hurdle to have to get over but you will hopefully be able to move past it with the right treatment :action32

Good luck on Saturday and let us know how you get on (if you want to) :-8

Hey Donnachain,

I've been off it since November and getting married in June. Thankfully no major issues since coming off it, but if you know that you would have problems then it might be best to stay on it for now?

I would say though that I'm glad I came off it when I did. 5 cycles in and while I at least know I have ovulated every cycle, I'm still ovulating at slightly different times during my cycle - so it is definitely taking a wee while for things to settle down.

I can't see why you couldn't take the pre pregnancy vitamins, and your folic acid etc, while still on it. Best to prepare in whatever way you can I guess.

It's very exciting indeed. I can't believe that in just three more months, me and H2B will be able to TTC :o)ll It's so exciting - it's a great feeling ;o)

Start taking the vitamins now, they can only do you good. If you are coming off the pill come off it now, don't wait until closer to the wedding or your cycle could still be all over the place. So either come off it now or just after. I waited until after the wedding but we didn't have plans to start trying straight after anyway!

Hey girls,
I am planning on coming off the pill in July. That will work out that I will take my last one the very last day of our honeymoon. Hoping then that from July to December my cycle will settle down and I will have a few months of monitoring it but being careful before we actively start trying. Thats the plan anyway! If it happened before then it wouldnt be the end of the world! Just that we wouldnt have any room for a baby as we are planning to extend our house once we get back from honeymoon.

Oh the plans upon plan upon plans can seem overwhelming sometimes! I keep wondering oh maybe I shouldnt plan so much and I should just come off it and see what happens. But then I think no its best to have the extension done, and some savings cos I dont get paid maternity. :duh: sometimes my head spins when I think of all these things! Does everyone do this? I feel so weird sometimes, I'm not even over the wedding and already I'm planning next year!

Also, I am extremely nervous about the thoughts of trying for a baby. Sometimes I think isnt it just lovely the two of us in our lovely little love bubble every day doing what we want, and then other times I think I want a baby now! Please tell me this is normal! :ooh

I am exactly the same as you. I am a super organised person by nature, and everyone always calls me "the Planner" :o0 I try to be as organised as I can be in everything I do. Like you, we haven't even had our wedding yet and we're already thinking about what will happen beyond that. It can definitley be overwhelming, but it's self inflicted. I wouldn't have it any other way :-8

I LOVE that it's just me and H2B at the moment - we have such a great time together, and we too enjoy being in our own little bubble. I totally know where you're coing from. Sometimes, when I think of TTC and think about just how much things might change, it can freak me out a little. But the way I see it, this is something we both want, and if we're going to do it then we'll just have to take the plunge and hope we come out alright on the other side.

Personally, I think if you have the luxury to be able to plan, then why not plan. I know there are a lot of people who just let things happen and then deal with the consequences afterwards, and those people are just built that way. I personally couldn't do that - I just don't have it in me. Sometimes I wish I could be like that - because it's less stressful and everything is probably less of an effort. If you prefer being organised and you're most comfortable when you're able to plan and be in control, then stick with it. Why jump out of your comfort zone if you don't have to ;o)

Thanks Steph!
I feel soooo much better now. Everyone laughs at how organised I am as well but I love it! I like to know everything that should be happening if there's something going on. At my hen, i knew nothing and I was nearly having panic attacks at all the surprises :o0

Yeah you're right. I think I need to keep reminding myself, that we are in a good position with time on our side and the luxury of being able to plan should be taken advantage of. I think it would be great if we had our house the way we wanted and some savings in the bank before we had a baby on the way. Fingers crossed everything works out that way.

I am super excited about the thoughts of us as parents, but also freaked out like you! I suppose what ill take from that is, we're both normal and its expected that we would feel like that, phew! I love our little saturday nights in watching crappy films and our favourite shows, no reason why we cant have a little baby upstairs soundly sleeping while we do that!

We will eventually have to give up control once we start TTC as that will be left up to fate, so ill enjoy the control I have in the meantime :o0

I totally hear you on the Saturday nights!!!! A lot of my friends have had their first baby in the past year, and to be honest, they're all doing perfectly ok as regards Saturday nights. They're able to put their feet up and enjoy a glass of wine and a movie, just like they would have always done. I think it probably just takes a wee while to get back to being able to do that but you definitley will get there! Besides - for the first few weeks you'll be so besotted with your new arrival that you won't mind :-8

Even if I'm meeting someone after work, I have to know well in advance what I'm doing, and I have to be as prepared as I possibly can be. I'm not good with spontaneous nights out etc - if I didn't know about it at least a week beforehand, I tend to get a bit panicky :o0

I hope everything goes well for you and it all goes according to "plan" ;o)

Just a quick update - still temping, and am just approaching the end of my fourth cycle. According to FF, I only ovulated on day 29 this month - if I have a 14 day luteal phase, this will give me a 43 day cycle. I am currently on CD33 and would usually be due my period today, but when I went in and put todays temperature on the chart, it altered my ovulation date. No period either, so it seems FF could be right. Not sure exactly why this has happened - maybe all part and parcel of things settling down. Thing is, I'm having some cramps so to my mind, I would think that AF is well on her way and that FF maybe has got it wrong??

Will just have to wait and see I guess.

Hope all you other ladies are doing well ;o)

Hi all, hope it's ok for me to jump on board! :wv I came off the pill at the end of Feb, got my fake AF and now I'm on day 34 and still waiting for my real AF. We're not actively TTC just yet, we said we'd see how things go for now and start trying properly in the Summer. In saying that though, I'd love if it happened before the summer! I'm really naive about it all though, not clued in on all the technicalities! I'm sure I'll learn soon enough though. I was on the pill for 7years and not sure how regular I was/wasn't before I went on it. My sis has PCOS so hoping I'm not in for a bumpy ride. Just ordered some internet HPKs, will have to restrain myself from using them everyday! Good luck and lots of :babydust: to all!

Hey everyone! :wv

Hope ya's don't mind me joining in. Have created a new username for all this TTC malarky!

Well i'm married a few months now, just after the wedding I went through a bit of a broody stage, bought the TCOYF book. Had a long chat with the hubby and we both decided that it would be better to wait a year or so before coming off the pill, give us time to enjoy being newly weds, going on hols, nights out etc. So a few weeks ago I was actually thinking how glad I was that we decided to wait ... that was until last week ...

I had been having a really swollen tummy for a few weeks and when my bladder is full it is rock hard, you can actually feel something in there :ooh. Went to the GP who referred me for an urgent pelvic ultrasound, they found a large fibroid on my womb measuring 9cmx11cm. The gynae told us to not hold off on starting a family and it "get on with it as soon as possible", waiting on an MRI now to confirm everything.

So all that was a bit of a shock, had already took my pill (start of new packet) that day but haven't taken any since, straight onto folic acid and have been reading up on TCOYF (excellent book btw). Withdrawal bleed started on the 31st March, have ordered a thermometer and plan to start temping when my "proper" AF arrives (fingers crossed it's soon), in the meantime i'm keeping an eye on the aul cervical fluid and it all seems to be going to plan according to the book, praying for EW though - can't believe i'm so hung up on checking it every time i'm at the loo :yelrotflmaosmilie:

Anyways, i'm justing hoping that my cycles regulate ok. Have been on the pill 10 years and never had a break although I do remember being regular before the pill. All that aside the fibroid is situated in a place where it shouldn't affect me getting pregnant, it's just risky to leave it in there forever, might have some pregnancy complications but i'll worry about that if/when it happens.

Good luck to all of you, i'll keep ye's up to date. I'm actually excited about charting/temping lol :thnk

Hey girls i just have a question - when i come off the pill and have my withdrawal bleed when is Cycle Day 1? Is it the next time I get a "real" period or the first day of my withdrawal bleed?
