Managed somehow to haul myself around for a run on Sunday, am heading out again at lunchtime. Have been so good - apart from one or two biccies at the mammys on Sunday, I've been a saint. But am still 11st 10 and feeling icky about it. On Saturday night I went to put on my "I have a few extra pounds on me" dress - and it didn't fit :o( Ah well, will keep on going, something has to give eventually.

So much for Eltroxin's magic weight loss properties :o0

Thanks girls - I had to tell ye about that one because I wouldn't normally do so well - 4 or 5 km would be more normal for me.
But it does show that my fitness levels are improving.

Well done lsl - sounds like you're doing well - on the food front as well as the running.

next - don't be too worried - you'll be able to focus.
can you do it the way lsl is - get out at lunchtime for a bit?? That used to work for me too when I worked 9-5......

Unfortunatley I cant excercise at lunch as we have no showers in here. Once I finish my college course next month I'll have more free evening & I'll be able to up the intensity.

I went for a run!! In the rain!! And got drownded!! But I feel fantastic, although slightly nauseous but I think that's just hunger. Really do feel amazing after that, it was just fantastic.

Very, very fortunate to have showers in work (and they are nice and clean and hot too). Right, time for food. DH made chilli last night - think I've earned it!!

You're very welcome Cupcakebabe, sounds like you're fairly committed!

The book I am reading is called "Run, Fat B*tch, Run" by Ruth Field. It's pretty funny but wouldn't be for the sensitive types - part of her recommendation is to stand infront of the mirror and insult yourself! Well, it works for some I suppose. But some of it's hilarious - it's mainly about getting rid of the excuses and moving your ar$e.

My main problem with exercise is that it makes me hungry - does anyone else have this problem? I'm starving, and it's not even three o'clock. Am tempted to pop out to the shop for a cup-a-soup.

Hey all

how are you all getting on?? Since this thread started I've actaully put on weight!!! A discrace I know, it's a mixture of comfort (boo hoo why me) eating & being super busy in work & college so not excerising.

Well that changes today! Im finishing my course this week so will have evenings back to excerise & Ive just given up wheat & I think i might be intolerant (I bloat up like a baloon!) & will focus on reducign my portions in general.

Ladies, you are all doing fantastic,
Went out for another run last night and I was delighted with myself when I got back as I managed 5k in 30 mins, big improvement for me as the first second I get a stitch I usually stop but last night I kept it up. Wonder was it a once off or will I be able to do it again.
Have bootcamp this evening so will try and run again tomorrow.
Still haven't lost a ounce, so I dont know what I am doing wrong, maybe one day I'll wake up skinny and it wont be a painfull slow weight loss.

Me too!! And I am exercising!! But I'm about two pounds heavier than when I started!!

I think the more I exercise the hungrier I am. And then there's the comfort eating along with the killer hormones... but feel a bit more on track this week. Next goal is the June bank holiday...

Dancingfeet, keep up the good work! The benefits will kick in soon, I've no doubt.

Bumping this up cos I'm all motivated again - am joining a gym today (just for three months) and determined to lose 17lbs. I had gone all the way up to 12st on Friday and had a bit of a meltdown. Talked to nurse at clinic and she suggested cutting back on carbs and drinking lots of water as she thought it sounded like I was retaining fluids. Low and behold, she was right cos 4lbs disappeared over the weekend. Am still at the very upper end of my BMI but am back down to 11st 10. Goal is 10st 7. First target - 7lbs between now and the bank holiday weekend. So that's three weeks today.

Anyone else up for a June Bank Holiday challenge??
