When reading all that all that comes to mind is HOW does accidents happen????

We want to try and have kids after we get married but to be honest I hadnt planned on making it into such a mission. Just thought we could stop preventing it. Has anyone JUST gotten jiggy wth it and woop? :o)ll

Hey,

First post in here, so bear with me :-8 ...I have been on the minulet for 10 years and went off it in Feb, I had AF as per usual coming off it, and then about 5/6 weeks later I had a short AF and no AF since so its probably pushing on to 16/17 weeks since I had AF. Can this be normal?

I took a couple of pregnancy tests but no positive sign in sight, and to be honest although i made the decision to come off the pill we haven't made any concrete plans about when we will actively start trying to get pregnant. We are not using any protection but I can see from reading this thread that I was naive to think it would happen straight away.
Also I am experiencing cramps that would lead me to think i will get my period but nothing happens....so strange!

So my real question is if I do not have a period do I still ovulate every month or so, or do you need a period to try get to the highest fertile time?

Anyway if anyone can let me know I would be greatful :duh: :wv

The good news - yep! We fell pregnant on our very first try on honeymoon.... the bad news (for us) it wasnt meant to be :o(

Its good you are reading up on this first though..we didnt. I just came off the pill in Feb. Fell pregnant late april but hadnt a period since March, so when I got to the doc to confirm it in May our dates were completely wrong. I have no idea how I got pregnant around the 23 of April when my last period was around the 20th of March....but im sure thats all down to just coming off the pill..Also, have no idea about my cycles or about cm so will be starting from scratch when my AF finally returns ( 5 weeks since the mc..)

Must buy that book also, sounds like I need an education!!!

Best of luck with it all and the wedding!!! :babydust: :babydust:

Such a great post wollies!
Only new at this ttc and its very helpful!
Came off the pill in November and we were a bit naive thinking things would happen straight away!
Starting to concentrate on it now and this thread is great. :wv

Question, how long did it take for you girlies to become regular after coming off the pill? I was never too regular before the pill, had longish cycles and didn't get my period till 16yrs. Ive only had three periods since November and Im beginning to think should I go to the doctor to get the ball rolling on checking everythings in working order.

Thanks for all the tips ladies.
We are just starting to TTC and was wondering what people think about going on the folic acid table before TTC.
I haven’t seen anything about it here but I thought it was important to take it?
I appreciate any advice.

Great thread but quite scary as well that im actually looking into this!will be going off pill end of this packet and then we're not too sure just stay off protection we think.dont want to start tracking dates or temperatures for a while though just enjoy being off the pill.im nervous i think about what is going to happen are we going to enjoy dtd just like we always do or we going to think its a chore that must be done to conceive?am i healthy enough or should i wait a while, be off the drink completely etc etc.think though il just live my life as i am for a while and see how it goes in a few months im sure il be the most obsessed woman out there though!

Hi girls, this is my first post on ttc and first time trying to get pregnant. Ihave been married since august and came off the pill after the honeymoon. Can anyone tell me, when you come off the pill and start to use the online ovulation calendars do you consider your cycle 21 days or 28 days. I know you don't really know until your first "real" AF but at the moment I am a bit confused as to when I might be ovulating.
