New IVF/IUI Thread

hi AuntieD, I hadn't down regulated twice and they cancelled my cycles I think it is however very unusual for that to happen...I just didn't react to the drugs...this time they cancelled my cycle on a wednesday and I started stimming the following Tues as I had a bleed and just went ahead with the short protocol....try not to worry about it I'm sure it will all be fine for you...to be honest I am the only person I know who didn't down regulate!!!

And here's me thinking I'm the only one I know not down regulating lol
The nurse said that my lining was 5mm and it needed to be under that and the doc said it looked ok but then when my bloods came back it confirmed something that the nurse said was right. I don't understand why they dont just tell you that XYZ levels are high and this is why you cant do it instead of your bloods came back high...what in my bloods was high!!!

I'll have myself in an early grave if I keep worrying! COME ON BODY DOWN REGULATE lol

Did you have to double up on the spray when you were down regulating the third week.

If they cancelled on me I think I'll be postponing my wedding indefinitely and just concentrating on this.

I didn't get the option to double up they just cancelled me first time round...on both occassions...they said there was no point in continuing on....I was heartbroken the first time and asked could i do the short protocol and they said no they left me on the pill longer next time and that didn't work so now on the short protocol...I was so angry with them the second time and a bit :-8

by it all now...but once I bleed the following week I went in for a scan and they said i was good to start....I'll have everything crossed for you that it all goes fine on Friday as I know how upsetting it can be.

As for me. Had my final scan today and everything looks well. Lining well over 8mm so my FET is going ahead as scheduled next week. Stop my sniffer today and start these new progesterone tablets tomorrow.....no messy gel this time round :-8

My sis is taking Moro off to stay wit me after break in, and my other sis on thurs !!
Had 2 embies put back in the other Guys didnt make it!! :o(

but at least I am so lucky to have 2 !!!!!

JB: not long in from work and had to jump online to see how things went. That's fantastic news that you got 2 and both have been transferred. Hope they are snuggling up good and tight..........lashing of babydust and sticky vibes for you :babydust:

you have had a roller coaster last few days, brilliant news about transfer :o)ll

then to have to go back to the break in, its just unreal. i hope your doing ok, remember to relax and give the egg every chance now (i know its prob easier said than done after the shock you had)...

how is everyone else doing...
AFM im waitin for the weekend to come so i can start the pill again and hopefully this time IVF will go ahead....

Hi girls!

First off Jewelb what a rollercoaster of a few days you had! You poor thing being broken into. But congrats on your transfer - 2 embies is brilliant!! Now rest up for the next few days and leave them embies settle in & make a lovely home for themselves for the next 9 months!!!

Afm - injections are going well & I'm definitely getting niggily pains in my ovaries so I'm hoping this is good news! I'm so worried about not responding well even though I'm on a big dose of puregon. I suppose the scan on Fri will tell more.

Deise girl great news that you'll be on the pill the weekend - I can't believe I'm stimming already, the time really flies once you start.

dont worry you'll have big fat juicy follicles!!! just say to your self my follicles are developing perfect and evenly !!!!!

we were so lucky really we were broken into the day before transfer imagine if it was day of, id have dropped them on the spot :o0

but im trying to think positive, there is lots of stuff they could have done or taken and they didnt so im trying to think they were just badly off, and they didnt touch any of my meds which they could have!!

deise hope your feeling tip top to start i think everything happens for a reason and that extra month wait just made you eggs a bit stronger for stims!!!!! best of luck :lvs

Hey Slanket Glad to hear you're doing ok on the injections. Can I ask what dose you're on? My initial dose was to be 250 or something close and now they've increased it to 450. (well they will once I start!)

Well there is a bit of a long story to my dosage - so go grab a cuppa!! When I had my nurse consultation our dr happened to be free so came in to say hi & see how we were etc, I asked him what he thought our chances were and he kept saying the fact my fsh was on the high side of ok (9.5) & my antral follicle count was only 8 that he would have to put me on the highest dosage of meds, etc and basically said not to worry about freezing embryos as we wouldn't have any!! So fast forward a week & my prescription arrived in the post saying the dosage was 300 iu a day (puregon) now this didn't sound very high to me so I rang a nurse in the clinic & she said it was an average dose. I explained to her what the dr had said so she said she would take out my file & get the consultant to have a look, she rang me back later to say to discard the prescription I had & that they were sending me a new one with 450 iu on it. As far as I know this is the highest dosage you can go on.

Do you know what your fsh is?

I've absolutely no clue! The only thing I know is my AMH was 2.6 and that's why we're doing ivf so it must be the fsh is high. Christ I need to start asking more questions!! I'll be writing them all down for Friday now! I just know taht on Friday they had to swap all of my medication (i'll be on puregon too) from 200 to 450 which freaked me out a bit as they never said why adn I think I was more worried about blood tests than asking why (I'm absolutely terrified of needles to be honest!)

As far as I know amh is a much better indicator than the fsh one, as all sorts of things can affect the fsh result such as stress etc., so as you say the result of your amh would be the reason why you have been put on the high dose of puregon.

Don't be worried about the needles - the puregon pen makes it so easy, I'm not a fan of needles either but have no trouble with the puregon pen, its the buserelin I have the trouble with and as you are on the spray you'll be flying!

Jewellb, That's brilliant news. It's a shame you're nothing to freeze but you've 2 transferred so fingers crossed that they strong little fighters.

AuntieD, You must be going mad with all the uncertainty over your cycle, hope you get started proper soon. They will be tweeking the meds depending on your blood and scan results so you respond the best you can, they did it to me in my first one.

Slanket, Glad the injections are going well. I've niggly pains too especially on the left and it seems to be a good sign for me. Hope Friday shows you're responding well

AFM, I had my scan this morning and, for me, it's looking good. I've 9 follies, though 2 are small enough yet, which might not sound like a lot but I'm only on cd7 and it's the most I've had at this stage of a cycle :o)ll

. They are mostly around the same size so I'm feeling more positive now that a change of clinic was the right way to go.
