Hi girls,

I'm just looking for a bit of info, I'm starting buserelin next week on my first ivf & I'm just wondering what your fsh or antral follicle count was, was meds & dosage you were put on & how many eggs you got.

I'll start:

FSH: 9.5. Afc: 8

Meds & dosage: puregon 450 iu

Eggs: ???????

Thanks girls :thnk

Hi Slanket, my cycle was cancelled as you know but I thought I would reply as I would be interested in dosages also:

FSH: 11 (was previously 19 but lowered due to acu)

AFC: Don't know, we were never told the number but am assuming it's bad :o(

Meds & dosage: Puregon 375 (have been told this will be increased to 450 on short proto next time)

I had one large follicle, two medium sized and a few small after a week of stimming. In all I reckon there were only around 10 follicles but who is to know if this would have increased if my meds had been upped a little and a few more days of stimming. We have been told we will not have enough to freeze. It would have been nice to have even one or two to freeze as back-up but now I don't care and am working on the mantra that it only takes one.

Hope all ok with you, are you worried about being a poor responder?

Hi ivy yeah I'm very worried about being a poor responder, at our nurse consultation both the nurse & consultant kept doing on about my fsh being on the high side 9.5 & my antral follicle count only being 8 we always thought our issue was mild male factor ( dh's count keeps going up & down ) but they started saying this at the consultation & it was the first time we heard it so are now thinking that after trying for 2 years & not even a hint of a bfp maybe my eggs are knackered !! They basically also told us not to worry about signing consent forms for freezing as their wouldn't be any to freeze!! So as you can imagine I'm a little bit stressed about how I'm going to respond!!

Slanket in the zita west book she talks about the magic ten as in is best to have it ten or under so 9.5 is not bad at all!!!
Try not to get hung up on numbers, and visualise the numbers as what you want them to be. As in fsh at 5 maybe !! My amh is 4.9 as you can see but I am visualising it to be 14!!!
A few tips I picked up in Emma cannons book!! I find zitas a bit depressing!!! :babydust:

Thanks jewelbride! I didn't think it was that bad either, I thought it was an average number not great, but not awful either, but the way they were going in about it in the consultation you would swear that my 2 ovaries were kaput!!

Hi girls

Don't know what my FSH was but here's what I had

AFC 9
AMH 10
Dose 300 Gonal F
Eggs 11

The nurse told me that your AFC will be a good indication cause whatever is there they would hope to recruit those follicles when stimming. Try not to worry too much cause your meds will help stimulate as many as possible.

Slanket, I cant remember what my FSH was but I know it was also on the high side. I got another blood done, an AMH (anti muellerin hormone) and it was a much better result.

Like you I was worried it was game over at the start of the ivf journey but I needn't have worried as we had the cycle and I got 10 eggs, all of which fertilised. As you can see from my ticker in 15 weeks pregnant. I know I'm very lucky but don't worry - it will happen x

Congrats on your pregnancy babybrain, that's great to hear. What meds & dosage were you on? I've been prescribed puregon I was first told to take 300 iu a day but I've been sent another prescription for 450 iu. I have my down regulation scan next week so I' won't be stimming until next wed/ Thursday.

Don't worry, they will change the dosage all the time. Probably what happened is that you were responding ok on 300iu but they want to move things on a bit faster so have put it up to 450iu. They need to be careful of overstimming so they only increase in very small measures.

I can't remember my exact dosages but it would have been in and around this, def never more than 450iu from what I recall

How are you finding the treatment - its a lot of running isn't it?

Not sure what the diff is to be honest. I was on GF for IUIs and Purg for IVF but I thought it was maybe just different hospitals - sorry. Hope its going well for you

im on stims now 5 days, and i have 15 folicles, 6 are over ten, the others are 6-8 mm's and i have one at 22mm but that was 13 on my base scan, so she said it might just have fluid in it, im happy things are growing, so i just have to visualise them all growing even and mature. !!!! :babydust: :babydust: :babydust: :babydust: :babydust: :babydust: :babydust: :babydust: :babydust: :babydust: :babydust: :babydust: :babydust: :babydust: :babydust: :babydust: :babydust: :babydust: :babydust: :babydust:

congrats babybrain, i looked up the diff and it seams one is more expensive and its just a preference of the diff clinics. :lvs :lvs

jewelb - that's an excellent response. Did you say your AMH was 5 or something? You're doing really well so far! Best of luck with the rest of the cycle!
