2013 Brides?!?!

Re: 2013 Brides?!?!

Postby labodaloca » Sat Jan 22, 2022 8:55 pm

I'm a Sept 2013 Bride. I have my research done on my venues and have appointments to view them in the coming weeks. Have also sourced my Photographer, just waiting on venue confirmation before I book the Photographer. Just need to source a band and then I put the planning on hold for 12 months.

So glad there are other Brides out there. Everyone thinks we are crazy not getting married for 2 years...

Hi girls,

Soooo happy there are a few more 2013 brides out there. Thought I was really getting ahead of myself!! We got engaged in March and we're hoping to get married in March 2013. Seems so far away!! We have not yet booked a venue but we're taking out time looking around so we can see as many as possible before making the big decision.

Never too early i think alot of places already have bookings for 2013 and a few places have told us they will hold 2011/2012 prices for us whereas others are saying to expect at least a 5% increase, so i'm really glad we started now!!

Congrats to all of you and hope you are all enjoying the planning as much as I am :wv

Hi everyone! :wv

Glad to see this thread again!!! We have a bit of a dilemma, we are in the process of applying for planning to build our house so i am starting to wonder if we will be able to afford to do both weedding and house! H2b knows how much getting married in 2013 means to me and is not ruling it out but im starting to feel like it might not happen and dont want to risk booking a date and paying deposits if we cant go ahead with it! Im really excited about the house its everything i could ever dream of but want our wedding too!! :weep

Hi MrsGtobe,

I am in kind of a similar situation, we are saving to hopefully put a deposit on a house around Nov of this year and also trying to save for the wedding!!

Maybe you could sit down with your H2B and do a budget for both the wedding and the house and see how you are fixed then. Also it seems to be a great time to build if you shop around you should be able to haggle with building suppliers!!

I know how you feel I want to be sensible and focus on the house but the wedding planning is just too exciting!!

Sorry to hear about your knee, you are def best to wait till you're on the mend as there is a lot of walking around to do in these hotels!!

We haven't booked anything yet, we have been to see four venues but we want to see a good few more before making the final decision. Have you any venues in mind?

The girl in one of the venues we looked at told us that although the deposit in non refundable there is no problem if we needed to move the date, they would hold onto original deposit and just change the date. Maybe you could ask about that when you go looking. That way you don't have to worry about losing the deposit. You could check if bands or photographers would do something similar?
