oohh i used to live in shannon and said if i was still there i'd get married in bunratty :o0 then he too me adare manor one day..........WOW

tell me about big ideas, yesterday i was all for hiring an old fashioned carousel..then found out it cost £10 at least. so unless i wind tonights euromillions, i can forget that i was told!! he'll get there in the end, mine was like that, then i had him convinces the more we do now, the cheaper and less stressful it will be then....and he believed me?? :o0

am off to get ready to go see these places, fingers crossed one of them is right, cos we can't picture it in any othe place

Yeah Bunratty is fab but my best friend is getting married there next year so that one has to be crossed off the list! Adare is gorgeous but so expensive :eek and I don''t know if I'd be willing to blow the budget on it :o0

Haha that's a good idea, although I know he'll come around to the planning soon even if it's just to shut me up about it :yelrotflmaosmilie: I keep coming up with mad themes and colour schemes too and he is like :ooh

Where are you thinking of? No worries if you don't want to say!

well i'm back living in dublin now, so we're look at finnstown country house hotel, which is great cos it's about 7 minutes drive from my church, and 10 from my house!! it does wedding brilliantly and i've always loved it. the other is the waterside in donabate, its right on the beach, would be amazing for photos. have never been to it so we're going to go there first. not sure which i prefer, maybe the waterside, it's not as close to home, so will actually feel more like going somewhere!

would of loved a castle wedding, that's the only thing he's put his foot down on (so far) was trying to convince him we should look at kilkea castel when it went into receivership O:| so now he's not convinced anymore.

would also love a marquee wedding at a club or pavillion, but there's just nowhere around here and if you don't belong to the clubs it's a nightmare. he was in limerick the other day for work and he rang me to tell me Thomond Park are now doing wedding :eek don't think i'd get away with getting married in a munster rugby stadium, think thats where the family might refuse to come :o0 i'm sure we'll get it sorted anyway.

i know what you mean about coming up with ideas, i changed my mind 4 times yesterday on what colour i wanted the BMs in, he's like, whatever, let me know a few weeks before so i can get my suit, thats all ineed to know!!

Ooooh that will be a tough choice! I've been to a wedding at the Waterside in Donabate and the setting is absolutely to die for :lvs I've never been to Finnstown but have seen photos and it looks absolutely stunning too. Both are beautiful in different ways :)

We are both living/working in Dublin but would like the wedding to be in Limerick so that's another excuse for not seeing any venues yet, it's just awkward to organise times and days for viewing.

Haha Thomond Park - I had a dream/nightmare(?) about that after seeing the episode of Don't Tell the Bride where they got married in Croke Park lol!! My side would love that, they're all big rugby fans, his side... maybe not so much :yelrotflmaosmilie:

my family and his would love it in a rugby stadium, i would if i could have some of the players around as decoration - tommy bowe anyone?? :o0 just not a munster one, i'd be shot!!

i think don't tell the bride was what gave him his idea, he and his housemate were joking they were going to sign us up for it, :ooh can only imagine what theyd come up with, my worst nightmare probably!!!

i'm leaning more towards the waterside, never been there or known anyone who got married there, so it's good to hear it fab, getting really excited to go see it, just wish he would hurry up and come home so we can go!!

Haha I'm sure Tommy wouldn't mind hanging about for a few photos sure :o0

Men are unreal - who knows what they'd come up with if we left them to their own devices, and then they say we're the ones being unrealistic :yelrotflmaosmilie:

I know what you mean about having it somewhere different. I'm the same, I'd just like it to be somewhere not too close to home, a change of scenery from other weddings I've been to.

Best of luck for this afternoon anyway, I'm sure you're buzzing with the nerves now :o)ll

i've no idea where to start looking at photographers. don't want to spend a fortune, want someone who'll be "invisible" in the church, and do some amazing snapshots during the day, they're my fave kind of photo's!! and loads of me and my dress of course, and maybe a few of himself :o)ll

going to look at a few more venues next weekend, but am still so in love with the one we saw yesterday.

then just have to check if my divorce papers are valid here :-8 i really hope they are, cos otherwise i'm screwed, then if my church will let me marry in it, so fingers crossed it all works out ok.

have list of band recommendations from friends who've spent the last few weeks at weddings, so going to start looking at them when we get the venue and church confirmed :o)ll

then SAVE SAVE SAVE!! i'm planning to get small bits as i go along, and hopefully it'll all fall into place.

Really want to go dress shopping, can't wait to start trying them all on, thank god i get so many weekdays off work so won't be too crowded when i'm going and can take my time :o)ll

hi girls jumping on board this ship also as hopefully if the funds are right i'll be a 2013 bride aswell, got engaged for my birthday in april came as a big big suprise didnt expect it at all as h2b kept saying he couldnt afford a ring but low and behold he came up trumps with the ring and all,i love it and makes it more special that he choose it himself. his brother and sister are both getting married next yr so we decided 2013 would be our yr,just need to start saving saving saving, we have our priest organised just need to go and see about the church now, i dont know if we can get the church that we really want as its a friary and they had stopped doing weddings in it a few yrs ago so not sure if this is still the case,we went down but the priest in charge was away as his brother died so need to go back down and see if its possible, but we have a back up plan just incase, i have brpchure upon brochure here for venues, just beed to organise seeing them now,but funds are very low at the moment so wont be able to put a deposit down till after xmas :o( , my head is fried already looking at things but i'm sure we will get there cant wait so excited
