Ours is at 2pm. It's not going to be dark before 4pm/4.30pm on the Saturday unless we're awful unlucky with the weather - there'll be loads of light for photos.

Hi Ladies

Well I have read the last 14 pages since I was last on the thread and I am getting a little bit nervous. I have added myself to the list below.. Keenfish we are also getting married on the 13th October. To be honest i initially wanted to get married in August or Sept time but the 13th of October was the next available date that our hotel had on a friday or a saturday. The date is growing on me now - it has a nice ring to it - 13.10.12

You all have got so much done. I thought that I had quite a bit done till I read the thread. Now i am gettting slighly panicked. We had our pre marriage course at the weekend and I have to say that I really enjoyed it.

The things that we have done our the following:

GROOM Booked - most important!!!!
Church booked
Venue picked and 2 deposits paid
Band picked and deposit paid
DJ picked and deposit paid
Photographer picked
Videographer picked
Dress picked and deposit paid - should be in the shop in July
bride shoes picked and paid
Cake is going to be made by my aunty
We are going to use my dads car and the bridesmaids and best men can make their own way there!!!
Church singer picked and deposit paid - we are having maria fitzgerald and i am so so excited about it.
Flower girls dress picked and paid for
Wedding rings picked and paid for
Honeymoon booked - australia and new zealand here we come!
My sister is doing my flowers and I have a fair idea of what we want
Pre Marriage course done
Register of intent is booked for 25th June
Cake topper ordererd
Flip flops bought

Now for what we havent done yet (oh lord!)
Bridesmaid dresses, shoes, jewellery etc - this is the one that is causing me the most anxiety
Grooms and best mens, pageboy suits to be ordered
Mass Booklet - decide on readings, gospel, prayers and finalise music with maria.
Unity candles and memorial candle
Ribbons for car and cake
Flower girl shoes
pre nup enquiry to be done
Gifts for all of bridal party
Menu tasting to be done
Meet with DJ and photographer
Write my speech
Oh and we just have the small thing of trying to find and buy a house together!!!!!! - its only a small matter that we have nowhere to live after we come back from our honeymoon!!!

Oh flip - feeling a little ill now.

Hi there Dimples111 and fellow October 13th Bride! Hilarious, we're thinking of Australia and New Zealand too as a honeymoon destination. Might see you over there! We haven't booked anything yet but it's a definite possibility. Do you mind me asking who you booked with and did you get a good deal?
Also, you have LOADS done! Don't be fretting at all! You're so on top of it by the looks of things, so you've no reason to panic. Just try to enjoy it all. Easier said than done, I know!!

Just under 5 1/2 months now. Eek!!!

Hi everyone! We're getting married on Oct 19th this year, am starting to panic madly that I haven't got enough done. Dress, venue, band, church all booked but finding it SO hard to find a good photographer. Loads of them seem to photoshop their online images instead of actually taking good shots with the camera..HELP!! I got a quote from an amazing photographer today for €2400 and nearly dropped.

Also, has anyone done the pre-marriage course with naomi instead of accord? Met them in the RDS and they seem lovely, it's only on one day instead of a day and a half and our priest is happy with whatever we choose but am wary because I haven't heard from anyone about it.

Soo many things I want to ask you all but I don't want to bore you all to tears!

x

We're doing australia aswell. Booked with Trailfinders. Never booked anything like it before so not sure if its a good deal but lets say its about a qtr of the total wedding cost. Ouch.

Doing Thailand first so will be in Aus from 8th to 24th November (Sydney, Uluru, Cairns).

Can't wait

Bloody hell - just thought of another thing for the list - Make up and hair trials and all the beauty things that go with it! Anyway At the races yeah Maria is absolutely fabulous . I think that she is well worth the money and she is so nice to deal with too. Keenfish we did the same as tipp bride and booked it through trailfinders. We only booked the flights mind you and they were not too bad with the price. It was €3,500 for the 2 of us and that included all of our internal flights within australia and new zealand. I did find them very informative. But I did find their hotel prices quite expensive so we said that we would do them ourselves. It is going to be a VERY expensive trip but we both agreed that we are never going to get a chance to take off 5 weeks from work again and be able to do this.

Have HSE appointment on Monday, apart from that and dithering over centrepieces, no further updates!

Oh, actually, I lie. I've decided that instead of buying all the stamps to post the invites, that I'm going to buy a couple every time I go to the shop or post office so that it's not another big bill.

My first stamp is in the pot :o0

We've got our pre marriage course next week and trying to get all the church paperwork sorted out. I'm still dithering about my accessories and little bits. Think I need to get my act together and book a hairdresser, is that something people already have sorted or am I ok?

I'm still dithering with hairdresser too! I am just a bit lost, I live and get my hair done away from my homeplace, where I'm getting married and it seems none of the local hairdressers are recommended by any of my friends at home so I'm a bit lost on what to do. Not sure about getting one of the ones you see at shows who just come to your house that day as I'd be worried they wouldn't know my style or hair!

It's a lot of thought really, considering I'll probably just get something really basic and classical...just remember hating my hair at my debs and how much I hate the photos!

So ye have a new member to the October Brides :o)ll

Myself and hubbie to be are getting married October 23rd (which is also the date he asked me out) Getting married on our 4 year anni :lvs . . . Now we've no excuse to forget anniversaries :o0

I Wish i could read all 16 pages of what every one has to say so please forgive me if I'm asking questions people have already answered them! But i will try and make it through the 16 pages in the next day or two !

So a little info on my wedding : We're getting married in Florida ..
Hubbie grew up there til he was 18 and then left so he still has all his family and friends over there and my crew are going to do the traveling! Thankfully i have received a fantastic response from people about attending the wedding! A holiday and a wedding all jammed into one!

We can decide on if we should do a beach wedding or take a hotel on the beach !
I'm pretty up to date with having a lot of stuff covered ! BM dresses are picked (Still have to get the jewls for them)
Both Mothers have found what they wish to wear on the day.
Any who i won't ramble on anymore! ...

Just giving "y'all" some info about me and my big day ! :)

Welcome LivingMyDreams....your day sounds fabulous. At least you can be pretty sure of the sun - something us October brides may not have much hope of!

Can't believe how quickly time is passing. I think things are coming together for us, but I'm sure I've forgotten loads of things. Have decided on invites and will be spending the next few weeks putting them together. Also waiting for first BM dress to arrive from BridalDreamDress - fingers crossed!

How's it going for everyone else?
