Hi girls, I'm defo feeling bigger in the boob department as well, but haven't gotten measured in a long time. Where did you all get measured?? I usually just buy in dunnes or penneys, and they obviously don't have professional measurers!!

I think Debenhams or M&S are prob the most accessible for measuring SS, must head in there myself & get it done soon.

Good Morning Ladies,

Had a midwifes appointment today and got to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time. It didn't seem that loud/strong to me and midwife said it was fast and that I wouldn't want it any faster. (150bpm) It was great!! She advised me to have flu injection, she said alot of pregnant women are having it but I don't see why I need it, have any off you had this??? I hate taking anything now that I am pregnant.

I have had a rotten headache for two days now, like one you get when you have been out in the sun all day and are severely dehydrated. I probably just don't drink enough.

What did your midwife do at your appointment? I was only in 10 minutes, she listened for heartbeat and took my blood pressure, that was it.

BlueP, drink plenty of water and you wont be as dehydrated. terrible having headaches! O:|

in relation to the flue jab, i haven't been advised to take it, i did get the swine flu jab on DD thoughm two years ago!

the midwife apt sounds about right, basically they just check your urine, weigh you and check BP and have a little listen to heartbeat and make sure your tummy is right size. :wv

im still smothered today, so stayed at home from work, back in tomorrow but have a half day as dd has her 24 month developmental, should be interesting!
weather is total crap isnt it! 1st of may!! yeah right! :eek

Girls I get my flu jab every year and it is a godsend. I used to get a cold each winter which would end up in a chest infection which would take about a month to clear. Since I started getting the flu jab I might get the sniffles but that's it.

I also have a mw apt tomorrow but I thought i would get a scan? Will I not??

Babybrain,
I wouldn't have thought you would get a scan at the midwifes appointment, not unless it is hospital or that. My mw appointments are at my GP surgery but maybe they do things different in other parts of the country, not sure. My next scan is 6 weeks time when I will be 20 weeks. Can't wait!!

Is this the way with everyone in Limerick? My next mw app is in July but my doc is sending me for a private scan @ 20wks cos she didn't think I was getting a scan until August? Confused :hic I'm also with the midwives clinic. Must go home & check the appointment card again just in case

Ladies, I dunno what kind of system we have in Cork but I must see my doc/ nurse 4 weeks after my hospital appointment which are kind of working out that I will be seen by GP/ hospital every 4 weeks :eek :eek :eek

Spent my lunch time in Smyths looking at travel systems!!!! I really like this buggy but its only new on the market? It folds down to something like a childs toy and its quiet light and compact? The car seat attachment is sold separately & is secured by seat belt. The lady said there is no additional safety benefits to car seats that use a base verses using the seat belt? Not sure how true that is?? I really like it though, if anyone has any feed back!!

RE baby bags when out with the baby....do you actually need to bring much with you when out with the baby with your pram? like would it just be changing nappy and things..food etc..so maybe you could squeeze most things if you have a big bag yourself do you think?

Ya Keeley, light and very compact when folded and very easy to fold too. They say that its from birth to 3years but I think after 2 years you'd probably just want a small stroller for popping in and out of the car. Yes the basket was quiet small on it and I was concerned about that. As for changing bags, I got this one at the P&B fair last week and it comes with clips for the buggy.....
http://www.bellababy.ie/mode-tote-blue-vine-p-1793.html there's lots of space in it that I would think would hold all the essentials but I suppose I'll only learn that once the arrival is here!!!!

Well if I'm honest I brought my mum to the fair and she bought it for me out of pure excitement!!! Actually she has been picking up packs of wipes, vests etc... whenever she calls over to me (she lives about 5 mins away!!!!). Myself and hubby went to Ikea at the weekend and checked out a cot & changing unit that I think we will go for, I got a 10% voucher at the P&B fair if I buy before the end of June which I think I will take advantage of!!! As for buying the buggy, once I have made a decision on which model we want I think we will just buy it. I'm so OCD I will need everything organised. I know lots of people think its bad luck but I'm trying to think positive!!!! I really like that buggy but to be fair its the only one I've really looked at and tried to fold & change the attachments etc so who knows if hubby and I go looking together we might come up with a million more choices!!!!!

yeah i like to be super organised myself so i'll have everything bought 3 months before probably but i think i'll see when to pick up the buggy..was looking at ikea for cots and changing tables..what ones did you think was best? it's hard to tell when looking on the net..probably best to go to the shop.. :o0 :o0 i wasn't going to bother with a changing unit but i think everyone thinks it's quite handy to have cause you have everything there that you need when changing the baby so i think i will get one :o0
