Yup well we were in Dublin for the weekend so made it our business to stop off in Ikea on way home because I wanted to see the quality too. This is what I am leaning towards and after starting another thread on here, Ikea furniture seems to get the thumbs up from everyone so far?!?!?!?

great babydust...yes that's the changing unit i was thinking..simple and loads of storage...i think i'm more swaying towards a cot bed rather than a cot...i'll look for your thread and put the question in cause was thinking to start a thread myself..advice to buy a cot or a cotbed? :o0 :o0 :o0

I think the only negative to getting a cot bed is if you are planning to have another baby soon after your first, your first baby would need his/ her own bed as the new baby would use the cot? We have a spare bed anyway so thats whay we are going for that type of cot but I know Ikea do some lovely cot beds aswell.

yeah good point babydust, i will be planning number two i think maybe when baby is 9 months or soo...what age would you put a child in a single bed? 3 years of age ya think or later? anyone out there that had a baby a year after 1st baby..what did you buy ...a cot or cot bed?

Sorry for all my questions today..cheers babydust :o0 :o0

Thanks mammy, was just curious, I'm not expecting a scan at the mw clinic so if I get one it'll be a bonus :)

HI ladies, looks like ye have all been busy in the shops this weekend! I am getting all excited reading about you looking at cots and stuff Keeley and Babydust!

Myself and OH went looking at buggies on Saturday. OH is still fixated on this monstrous Phil and Teds double buggy (he has high hopes for our future family!!!!). I found it so heavy and awkward - the two of us were in the shop for ages trying to fold and unfold it, but I can't see me being able to lift it. He thinks we need a tank for this baby!

In fairness we have hardly anything else to buy - family are giving us everything, which is just brill. I always thought I would be funny about that and want to get all our own new stuff, but not so, the recession seems to have made me more practical :o0

Tried on a pair of maternity jeans at the weekend from my sister. They are hilarious to wear but so so so comfy. Can't see me back in normal ones any time soon!

Re: bras, I had to get new bras about 4 weeks ago, went from a 34B to 36C I think. I got measured in Debenhams and bought 2 half decent bras there, then went to penneys for the rest. They're all non-wire and I do feel a bit weird in them. I thought wired bras were bad as they block the milk ducts? Is this not the case? If so I am going back for wired bras then!!

keeley- ive have my DD in a single bed and shes 2 next month, she prefers the bed rather than the cot so it was easier to move her, I had just found out i was expecting also, so it made sense to get her used to the bed now rather than when baby arrives.
We had a set of bunkbeds in my SD's room for when she comes to stay, but we took them down and used the bottom bunk for DD, as its lower than a normal bed and theres also a pull out bed underneath, in caase anyone stays over etc> or if she is poorly, one of us can sleep in with her, if shes not in our bed, The cot we have - was given to me by my sister, so I didnt have to buy a cot :wv

Missc- are you going public? usually they write on your card when to go to gp for a check up in between hospital apts. maybe give your gp a call and see what they say. I was in with gp for confirmation, then had my scan, then got to visit gp again after that, and in between that have been to midwife clinic twice, and gp 3 wweeks ago, i think... and next week im due back to gp for check up and have anomaly scan the week after that! im not back to hospital with midwife until june 19th so ill be going to gp in between.x hth :wv

Hi girls come of you have been busy doing your research on buggys and cots etc. I would go and try out as many as possible and ask people in the street what they think of their buggy. Most people would be happy to give you feedback. You become obsessed looking at buggys everywhere you go.

I have the britax b-dual. It is a tank of a buggy but turns into a double. I just need to buy the second seat. I am very happy with it as my DS still naps in it at the weekend. I could never get him to nap in his cot. Things will be so different on this baby :o0

As for the cot issue. I went with a regular cot and I have no intention yet of moving DS out of it. I will buy a crib for this baby and that should do until about 6 months so DS will be over 2.5 when I move him out. He sleeps great for us so why rock the boat.

As for the clothes, i find next dot perkins and new look the best. H&m have nice bits in at the mo. Its trial and error. If you see something nice and it doesnt yet fit I would buy it as the sizes will be gone when you go back. You grow in and out of maternity clothes.

My card from the hospital (which I got at the first app @ 10wks) said when to visit my doc (Says something like 5/10/15 which means go every 5 weeks or so, I'll double check it when I get home) & then has my next app at the mw clinic & the next scan on the card too.

Only a checkup probably next tues but going to ask can i have a wee sneak at the baby by doing a wee scan..if a machine is available..they probably will say no...just want to see it to believe it again :o)ll :o)ll

buggies again...saw Quinny Buzz 3 Cabriofix Traveller for 570..anyone looking at this? have a car seat, pram and buggy iin with it..quite good price i think :o)ll

http://www.houseofbaby.co.uk/shop/Quinn ... 4Aod4CwR_g

and i have decided i'm just going to go with the cot now instead of a babycost if planning number 2 after a year or so..makes more sense :o0 thanks babydust for making my mind up :o0 o and i'm raing, missed a baby fair it was on end of april and none coming up now in the coming month :duh:

Thanks ladies. Will ring gp 2moro and check it out with them. Can't remember at all from dd, it's mad how quickly u forget.

Bump feels big again today. Skin has that tight stretched feeling. It's good to have people saying I look pregnant now tho. :)

On dd we bought a cotbed, she moved into bed part around her 2nd b'day and then wen she was 3.5 we bought bed with play/storage area underneath. Wouldn't bother with cot bed again tbh gonna just get cot this time and then junior bed. Paid a fortune for cotbed in mamas and papas last time and the thing was in bits. DH had to DIY it back together I don't know how many times. :eek

Morning ladies, well im shattered after having one of the greatest days ever yesterday. It was out first anniversary & hubby completley surprised me by being one of the most romantic men on the planet.... Bless him :xxx

To top it off I had appointment with gp yesterday & had a lovely chat and she reassured me about alot of things as I had an Loop Treatment from the Colposcopy Clinuc a few years back so worried about my cervix. Anyway she took me totally by surprise when she said she'd have a listen for the heartbeat! It was my first time hearing our little bundle & it gave me shivers. She said he was mad kicking away & you could hear it on the scan!!! I came out to hubby beaming from ear to ear. Felt a little guilty that I told him no need to come in with me now though :-8

Anyway I'm on air still today and have been having little bubbles in my tummy all night as I had alot of ice cream last night at dinner!!!!

How is everyone else? Can't wait to go to Spain Sunday to get away from this horrendous weather!!!
