Its def migraine if light hurts your eyes, i would suggest a trip to good pharmacy where they can give you something over the counter if its sinus or migraine, if it continues for a few more days or gets worse i would go see your gp, dont suffer.

I hope you feel better, nothing worse than a headache x

You know my H2B has been telling me I sound stuffed up over the last couple of days. I don't have a could however I feel i have mucus/phlegm (t m i sorry :-8 ) at the back of my throat that I can't get rid of. Would this be sinus related do you think? Had bronchial pneumonia over Xmas hols so was totally wiped out but haven't had so much as a sneeze since....

:o0 :o0 You can come clean my house anytime!! ;o)

I get a 'hormonal' headache the day I finish my pill for my 7 day break. It's horrendous and not even Nurofen Plus gets rid of it but it's not a migrane. I know because I suffer with migrane. Thank God I rarely get them because I vomit with the pain they are so bad and I can't string a sentence together. I would definately look into it being your sinuses, also absolutely awful to deal with. I just think that with the combination of phlegm in your throat and it going on so long, it could well be your sinuses. Do you have any pain in your face? Like around you cheekbones or around your eyebrows?

If you have any kind of congestion whether it be in your nose or your head it can def affect your sinuses by blocking them, the way i feel when i have a sinus headache is like a need to release a valve! Do you feel pressure in your head (that sounds so odd :o0 )
Even simple things like vicks vaporub dissolved in hot water by your bed can help,
I do find that when i have it i feel nauseous with it also, sounds very like your symptoms but then again i could be wrong.

eefc, I used to get what I thought was migraines...same as your describing, taking to the bed etc. It turned out I have sinus problems. A sinus headache has the same symptoms as a headache and it was only going to the doctor one easter sunday a few years ago that he said he could tell by my eyes that it was it.

I had been taking paracetemol, nurfoen, migraleve..everything to try get rid of it when all I needed as a sudofed or a form of decongestant. By the time i went to the doctor it had grown into a full blown infection and needed antibiotics.

now it might not be that but it might be no harm to give it a try. xxx

Yeah I wonder if it is the Sinus- I found the phlegm thing a bit weird this week alright but my nasal airway is perfectly fine- can breath normally. I am a little wheezy alright this week (I have asthma) but that isn't really out of the norm.

My eyes are pretty sore alright but no mucus or anything coming out of them. Ears are ok too I think- they aren't popping or anything.

I have sudofed at home- should I take these over the weekend? I could only get an appointment for doc for Tues morning :(

I was the same as you..I never felt like I was stuffed up with I did have phlegm and sometimes a weird feeling when I would swallow. Just try one or two sudofed and see does it help. they are pretty low dosage so there is no harm in trying.

Let us know how you get on!! xxxx

Are you sure it's a migraine? Are you getting any other migraine-like symptoms - pain only on one side of the head, throbbing, nausea, sensitivity to bright lights?

If it was relieved by the exercise then it sounds to me more like a tension headache. Good cure for tension headache is a good neck and back massage. Hope you're feeling better.

oops, didn't read the last few posts about sinuses....that could be it too. Maybe get some over the counter sinus medication from the pharmacy over the weekend and sure get the massage anyway....you deserve it and it might help!

Hi,

I feel your pain, i suffer so bad with them, i am talking a headache everyday and a major migraine once every two weeks sometimes three!

I have a long list of things that affect me... Bananas, garlic, spicy food, diluted stuff, alot of dairy and fruity sweety (opal fruits r mentos n things like that!)

One common cause for women can be low iron or very common is low vitamin b12 so it may be worth your while gettin it checked? If it is low galfer and cyctamon (spelt wrong but ask the chemist they ll no!!!) tabs r good.

Also if you take sugar nd have changed it to sweetner it can add to it (not cause it tho) due to a drop in sugar levels!

Hope some of this helps, i have loads more but i dnt wanna bore ye!! Try an ice pack wrapped in a towel on your forehead or where the pain is try lie on it! Or if u are very very bad try tie a scarf or something round your head to release some pressure...

Pm if u need xx :o(

Sounds like it may actually be a sinus infection - if so, over the counter remedies won't do the trick. Definitely see your doc just be sure - if it is an infection you'll need anti-biotics to clear it up.

First time I had an infection I had a terrible headache, a sort of woozy feeling where I was veering over to the left when I walked, 'gunk' (as I call it!) flowing down the back of my throat and this was making me feel nauseous and I just felt dreadful. I've had a couple of infections since and all with the same symptoms but mostly I manage to control the sinus problems now - I only drink soya milk and cut way back on dairy products - thankfully the headaches happen only rarely now.

Good luck wiht the doc - if it is an infection the relief will be enormous when the medication starts to kick in.

I know it's going to sound crazy but here's another thought seeing as you haven't gotten one before, could you have a kidney infection? A few years ago I got what started off as a mild headache but after a few hours the pain became almost unbearable and I became violently ill. DH was so worried he brought me to the out of hours doc who thought it was some sort of virus but DH decided to bring me to A&E as he didn't think they were right. Anyway it turned out I had a kidney infection. I was shocked as my only symptom was the pain in my head but apparently there is some form of kidney infection you can get that causes this.

I have suffered migraines for years and I had to change to a different pill. Diet and alcohol definitely do have a bearing with me.

Well the month of April went by with no headaches...

Then Sunday just gone- headache arrived- ignored it. Noticed I was phlegmy (thinking back now, hacking in the mornings and having to clear my nose etc TMI sorry :-8 ) and day number 6 today and I can barely hold my head up straight .Doctor at 3pm. I will be so cross if I have another Sinus infection. Is there anything I can do to prevent or avoid them?

(left it longer this time as pain wasn't so bad really until Wed night- haven't really slept since then. Couldn't run a brush through my hair properly this morning- head far too sore)

All the same symptoms as last time but more so that I feel like someone has pumped a load of air into my skull and my head is on the verge of exploding :weep :weep :weep :weep

eefc hope you are feeling better this evening. I suffer shocking with sinus problems on and off. If in spring thats it till the winter!! The only thing that has given me relief is to take zirtek, i think once I have had an infection the pollen can iritate (sp?) the sinus and its a vicious circle.
