Hi girls
Any room for another?
This is a great thread and never thoguht Id be joining it, always thought the issue was with me.
DH got his SA done last week and there was zero sperm in it. We are devestated and meeting with a specialist in the fertility clinic next week to disucss options etc. Im hoping that its a blockage and that there is some sperm in there that we can get with a biopsy if needed. Never though we'd be looking at the IVF route but now I really hope we can do it..
Anyone else in the same situation now :lvs :lvs
TTC since June 2010

Hi 2010Mrs
Sorry to hear you are in this situation, it sucks doesnt it. I was the same as you -always thought the problem was with me and so we got the shock of our lives to find out there was a problem with DH. We are not exactly the same as there are some sperm there but less than 2 million at last count.
There was someone on here recently in the same situation as you whose husband had a biopsy and there was a blockage and she managed to get pregnant after that naturally so there is hope at least.
Cant remember who but you should be able to find if you want to search.Have your fertility clinic suggested biopsy to you ?
We hummed and hah-ed about that option but time is against us so think we will probably go straight to icsi. I was slightly concerned about putting DH through the trauma of that if we werent going to get anywhere with it but its so hard to know. Best of luck with it, theres plenty of help on these forums.

Thanks for the response. I'll take a read through the thread and see!!.
Yes the clinic have suggested a biposy as an option, we have our meeting with them next week to discuss everything, I think they need to determine if there is a blockage or not first. I actually think I hope its a bloackage and even if we can go down the ICSI/IVF route then with retrieved sperm. We are willing to do anything.
Hubbie the same
The best of luck to you and I hope all works out :lvs :lvs

Hi girls,

I am just wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to go for IUI if DH has low motility?

Hi girls ....
Like most of you, I was a weddingsonline bride and now I'm trawling the TTC forum (new username) where, like before, people are so good for sharing experiences and knowledge gained along the way. :thnk

We have been TTC our 1st for about a year. We're both mid 30s(ish!!!)- facing up to alot of things but not my age! :o0 Last month we began getting checked out. My day20 bloods are ok but we got a bit of a fright when DH's motility was only 27%. He's been asked back for a retest.

Sparing you too much detail ... we hadnt DTD in about 2 weeks before his test and he says he hadn't drunk alot of water b4 the test (I've heard dehydration can cause bad results). It's been a big setback for him getting the letter about the test and i'm clutching at any straw I can to try keep our chins up. Men really take things like this harder than we do...its almost like their masculinity comes into question. I feel so sorry for him.

Any advice or similar situations?

Hi! It's a long time since I have been on here. A very long time! So long I can't remember my original login hence the new user name. I started this thread a long time ago. We have been TTC almost 5 years and had a failed IVF in 2009. The help and support I got from this forum was amazing. Only recently have I been in touch with cheer bear bride. I hope all my dear friends from this forum have their own little ones, hopefully a few of them. We applied for adoption and were gearing up for our 2nd IVF in sims. Last week I got a call from the nurse to arrange my SIS. When she asked me what day of my cycle I'm on I began to realise it had been a while. As you can imagine it was great shock when I did a test last Wednesday and got my very own, first ever BFP. It was an even bigger shock to find out I'm all ready 7 weeks pregnant.

Anyway I didn't post this just to spread my good news but just to give some hope to you amazing women who are going through this overwhelming hard time. we did two things different this month. DH took wheatgrass. I took wheatgrass and royal jelly.

I think of you all the time and I'm constantly sending you pink, sparkly baby dust. Love Elle Woods. Xo

Elle that's amazing news you must be on cloud 9, massive massive congrats!! Can I ask what male issues your oh had?

Tea bag sorry to hear about your oh results. They say that a man should ejaculate no more or no less than 3 days before a test so definitely not having sex for 2 weeks could effect the results. Also he should take zinc & maybe q10 which are both good for sperm.
