Bazinga - only on Metformin for 3 months but just 2 per day (1000mg) should be on 1500mg. Findng it easier on the new brand - meyer as opposed to glucophage brand which gave me terrible symptoms. Frm experience I kow that I need to eat a substantial amount before I take the tablet otherwise I will gt cramps. As a result I fnd I have to eat more at mealtimes than I normally do so no snacking anymore ;o(
im on day 26 now. Have had symptoms but could mean either pregnnt or pre-menstrual. trying hard not to read too much in, will do a test over the weekend.....

Hi girls,

Bazinga, sounds to me like you had all the signs of ovulation - and you've a good idea of what it used to be like. I honestly have no idea when I used to ovulate, it's a complete guessing game with me though the cewm is always a good sign. I know what you're saying about the temping - it drove me crazy so had to stop it. Not too long to go on your unofficial 2ww anyway and i'd say we can call it an official one! fx for you!

Lavender pink, sounds like all going good for you on the Clomid. I was put on 50, then 100 of it a year ago. I don't think 100 is too high and hopefully it'll do the trick for you.

missiegold, best of luck with the waiting. Not too long more now. hope you get your bfp!

Afm, well Bazinga the bleeding was a bit too heavy for an implantation bleed but of course I did a hpt hoping for a miracle anyway - another bfn for the collection! I think the meds have messed me up a bit and feeling really yucky at the moment, between tiredness and headaches. Clinic said that sometimes you don't get a proper af with the meds but you need a proper one to start another cycle and now if I don't get proper one by 5th Dec I'll have to wait till the new year to start back cos they close for christmas hols. Acu can't force things too much either if I just don't have it in me to give. So fed up now!

Hope everyone else is doing better

Hi all. I'm a long time wollie but created a new profile for TTC. I have PCOS diagonsed since my early 20's and have been on the pill since then....am now 33. I went to see the doctor yesterday and of course the first thing she said was that I'd have to loose weight... I know I have a lot to loose - about 5 or 6 stone... but as most of you can probably sympathise with....it's bloody hard to shift it. So have started a weight loss drug to try and help me with it and have stopped the pill. So i'll just have to wait and see how things go...see if I get a period or not. She says to come back in about 3 months time and if I haven't started a cycle (which I highly doubt I will), that she'll send me for bloods to recheck the severity of the PCOS or else if I have started a cycle then she'll do a 21 day blood to see am I ovulating.... So just wanted to say hi to you all really.... have been reading through the thread and it's got some great advice. Just one question that maybe somone can answer..... does it have to be a gynie..sp?! that prescribes metformin or clomid or can the GP do that? Thanks a million and looking forward to going through the journey with you all...

Hi MaybeBaby. No A GP can perscribe Metformin but they would have to diagnose PCO/PCOS first. Can be done in an out patient public hospital or private gynas practice. Generally (in my experience) the private will do an internal ultrasound and diagnose faster/immediately pretty obvious if they see the "pearl necklace" otherwise bloods to check FSH/LH levels.
For weightloss there are some very good online sites I have found http://www.nutracheck.co.uk/ Its paid by direct debit but costs only about €5 or €6 per month. You can keep an online food diary, connect from your mobile and use the forum and get advice from nutritionists so well worth the cost. there are also some great (free) aps on android if you have a smartphone can't think of the one off hand but will check later.

Had some spotting yesterday - only a tiny bit when I used the bathroom - twice (10DPO) nothing today, but Im guessing its probably too late for an implantation bleed :o( Oh well, next month.....

:babydust: :babydust: to all.

Welcome maybe baby, ur in the right place for any questions, the girls here are great with advice & support, best of luck & :babydust:

Missygold, I'm the same as u with metformin, can only manage 2 a day as the 3rd is just too much, might mention the new brand to doc for next prescription to see if that helps, thanks for info! Wishing u a patient & speedy tww! :babydust:

Rogue, might still be early to test, fx j might have just had implantation bleed :babydust: I'm in the same boat as u with trying to work out dates etc with the clinic closing dates for Christmas especially as this would be my first cycle on the injections, it's a nuisance! Fx neither of us will need it as BFP will arrive first :) would be lovely to have a Christmas announcement :stork:

AFM got opk+ yest, couldn't believe it as I was starting to give up especially as it was cd41! Was due to start provera tomorrow & then phone clinic for cd2 scan & start injections for 1st cycle so fx won't need any of it as I'm officially on tww :)

Chat soon girls :babydust: :babydust: :babydust:

Hi girls,

Welcome maybebaby2012, hope your body sorts itslef out soon enough after being on the pill. At least you are already looking into things and looking at diet etc. I'm sure you know with pco that we should have a low-Gi diet so just switching to that should make a difference and the pill can add weight too sometimes. My Gp sent me to a gynae to diagnose the pco but some GPs probably do it themselves. I think gynaes could be a bit more proactive about things though.

Missiegold, did the spotting turn into Af? I don't know much about implantation bleeding but wouldn't have thought it was too late myself...

Mrs. BB, great stuff - you ovulated naturally! Must be a great feeling, i have no idea if I ever have by myself in the last 2 years...was going to get a monitor but might drive myself mad with it. Fx for you that you won't need to go with the injections now :) Any symptoms yet on the tww? I know how it is to read into every twinge!

Afm, I called the doc I see in the clinic and got him to do a scan on me after the bleeding stopped and the lining was still thick and had a cyst aswell, surprise surprise! So acu was happy to bring on proper bleed again after I told her. Have started now today so am really hoping it will be a good one and I might be able to get another shot at a cycle before Christmas if even just to get the dosage closer to being right for me. Think it's going to be a busy month in work so would be hard to juggle everything this month but will see how it goes!

Hope everyone else is well.

Hi Folks,
Had the dye test on the 18th and now have to wait on the results of that. It was uncomfortable and felt a bit crampy but bearable. The wrst part was after when I felt faint - think I had myself all worked up with it although the doctor said it was normal.

Today I'm on day 16 of my cycle and am experiencing cramps and spotting. the doc had said you might experience bleeding 1 week after - I didnt experience anything worth talking about until now.

Sorry I can't offer any of you'se ladies advice - i'm only starting out on this journey. I find everyones posts very supportive and give me hope x

Missie Gold - the 1500 a day is hard going! I'm on Winthrop brand, might ask for Meyer next time I'm changing prescription, only just changed my new one yesterday.

Rogue - Body playing tricks me thinks! BFN last Saturday, and another at the weekend. So Don't know what is going on! No period yet either, but boobs are killing me so should arrive soon (hopefully) Unless it plans on holding out until Jan to make the one year anniversary O:|

How are you all? I'm still getting CM and sore boobs and twinges all over. So pimping for my period. Lucky us eh?

Hi girls,

missyt, hope you're doing ok now after the dye test.

bazinga, sorry about the bfns but great that period arrived finally - that has to be a big positive for you now! bfp might not be far away with your cycle getting closer to normal!

Hope everyone else is well...mrs. bb is your tww over now? Would be great to hear if you got a bfp....

Afm, back to square one again- the injections made the cyst grow really big so had to be cancelled again. To be honest I'm losing faith in the clinic a bit. Reckon they should have brought me in for a scan on cd 2 to check if it was gone but nurse told me I didn't need to when i called. Feels a bit like I'm going around in circles with different people making different decisions and in the meantime my body is getting put through the mill. Just thought they'd know how to handle pcos cases at this stage. Anyway I'll have to get it drained in the new year if it's not gone and will see what happens then but really have to start getting a bit tougher!

Hi girls, just said I'd check in with ye and give an update. I started on Metformin and clomid. Just did one round and ovulated!!! Am so delighted. Have my fingers n toes crossed for a Christmas bfp! I've looked at the dates and hubby should be home from working abroad around the best possible time for me. Has anyone any recommendations of anything else I can be doing/taking??? I don't want to over do it or get totally hyped up or stressed out thinking about it but any suggestions would be most welcome. Was doing Acupuncture but the last person I found wasn't great at all and felt I was wasting my money.... I'm based in Ennis/Limerick area. :compress :compress :compress

Rogue: Sorry about the cancellation. Hope it will be a different story next cycle. Maybe you need to insist on the CD2 scan. Im not an ascertive person by nature but its often the only way to get stuff done. O:| Fingers crossed hun.x
Bazinga - Thats a step i the right direction at least. Hope the Metformin isn't giving you too many side effects.
The spotting turned into a very long AF -It lasted nearly 10 days. Typically I have 2 days of very heavy painful AF followed by 1-2 days light. this time I had 1 moderate+ followed by 9 light and slight cramping. Used to be in agony for 2 days, assume the chlomid is changng things? OPK tst today was + so fingers crossed. :babydust:

Good luck all, Hopefully we will all have great news before 2011 ends!!
