Hi Girls

how is everyone doing? I'm still having awful hassle trying to get the CP form for my husband from the UK, getting sent from Pillar to Post. One of the people over there told me my tenacity will make me a great adopter! ffs! I didn't know whether to take it as a compliment or cry! Have my medical next tuesday and hope to get all other paper work in on Wednesday (barring the UK form and just keep searching for it).

Kiri going by your ticker it will still take a long time after that!. Great that you and Emma have your forms in.

Jibble hope you are getting the final paper work sorted and will have your little one soon.

How is everyone else doing?

Hi girls

Have been having problems logging on, so sorry I haven't been on in a while.

Jibble, great to hear from you and glad to hear you are still on track to adopt your lo. Best of luck with the remaining paperwork - must be so exciting!

EyesonPrize, sorry to hear you are still having problems with that CP - it took me 6 months to get one of mine but I hope you were able to get the rest of the paperwork together - that will make 4 of us with our applications in right?

No news from me, just trying to plan a few holidays to give me something to look forward to. From reading Rollercoaster there seems to be not much progress on new countries at all which is disappointing, hopefully there will be some movement by the time we are all through our assessment.

Hope everyone is well, thinking of you all :lvs

hi Kiri

Yeah still no luck, its a nightmare. DH had his medical this morning so just need his P60 and I'll drop in our marriage cert to be translated and I can send what I have in next week. Its a few weeks outside the 6 months but I hope its ok. I've been onto HSE Ireland and they gave me more contacts but no one seems ot know in the UK what I am on about. I'm going to ask can he just get a commissioner of oaths or something to say he never was in contact with Social Services during those first few years. Its very frustrating.
I'll be glad when its all in, but it seems like it takes months even when you get the paper work in. In some ways I wish I had of moved quicker but in others I think you do need to get your head around things.

Hope everyone is ok xx

Hi girls how are you all? I've been out of the country the last few weeks and before that so busy but now I'm back and raring to get stuck into operation get us a child! Whichever way that may be! We have an appointment at the end of June to get more blood tests, we've had counselling for DE which we both found so helpful and I'm more than ready to do a cycle so I'm starting to properly look into clinics. On the adoption front the HSE have been on again and want more info. About 9 years ago we travelled around the world for a year and spent 6 months in new Zealand so they want us to get a police check for there which is going to be hard as we had no fixed address as we were living in a camper van. I thought she was going to ask us to get one for every country we visited which is ridiculous as surely they don't ask people for every country they've ever gone on holiday. She said they may come back about the other countries we visited! She keeps saying 'oh you've moved around a lot and had a lot of addresses' but that's going to happen when you've moved away to Uni and travelled, maybe applicants usually have only lived at one address all their lives and never left the country!! Anyway rant over, I suppose we've just got to be glad they're so thorough!!

EOP sorry to hear your having problems with your CP form, it's so frustrating isn't it?! Have the HSE said you can submit the rest of your pack and send on that when it arrives?

Hi kiri have you heard any more from the HSE? I got a copy of a letter that went to them from one of the fertility clinics we attended so at least I know they're starting to come in. Good idea to plan holidays got to have something to look forward to and time really does fly!

Jibble hope your well on your way to bringing your baby home, that's so exciting!

Hi Emma have you heard anything else? Hope alls well with you.

Hope everyone else is well. I've more time now to come on so will be in touch more xx

Hi Snowy

Welcome back, this is just a quick post as I'm heading off myself for work tomorrow but will post properly when I come back.

That's mad re the CP clearance you have to get, I have moved a lot too (4 different addresses in one year) but sure as you say, I was living in house shares so you tend to move around a lot more. Lukily most of mine were in the same area though so the one CP did for them all.
Glad to hear things are moving forward with the DE and good luck with choosing a clinic, there are so many out there, but sure choice is good!
Haven't heard anything back from the HSE myself, will probably give them a call over the Summer to see what the story is.

Talk soon :wv

Hey girls - sorry havent been here in ages - work has been mental lately and I can't complain really as it takes my mind off things ! ...

EOP we also had long delay to get CP form for DH, some we received a week after requesting it and some we had to explain over and over again what we needed from them... hopefully you will get yours soon..

Snowy good luck with DE let us know how you get on..... it's mad they asking you for a police check for New zealand hopefully you'll get that soon enough...

Kiri - I was wondering lately if you had heard back from them, it really is a case of no news is good news (I think anyway...) but no harm in giving them a quick call I suppose.

AFM, they have also been in touch since asking more questions about our fertility treatment etc I think they want to meet and talk to us before putting us on the waiting list for the preparation course - such a long process. Realistically it will prob next year before we start the preparation course ...

Hope everyone is ok :wv

Hi girls

Well I have spent the last week playing phone tag with the HSE. When I spoke to them 3weeks ago I had asked her to put all the additional stuff we needed to do into a letter as i knew I wouldn't remember it clearly by the time I got home, but there was no letter so I've been trying to contact them to clarify and leaving messages & then got a message from someone on thurs to say the director had made a decision and she would tell me when we managed to speak. So I don't know what that means. Hopefully I get to speak to her tomorrow.

Kiri I would call over the summer and make sure they have everything they need, someone I know who has been through this said that doctors/consultants can take a while to reply back to the HSE and it can delay things but the HSE won't let you know this so if you phone them you can then chase the doctor/consultant to hurry them along. The fertility one's are usually good at replying back as they're used to getting letters regarding people applying for adoption but other doctors can be slower.

Emma mad they want to meet you regarding the fertility treatment, I imagined it would come up at some point but not that they would call you in specifically to talk about it. When did you do your last cycle, it wasn't that long ago was it, is that why they want to talk to you to make sure you're ready to move on I wonder?!

Hi Snowy - any luck then today ? Did you get to talk to them and find out what she meant by 'the director had made a decision' ?? Sounds very odd alright.

As for us, our last tx was this time last year so a while back and we have nothing planned now but we've been talking to s*ms at the start of the year for a review consultation and at the time we didn't know what we would do, so just wondering if they just said that we were going to go for more tx with them. I wasnt really ready for the phonecall though she was lovely and said she just wanted to know where we were at and if we wanted to try again so it was a nice chat. Sounded like she really wanted to meet and talk more, I suppose they did say at the information meeting that fertiliy treatment was one of the reason why they would get in touch before progressing our file so I think it really is a case of making sure we're ready to move on..

Isn't mad though how so far none of us seem to have had the same progress ! Kiri you havent heard since January/feb, Snowy back and forth with them and now the director has made a decision (!!) and as for me looks like fertility treatment is going to be slowing down the process !

Hi emma finally got to speak to the lady today and wires crossed they haven't made a decision on anything namely what is going to be done about getting a police report for our time in new Zealand when we had no fixed address so they need to come back to us on that. We also have to make a list of all the countries we visited in our year travelling and we'll have to eventually get it signed by a solicitor. She said we didn't need to do it yet though.

We did our cycle a year ago too. It is mad how they want to meet with you about it, but I would take it as a good thing as I feel your further ahead in the process because of it. I feel as though me and dh are stil stuck at the form filling stage. It's not great that they're in contact with me a lot! It just means they're missing info or we haven't filled forms properly (their sendinback the police check form for Ireland for us to refill as she said the dates aren't in order tbh I thought we already did this.)

Do you have a date when you'll meet? Hope it all goes well when you do. It will be interesting to hear what they ask.

Oh right know what you mean ... cant believe they didnt make a decision :-8
Did she tell you when she will get back to you ?

We have to ring back in a couple of weeks and decide then when to meet. I will let you know what they said.

We actually also had to refill the police check for Ireland as we didnt include the addresses abroad :-8

Hope you find out soon about NZ.

Hi girls

No news from my side, although I did get a copy of a letter from one of my consultants yesterday that they had sent back to the HSE so they are obviously still gathering info.

Emma, nice to hear from you again, that's mad that they want to meet you re the fertlity treatment. I had a review appointment just before Christmas at S*ms so we are sort of in the same position although I did inform S*ms in March that I wouldn't be doing any more treatment.
It's hard to know how they are approaching it..

Snowy, sounds like crossed wires indeed. They certainly are putting a big emphasis on the paperwork. The worst thing is that there are loads of girls on Rollercoaster who are having to do all the same paperwork again as their Declarations have run out due to not getting referrals on time!

By they way, that Garda Check form was very confusing so it's no wonder loads of people have to redo it.

Deep breaths all round I think girls :lvs

God girls it really is a god damn nightmare all this paper work crapola! I can't believe they want it for your time in NZ, unbelievable. I know they have to be through but it just seems like overkill at times.
I went back to see my counsellor last week hadn't been in months and I have to say felt much better, had a good old cry! I'm going to try see her more often, I have found myself closing up a bit with DH (cause I was feeling if I talk about it it would hurt him as its male factor we have) but she made me realise that he is hurting too anyway and we have to keep the communication open. So that's my plan! Its just the hardest thing ever isn't it, infertility, such a small word but such huge implications.
Hopefully I will get the forms in this week, (I know I said that a few weeks back lol but its difficult!) :o0

Hi girls it does seem never ending doesn't it!

EAP was it you waiting on forms from the UK?! Any luck? Glad counsellor was helpful it really helps to talk to someone sympathetic now and again.

Kiri and Emma hope your both well. Both our referees have received their forms, but one of them told me today that she may be moving abroad with her dh for 3 years so wouldn't be in the country to meet with sw. So I don't know what to do about that! There's always something!!

Hi Snowy

Yeah that was me, after numerous calls and emails I finally found someone who knew what I was talking about. I sent the form directly to her yesterday so hopefully we won't have to wait too long on it. But I've moved around a lot in Ireland so I'd say it'll be months. Left in our marraige cert yesterday to be translated, then its just to fill in the financial stuff and 'hopefully' get it posted this week :o0
bet them make me go to another meeting as I'm outside the 6 months! >:o(
