Roma when I bought mine there were no design ideas on the site but they have since set up a design blog with some fab ideas on it and there is a section where people can submit their own designs-some of the things people have come up with are amazing.

Marylin I ordered 75 of each component - the total cost was €160, including €30 for customs. I didn't bother ordering samples as I'd actually already received an invitation from a friend of mine who also used them so I knew the quality was great. The only thing I would recommend is using a laser printer and making sure what is the minimum paper size it can handle. I ran into some issues with this and nearly tore my hair out until I got it sorted!

Thanks a million, ill look into it again :thnk

Thanks :wv I hope it gets stickied...thought it would have happened by now. Maybe they're waiting to make sure it gets enough interest or something.

Nice one Roma!
That list of links is going to give me lots of google fodder.
We also are doing all of our own invitations, placecards and mass booklets. Also doing my own cake, pew ends, centrepieces and probably flowers.
So I'll get great use from this thread and look forward to seeing it stickied!

Hey Stupidsexyflanders, they are gorgeous. I had intended buying mine tonight but wasn't happy with one aspect of them so said i'd leave it another day or two..When I saw this post earlier, I am now seriously thinking of changing my mind... I know this will prob sound like a silly question but how do you print them, are you given software and did you buy a laser printer or use one from work etc? Yours look perfect and i'm gonna be annoying himself tomorrow with my new find for my perfect invites, thanks to you! :thnk

Should definitely be a sticky! Just to showcase SuperSexyFlanders' invites is enough of a reason! They'd motivate anyone to make their own invites.

We have a laser printer - we got it in Harvey Norman last year for around €140 so you can pick them up fairly cheaply. I knew I was going to be making my own invitations so I wanted to get one but they're handy to have anyway. If we hadn't bought one I would have used one in work on the sly!

I didn't work from a template, I did everything myself using Microsoft Word. Its fairly easy though, all you need to do is change the paper size to whatever your invitation size/RSVP size etc. is and work away from there. I downloaded the font that I used for our names and the "Accommodation" heading cos I wasn't happy enough with any of the preset ones on Word, but thats easy to do too, and free, and there are loads to choose from.

Thanks stupid sexy Flanders last question how easy was it to work with the design? Did u just upload it to word and mess around with it... If it's easy enough to print on with a home printer I might just download my picture but where would I find such artwork most I found online are crap quality... Sorry for all the questions but nearly had a mini meltdown this morning about how late I left these, just couldn't settle for any of the ones I looked at. But I think I'll go with these if I find a nice image online to print on the invite. X

It was fairly handy to work with. I purchased it from www.istockphoto.com - I found it on that site by searching for "damask" and filtering the search to Illustrations only - that will give you loads of results (it won't let me paste link to the results for some reason, but just type "damask" in the search box and click the box for "Illustrations" instead of "All Files" or else you'll end up with photos/videos etc. and a million results!). Once I downloaded it I cropped it to the size I wanted and was able to drop it into the Word document from there using the "Insert Picture" tool.

If you find one you like and are having trouble with manipulating it for Word let me know and I'd be happy to give you some help.
