Well done! Are they the way you imagined, or did you enhance as you went along?

2ndT, a love the style, really pretty! Are you having a similar colourscheme?

thanks akashla. I had something completly different in mind then i saw a template on weddingchicks.com that i liked the style and copied that then came across a few other styles I liked bits of too so this is an imagilmation of about 5! took a while but I got there. and then when id done i asked mums opinion (big mistake) she wasnt mad on them. i had orriginally wanted pink calla lilies on my invites (as this is the flowers im having ) and she said i should have stuck to that so i looked at it again yesterday and come up with this.

what you think girls A B or C

theyl by a third of a ladscape page postcard style no fold

PJs with the iron on diamontied is a brill idea 2nd timer

My wedding candles are a little plain so am thinking of decorating them also with a few diamonities and tiny cala lilies??

The one with the love birds on it would be my fave. My mother has shot down a few of my ideas too, I think at the end of the day it's your wedding so if you really love something just go with it.

Could anyone recommend a good printer to use to make my own invitations with? I'm making pocketfold invites which include three different size inserts. I have all the materials and the documents made ready to print, but I can't seem to find a printer that will feed different size papers without any hassle!!

(I've also posted this on the Old Faithful forum itself to try get as much advice as possible :-))

I prefer C too, but if you wanted you could add in the cala lily (perhaps where you have the infinity symbol bow? or over/under/instead of the heart that the birds are flying with?) But to be honest, i think they're very pretty the way they are.

FYI girls, there's an offer on a fotolia at the moment where you can download images for free (up to 3 a day for a week) - it was perfect for me as I only needed one image for the invitations, but now I have matching ones to play with :)

Try the link - i hope it works! https://us.fotolia.com/Member/Login?login_referer=http%3A%2F%2Fus.fotolia.com%2FMember%2Fpromosub

CTOAGN... i'm borrowing the one that we have at work, we have accounts with a lot of big name manufacturers and so have a lot of their products sitting around gathering dust. I think the one I'm using is the Kodak 6150.

My mam's printer is printing my invitations perfectly so panic over :) Supersexyflanders your invitations are stunning...motivating me to keep going with mine! And Shazza I also prefer C :-)

From my ticker you guys can see I'm on the final stretch and although I've been planning lots of DIY bits with the last year and a half, I've really left alot of it until now...so my advice is if you have an idea get stuck in straight away!

I'm doing my own pocketfold invites (got the pocketfolds from http://www.paperandmore.com...they don't post internationally, but our groomsman is living in the states and posted them over. Cost roughly €90 for 150 pocketfolds!!)

I'm making my bridesmaids faux fur shrugs. Couldn't come across a grey shrug anywhere, so I've ordered the fur and satin lining from ebay. They're probably going to cost around €25 each to get all the materials. Doing lots of bits in the church...had my dad collecting pine cones the other day to spray silver, lol!

An idea I got from an american blog was to place a basket of flip flops beside the dance floor with 'Dancing Shoes' on it! It looked great and I think my girls will really appreciate it! Bought lots of purple flip flops in Penneys over the summer, and I'm spraying a wicker basket to match my colours of purple and grey!

This thread is a brill idea...starting out I was disappointed at the lack of DIY inspiration that was irish based and I know we're as creative as the rest :-)

I'm delighted that it's working out well for you cantthinkofagoodname!
If you get a chance, post up a pic, and inspire the rest of us :)

I'm totally stealing the dancing shoes idea, maybe get some flip flops and some cheap ballet flats?
Or some slipper socks with the grippy soles?

I'm beginning to wish i could DIY my own band - i'm having so much trouble getting in contact with them!

I'm 2 steps away from printing my save the date cards!

(hope that works!)

I spent about 4 hours designing them yesterday :)

The stylised orchid design will also feature in the actual invitation inserts, and probably the ceremony booklets.
I can also print it on the envelopes.

I'm going to print off a separate set in French for H2B's side of the family...

Has anyone diy'd their own bouquet using brooches, buttons, felt/fabric flowers, old jewellery, trinkets etc? I'm not sure what to use for the base of it, as in, what do I attach everything to? Any ideas? Also, do you think it'd look really weird if only the bouquets and boutinierres (or however you spell it) were done like this, and then fresh flowers used for arrangements in church and reception?
