Motivation thread for losing weight...

Gosh it must be the weather or something, we are all struggling :o(.

My slippery descent started on Monday - had 7 of those Aero Biscuits!!! And then yesterday I gave up on Lent and everything and had nearly a full box of Roses that were in the house :weep. Talk about falling off the wagon - I might as well have dived off it from 20 feet in the air and done 3 somersaults. Something like 5,000 calories in 2 days :o(

Just was feeling down in the dumps - think it's because of AF although last month I was in great form and raring to stick with it.

Anyway today is a new day so I'm off spinning at lunch time and no more choccies. I'm dreading weighing myself at the weekend already though :action34

+1 on the weather ruining the diets. Thought it was supposed to encourage eating light and healthy but I think thats a crock of s**t

Well it's a good question because I don't know if the lbs are going just because of my diet or because of the spinning too. But our instructor says we could lose 400-500 cals per session - we do a half hour but it's really fast and intense - I literally start dripping sweat onto the floor by about 7/8 minutes in. She's really brilliant though because she trained in America and from people I've spoken to it's a lot better than 45-60 minute sessions. I've started wearing a heart monitor to make sure I'm in the fat burning zone so not sure if that would help.

I know what you mean though - I keep measuring my calves because I certainly don't want them getting any bigger :weep

Are you based in Limerick Zelda? Spinning seems to be all the rage here at the moment!

Girls,

I am currently involved in a spinning challenge to raise money for charity. Anyone interested in putting a team together for it? We would need four people and to keep a bike going for 12 hours between the four of us on June 16th.

Good motivation and loads of time for training as its not for ages. Its in the Delta sports centre in Limerick. I will be going up from Cork for it.

Was in Dublin thurs to Sun- thought I ate all around me but sneaky weigh in this morning and managed to stay the same. Still up two from last week so need to work on that.

Sorry for the rush- not meant to be on WOL during the day :o( :o( :o( :o(

skybusgirl I PM'd you :wv

Ok, I am offically annoyed >:o(. And I have lost weight. Which is why I'm annoyed.

So I ate LOADS of rubbish last week, my chocolate binge didn't stop until Thursday and I didn't even exercise that day. Although I did spin 3 times last week.

And I lost 2 lbs.

How the heck did I lose weight???? I KNOW I shouldn't complain, but the weeks I starve I lose 1 lb at most, the week I go crazy eating rubbish I lose 2? It doesn't make sense :weep.

I did measure my body fat though and it's still 35% which is way too high so I'm going to start monitoring that too.

So how does that work B2be? Does everyone spin for 3 hours or is it 1/2 hour on, 1/2 hour off? And is there any criteria for resistance or speed? I would love to try something like this but I'm not sure I'd be able for it :-8. I am usually completely knackered after a 30 min class.

I have lost the 2 I have put on so back to where I was .

Well done skybus girl- you must have been making wise decisions in between egg nibbling!!

We shared a small egg between us as we knew it could be very damaging!!

Was at a wedding at the weekend- ordered the melon, had half the soup, had the seabass for main with the steamed veggies and no mash and skipped desert- didn't feel too bad at all! Drank white wine with dinner loaded with Ice to keep it cold and water it down. Switched to vodka and light cranberry juice after that and ended up sipping water by the end of the night!

It must have worked!!

36 weeks to my wedding and 2.5 weeks to getting fitted and ordering my dress!! Wonder if I could drop another 3 pounds by then?!!

:eek
