  • The web and my wedding.

    Thursday 27 August 2022 - Advice - Tags: stationery, save-the-date-rsvp-online-planning

Our wedding is turning out to be a complicated affair. I am American and the main ceremony and reception will be in America, but we are also having a reception in Kilkenny (where my fianc is from) which will be nearly as big as the one in the States. We are finding that there is really no easy way to relay this information to our 200 guests.

We have decided to do the bulk of our planning online, since it is really the only way to bring our wedding together in one point (and address). I don't want people to have to pay international postage to send RSVP's to America from Ireland, or vice versa. We have set up a website where our guests can RSVP, get information on both receptions and contact us for information. We have also decided that we need to send Save the Dates, and are going to try to do it over e-mail. The only concern I have it the older guests who don't even own a computer (ie the grandparents). So I think we will have to send a couple paper Save the Dates. I have been doing research on the best way to word the online RSVP in the invitations and I found these tips from the Budget Savvy Bride blog (which is great by the way): On one side of the RSVP card is:

"The favor of a reply is requested by . Please RSVP on our wedding website: www.ourweddingwebsitename.com"

On the other side of the card is:

TO RSVP: Navigate your web browser to www. ourweddingwebsitename.com. Click the bottom left square labeled 'RSVP' to submit your RSVP. Fill in the information in the appropriate boxes: your names and the number of people attending. If you will not be attending, please put 'NO' in the '# Attending?' box If you are unable to go to our website, please call Jessica at to RSVP. Thank you! We look forward to celebrating with you!"

You will receive an e-mail with the RSVP info, and then it is up to you to keep a spreadsheet of the information!

  • I found my dream wedding...

    Wednesday 26 August 2022 - Uncategorized - Tags: italian-weddings

...and it's amazing. I am obsessed with all things Italian so when Karen showed me the amazing artfool.com (site of the event geniuses Matthew Robbins and Jack Myers) and I found this PERFECT wedding in Orvieto, Italy I almost fell out of my chair. It is exactly what I would want for my wedding in a perfect world, where money was no object and my 77 year old grandparents would be able to travel across the world to attend. I'm not complaining about my wedding... but come on just look at it...

  • An IKEA Wedding

    Tuesday 25 August 2022 - Uncategorized - Tags: ikea

Ok...I haven't been yet (I've been too scared), but after having a browse through the IKEA website I really think you could almost do your whole wedding decor in the place. They have all those necessities like vases, candle holders and even fabric...for cheap!

  • Family Wedding

    Monday 24 August 2022 - Uncategorized - Tags: family-wedding

It is always interesting to see how wedding vendors plan their own wedding, I found this wedding of florist, Sarah Matteson of Spruce Floral, on Style Me Pretty. It is just what I would want for a small, intimate wedding.

  • Best of High Street for Bridesmaids

    Friday 21 August 2022 - Uncategorized - Tags: high-street

With 8 bridesmaids choosing 8 different dress styles, finding dresses for everyone has been a bit of a challenge (to say the least). Our wedding is only 2 months away and we have found that the procrastinators of the group (which is about 3 of them) are too late to order dresses from the bridal shops, so its high street or nothing... But it turns out there are some great options for bridesmaids in places like Debenhams, Coast and Karen Millen and on some American sites. Although you might have to search a bit harder, the high street is usually cheaper and as long as you can make sure no one will show up at your wedding in your bridesmaids dress, is a great alternative to the standard bridesmaid’s dresses. These are some of my favs from the high street:

Above from J Crew. Dresses below from Coast.

Above from Monsoon.Below by Nicole Miller.

    Above from Karen Millen.

  • Thinking about winter... already

    Tuesday 18 August 2022 - Uncategorized - Tags: winter

Even though the autumn issue of B has barely hit Eason’s shelves, Karen and I are starting to think about the winter issue. We want the next issue to be fresh and warm and to stay away from the bog standard holiday themes. I found these amazing colour palettes, which I think would be great for any winter event.

  • Pretty fonts

    Monday 17 August 2022 - Uncategorized - Tags: fonts

I am trying to decide what to do for our wedding programs, either get them made or do them ourselves... In my research I found scrapnfonts.com, a great site for designing your invitations or programs (or mass booklets). You can find loads of fonts, brushes and printable projects for weddings. All you do is download them (for a small fee) and they are yours to use as you please! These are some of my favourites.

  • Living Room

    Thursday 13 August 2022 - Uncategorized - Tags: reception

This is so cool. Even though is it not very practical and would never work in most climates, I just love the different textures of the couches, accented with the bright colours.

The event was done by Details Details, an American event management company, from the blog Style Me Pretty.

  • Sneak Peek! Autumn Cover

    Tuesday 11 August 2022 - Uncategorized - Tags: autumn-b-magazine

    Hi all,

My apologies for my lazy blogging lately-we are sending the mag to the printers today! I wanted to give a little look at our new front cover. It is beautiful. We have to say a big thank you to Jose Villa, the kind photographer in America who allowed us to use the image of a wedding he shot of Chelsea and Tec.

If you want to pre-order your copy, click here!

Ok that's enough self-promotion for one day...

  • Autumn Issue of B

    Tuesday 4 August 2022 - Uncategorized - Tags: b-magazine

Sorry for my absence. The autumn issue will be out in a couple weeks, which makes us B mag girls’ very busy people. I know I am the editor, and a tad bias, but I just have to say that this issue is looking to be the best yet. We have so many awesome features, I am so excited about them! As a little taster...

We will be featuring the best of Tuscany. I was there in May (where my fianc proposed) and decided to write about my favourite experiences. I was in Florence and San Felice Winery (a-m-a-z-i-n-g).

    Barcelona Fashion Week...enough said.

One of my favourite daily doses of inspiration is the Classic Bride Blog, which is why I was thrilled to get the Classic Bride herself in the magazine!

And finally (for now). Cakes from Martha Stewart!
