  • All Part of the Job

Tuesday 23 February 2022 - DIY, Fashion, Real Weddings - Tags: diy, gold, cream

It's my job to know whats going on in the wedding world. It's my job to sift through the wedding blogs daily, to know the trends and know what photographers are on the 'it list'...and if you were to ask ...its my favourite part of the job. I love seeing how much talent is out there. And just when I thought I'd seen it all, I find someone totally new and totally amazing, like today. I came across Jill Thomas, who is responsible for these stunning wedding photos. Of course it doesn't hurt that the bride is beautiful and stylish. Oh and...her mother made her dress...yea...

  • Rustic Wedding at Kilshane House

Thursday 18 February 2022 - Real Weddings - Tags: None

This wedding will be making an appearance in the summer issue of B Magazine, but I was way too excited to wait that long, so this is sneak peak! The detail and thought that went into creating the vintage/rustic theme is perfect. The bride Kate flawlessly brought together the dress, flowers, headband, photos and even the car! The photographer was Darren Purcell who really captured the feel and tone the bride wanted. It just goes to show that having an overall vision for a wedding and making sure every supplier is on board makes a world of difference. Thank you Darren from Visionary Photography for sending it in. The reception was held at Kilshane House in Tipperary.

  • A night out for weddings

    Wednesday 17 February 2022 - News - Tags: awards

As you probably already know, WOL celebrated it's 10th birthday on Monday night at the Crowne Plaza in Santry and the Awards were part of the big bash. It was a fabulous evening to bring all the elite in the wedding industry together under one roof, with everyone dressed to really impress! Here are some highlights.

wol1Table 18 were the big winners of the evening. Everyone at their table won in their category. Including White Orchid who won Best Overall Wedding Supplier! Others in this picture; Love Letters, Frog Prince Wedding Days and French Touch Florist. wol2

  • Pink Week! Here and there.

Friday 12 February 2022 - Decor Inspiration, Colour Palettes - Tags: table-decor, purple, pink

This  is a great example of the 'pink splash' or a tasteful dotting of pink with rather neautral colours. I think it makes things a bit more exciting, without going overboard. It still manages to come across warm and welcoming. I found this on the very talented photographer, Jessica Claire's blog. Flowers by Kate Holt from Flower Wild.

  • Pink Week! The kind you can eat.

Thursday 11 February 2022 - Colour Palettes - Tags: dessert, pink, wedding-food, food

Any type of decoration that is adorable AND edible is a definite winner. Amy Atlas is one of the industry's premier dessert stylists (yes thats a real thing) and its easy to see why from this Valentine's display. The only issue I can see is that you would think the food was too cute to eat...but I am sure you could get over it.

  • Pink Week! Summer Shades.

    Wednesday 10 February 2022 - Uncategorized - Tags: None

This pink combination would be perfect for a summer beach wedding (pretend for a second that your wedding is somewhere not in Ireland). The peach accents really tie is altogether in a way that is light and fresh. I have an eternal love affair with peonies (the flowers) which were out of season for my October wedding, I contemplated waiting till they were in season to get married but h2b said the floral arrangements are no reason to postpone the biggest day of your life. But if you are lucky enough to have them in season for your big day, I hope you have sense enough to use them at least somewhere! Just kidding....but seriously you should.

Clockwise from top left: "archer" font; drill two holes in a seashell, then loop ribbon through the holes and add your rings for the seaworthy ring "pillow" from the issue; refreshing layered ice cream and sorbet cake; beach tablescape (click here for our clip art); invitation and map from Gregg and Mark's seaside wedding; seashell salt cellar; coral-clad bridesmaids await their cue at Lindsay and Reed's Bahama's wedding in our destination weddings issue; our seaweed print inspiration; a gauzy gown from MSW's Spring 2007 issue; a lush bouquet of pink peonies.

  • Pink Week! Pink as it should be.

Tuesday 9 February 2022 - Colour Palettes, Photoshoots - Tags: vera-wang, photoshoot, pink

I absolutely love everything about this photo shoot from Style Me Pretty. It perfectly marries pinks, reds, yellows, orange and black, which could clash , but don' all. It works flawlessly.

  • Pink Week! Parisian style.

    Monday 8 February 2022 - Uncategorized - Tags: None

Because Valentines Day is a mere six days away I thought we should all celebrate with a week of loves most beautiful (because red just doesn't do it for me). Pink is on the up, from its dark past of tacky and brash (ie Jordan's other wedding). It is now the premier colour of all that is fresh and stylish. This combo has a delightful Parisian flavour, so lovely! From the blog Australia Entertains (by the Hostess with the Mostess).

  • Glamour in Cork

    Friday 5 February 2022 - Real Weddings - Tags: gary-barrett

The bride in this wedding is simply stunning. I love the almost 1920's/retro look she has with the hair and make-up, it all looks so effortless, yet totally perfect. The wedding was at the Fota House, Cork and the reception was in Barnabrow House, the photographer was the exceptionally talented Gary Barrett.
