Yep...the title says it all. When I found this dress on Style Me Pretty I knew this was it...this was wedding dress perfection. And it totally figures, as it's designed by none other than Oscar de la Renta. The whole couture thing may make it a tad out of reach for most brides, but I really think we should all take a couple moments of silence to appreciate the sheer beauty of this perfect garment. Ready...
The rest of this wedding by Jasmine Star is pretty amazing too. Check it out on Style Me Pretty.

How stunning are these invitations from The Paper Salon? I love how ornate each design is and I LOVE how they incorporate my two favourite things...flowers and lace! The use of different textures creates an extremely luxurious and classic feel. Having one of these little pretties turn up at your guest's doors would be the best first impression your wedding could ask for!

In honour of the new DIY thread on Old Faithful I was inspired to put up a DIY post. One of the Wollies mentioned a photo wall, which is an amazing idea. And it's so easy! Here is the DIY Photo Wall project from the amazing vintage bridal blog, ruffledblog.com,
What you’ll need:
- Plywood
- (2) 2’x3’ Wood beams
- Sawhorse
- Ruler/Measuring tape
- Hammer and nails
- Wood screws
- Handheld jigsaw
- Handheld drill
- Mod Podge
- Paintbrush
- Waterproof sealant
- Vintage picture frame (I got mine at a thrift store)
- Vintage wallpaper (eBay)
- Floor molding (optional)
Instructions:
Step 1: The plywood usually comes in a 4’x8’ sized sheet. To make it easier, have the store cut the top for you - we asked for a 19” cut to make the final height 6’5”.
Step 2: Lay your plywood flat on the sawhorse. Measure your picture frame. Make sure you start your measurements near the middle of the frame itself - you don’t want the plywood to show on the inside of the frame, nor would you want gaps around the outside of the frame! Decide where you want your frame to be, and draw your measurements on the wood.
Step 3: Use a drill bit large enough to make a hole the width of the jigsaw blade in all corners of your measurements on the plywood. Now use the handheld jigsaw to cut out the entire shape.
Step 4: Stand the plywood upright. Cut each of your beams to about 5’ high. Measure and cut a 70 degree angle off the top of the beam. Hold this up to your wood frame until the angle lies completely flat against the block. Now take a ruler and place it horizontally on the ground, against the bottom of the beam, and use it to draw a line against the wood. Cut with the jigsaw - this will make the bottom of the beam level with the ground. Using the excess wood, cut (2) 10” pieces to use as mounting blocks. On the “back” of the frame, nail a mounting block onto each side. Make sure you hammer the nails through the front, so the heads are flush with the wood. Set the (2) beams aside for later.
Step 5: Lay your frame back onto the sawhorse. Measure and cut your wallpaper to size. Working with one strip at a time, brush your mod podge (what I had on-hand, but if you have wallpaper paste, that would probably work well, too) onto the top third of the wood. Line up and press your wallpaper onto it. Run over the surface with a ruler or other flat object to make sure there are no air pockets. Repeat for the middle and bottom third and all remaining strips of wallpaper until the entire front of the wood is covered. Let dry for at least 24 hours.
Step 6: Brush a thin layer of waterproof sealant over the entire surface of the wallpaper. Let dry for at least 24 hours.
Step 7: Optional: We really wanted to make it look like a piece of an actual wall, so we cut (2) 4’ long pieces of floor molding and attached one to the top and bottom of the wood frame, with Gorilla Glue.
Step 8: Stand the wood frame upright. Take one of the 5’ beams that you cut earlier and line it up against one of the mounting blocks. Drill 2 pilot holes (one on top, one 4 to 6 inches directly below the first hole) through the beam and partly into the mounting block. Next, screw the wood screws into the pilot holes. We used a 2” screw for the top (the thinner part of the beam) and a 2 3/4” screw for the bottom. Repeat for the other side.
Step 9: Mount your picture frame over the hole. Whew, you’re done! Now take your new “photobooth” somewhere pretty and snap away!

There’s a certain satisfaction knowing you are shopping where the celebrities shop, there is even more satisfaction knowing you are shopping in a place where all your deepest Mad Men style fantasies can come true! Oh blessed day that the B Magazine gals stumbled upon Camille’s Boutique in Malahide. We really did go with the intention of research (you know...because we feel it’s our duty to all you lovely Wollies...), but the dresses were too amazing, so we simply had to buy one or two...or four...
Camille opened her boutique last year and has since made quite the stylish splash on the Irish fashion scene, kitting out clients such as Kathryn Thomas, Amanda Brunker and Jenny Masterson (to name but a few). She is one of the exclusive stockists for the vintage inspired brand Stop Staring! which was voted the best line for plus size women, by Oprah's O Magazine! Celebs such as Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian regularly sport Stop Staring! dresses for their exquisite slimming power. No matter what your shape or size, these dresses will make you feel and look fantastic (and we are not just saying that because we bought 6 of them).
Camille has just launched the British line, Mina and also does custom gown design and can create fab wedding dresses. So if you haven’t found the perfect gown yet, drop by and speak to her about creating your very own design!

This week the girls from B went shopping for wedding jewellery (ahh tis a tough job we have). Here's some of the pieces we found.
Our first stop was the Aladdin's Cave of wedding jewellery, Gollum's Precious in the Powerscourt Centre. Oisin was an absolute gent and took time out from his delicate work of changing stones, tightening clasps and what have you to show us around the shop. Gollum's Precious has an array of very different pieces, and what's great about it is, if you like something but maybe want to change a diamond to a pearl, or shorten a pair of earrings, or add a brooch to a necklace, they can do it for you! They also work with various bridal shops in the area to rent out some pieces so you can try them on with your dress. Brilliant.
Various broochs at Gollum's Precious, they can even make them into hair clips if you fancy!Crystal necklaces: Left - Vintage €138, Right - Modern €252
Clockwise from left: Various hair flowers, Silver headpiece with crystal detail, €38, Three-flower comb, €38, Swarovski pearl and crystal headpiece, €86
Pearl vintage style swarovski crystal drop earrings, €69, Swarovski three-strand bracelet, €136, Swarovski pearl and crystal necklace, €86, Swarovski crystal bangle €610
Black and silver ball necklace, €44, AMAZING champagne ring €109 (If anyone who knows me is reading this btw, I love this ring, HINT HINT)
A quest for jewels wouldn't be complete without a trip into our friends in Jenny Vander. There's not much I can say to explain this place, you just have to see it for yourself (Also, PLUG, keep your eyes open for the shoot in the next edition of B mag, Jenny Vander kindly lent us some stunning vintage pieces to shoot in it. One of the necklaces is to die for...and by that I mean I honestly would have died for it)

There are so many things to love about this vintage inspired London wedding by Marianne Taylor Photography. I love the bride's style (she wore a 1950's vintage dress!) I love the soft, dreamy nature of the photography and I love the reception venue...oh and the centrpieces...oh and the groom's cool suit. If I were to get married in London I would want a wedding just like this one...
The couple are Emily and Owen, you can see more of their amazing wedding on Marianne's blog.

In case you haven't heard the best wedding news ever, let me enlighten you, Tara Fay, Ireland's premier bespoke wedding planner will be holding a wedding masterclass at Solis Lough Eske Castle Hotel in Donegal on September 26th and 27th!
So let me break this down...this means you can get wedding tips and advice from Ireland's best wedding planner at one of Ireland's bestest 5 star venues (and WeddingsOnline.ie Wedding Venue of the Year)...it's a no brainer. Oh and Joanne (the WOL Customer Service Manager) and I will be there too! I will be the girl grinning like a little school girl in the front row.
So here is an interview with the master herself, Tara Fay of Xena Productions.
What is your job exactly?
I am a wedding planner, the best way to describe what I do would be to say, I am your stage manager and you as the client are my directors. So I will take direction from you, but help and guide you in your decisions, but ultimately it is always your decision, as it’s your wedding!
How long have you been in wedding planning?
I set up Xena Productions in 1997 when I returned from Los Angeles where I worked with a party planner there, on weddings, parties and events all over California. I was the first company In Ireland to specialize in weddings and private parties.
What do you love most about your job?
Even though I work on all types and sizes of events, I love weddings the most. You are sharing in one of the most important life events of your client. I still keep in touch with loads of clients and get sent photos of new babies etc.
What do you think every bride should know before they start planning a wedding?
That it’s their wedding, so take advice but it’s your decision ultimately. Remember to enjoy it!
What’s the biggest mistake you see brides and grooms make?
Trying to do too much and keep too many people happy, that they forget about themselves and the commitment they are making to each other, and it’s only the week of the wedding that it hits them.
Why did you decide to team up with Solis Lough Eske to hold a wedding masterclass?
I think Lough Eske is such amazing venue (in fact it has been chosen as one of the most romantic venues in Ireland to get married and will feature on UTV next year), it really has tailored itself specifically for weddings, I would be hard pushed to find fault with it and believe me, I have looked! The fact that they are so focused on weddings and minding the couples gives me such confidence to partner with them for this masterclass. Also the venue is so relaxing it will enable the couples or the brides to relax and ask the questions they really want to.
What will the class entail (besides a chance to learn from the best!)?
Attendees will really have time to spend with each expert as there are times assigned for mini seminars, also the fact that each expert is on site for a day or two, will give couples the chance to ask questions face to face or come back and ask questions later, I always find couples remember the most important question five minutes after a meeting.
Will there be any tips for the budget conscious bride?
Each expert will be including budget and costs in their presentations, an amazing opportunity for brides and grooms to pick the brains of some of the industry’s best.
What are some practical wedding planning tips that attending brides will learn?
The hotel itself will talk people through planning a menu, stationary and calligraphy expert will talk through ordering the invitations and the time involved. I will be giving an overall planning masterclass and will be available to answer questions over both days. So in essence, it’s nearly a one to one consultation for each couple at the masterclass.
The girls in B Magazine are doing the shopping so you don't have to! This week we were on the mad hunt for bridal shoes.
Our mission was simple, go into every high street shop on Grafton Street and route around till we found the absolute best bridal shoes. After a cup of coffee, an iced tea and a total disregard for the comfort of our shoe model Karen’s feet, I think we managed it.
So the below are the cream of the bridal shoe crop, and our picks for the best in high street fashion.
Shoes from Office on Grafton Street
Turquoise shoes by Office €95
Rose shoes by Ted Baker €110
Barratts
All shoes by Dolcis ranging from €55-60
Flip Flops €50
Prices correct at time of publishing.

I'm in the middle of putting together the fashion feature for the winter issue of B. I just came across Jim Hjelm's newest collection and wow! I am really love the entire thing, but here are a couple of my favourites (stay tuned for the next B for the rest!)
Few things can brighten this dreary Monday, but these dresses from Marchesa are giving it a valiant effort. I found them on my favourite British wedding blog OMG I'm Getting Married.I love the details, texture and silhouettes and think they might just be worth a trip to New York to get one.
