The girls from B Mag headed to the Living floor of Brown Thomas yesterday for their annual press day. We learned a lot about many new products, but of course like bees to honey we were drawn to the Vera Wang home ware collection. We never could say no wedding couture...and I guess it translates to dishes as well. Her designs, just like her wedding dresses, manage to tread the line between classic and modern in a way most designers can only dream of! Here are a couple of my favs...
I registered for the Vera Wang naturals collection for my wedding, so I will admit I am a bit biased...but I love them!
I know we don't often think of Ireland as a destination wedding location, but guess what?! It is! And Danielle and Evan's wedding shot by the very talented (WOL photographer of the year) Peter Rowen is a great example. Danielle and Evan are from San Diego but came all the way to Waterford Castle to tie the knot in an intimate ceremony with just the bridesmaid, groomsmen (who doubled as the officiant), Peter and the videographer. What a gorgeous wedding!

Oh the details. Oh the adorable, wanna-eat-them-up-with-a-spoon details. This wedding by David McClelland is perfection. Not only is the photography amazing but the way the wedding is styled and executed is flawless. There are no shortage of inspirating and beautiful ideas in this wedding! And everyone looks like they are having such a great time, I'm so glad I found this wedding on David's blog. And congrats to Alex and Sarah on such a fabulous wedding day!

Vintage has always scared me a bit. I love the idea of it, but I just have trouble seeing how it can work for the average bride. That was until some very lovely wedding peeps told me about The Goddess Room in Greystones. One look at their web site and I was sold. I feel like I could easily go vintage if it was as accessible as the Goddess Room makes it. I mean...just look at these amazing couture dresses.
Check out more from the Goddess Room on their web site.
I love this wedding I found on the One Fab Day blog by The Mastersons. It's soft, sweet and beautifully captured. The couple are Jen and Nick who are from Chicago but travelled to the Ritz Carlton hotel in Enniskerry to say 'I do'. And even though it rained cats and dogs, the couple say the day was perfect from start to finish.

Aoife and Deirdre at the recently opened Bridal Lounge have made an epic splash in the Irish wedding industry. Their modern style and incredible talent has given them a name synonymous with wedding perfection, which is why when they sent me this stunning engagement shoot I knew I had to share. Absolutely beautiful!

I'll admit I am slightly obsessed with The Brooklodge...especially for someone who has never even been to Brooklodge. But everything I hear about the stunning country house hotel points to the fact that it is amazing! Making a visit is definitely on the top of my to-do list. The ivy covered building and understated scenery makes me think a romantic palette would set the tone perfectly.

You really can't beat the location of The Clarence. Right on the Quays, city centre with spectacular views, it really is the epitome of city centre chic.I think the perfect palette for The Clarence would take inspiration from the beautiful Dublin skyline and the stunning exterior of the hotel. Something with deep colour and stylish embellishment.

Solis Lough Eske Castle Hotel is one of my favourite venues in the world. I LOVE it! (And not just because I spent my mini-moon there.) I think it's romantic, quaint and the ideal venue for an Irish wedding. So I decided to use it as the first muse for our newest venture, the 'venue inspiration board'. The 'venue inspiration board' takes a wedding location in Ireland and builds a wedding theme/concept around it to help brides get ideas for their own wedding. I imagine Solis Lough Eske as the perfect canvas for a modern elegance theme. Something that pays tribute to the fairy tale castle wedding, with a chic and stylish edge.

Little bird cake toppers are one of the cutest trends to hit weddings this year (maybe ever...). I mean just look at them! We've received a couple calls from brides wondering where to get them. So I did a ittle research and Etsy.com is full of them! I didn't find any Irish suppliers, but if you know of any let me know!

I was spending some time on the Budget Savvy Bride's blog and saw that she made a wedding montage of her wedding theme, colours, etc. I am a really visual person, so it is great to see how things will look side by side and as a whole. Obviously the montage is just your basic ideas and every good bride knows that ideas are anything but concrete, but it's nice to have a personal template for your wedding. Something you can come back to for inspiration and something that can keep you from getting sidetracked! You can find images on blogs and wedding websites. I got most of mine from theknot.com (because they literally have thousands of photos of everything you could possibly imagine) and the blogs Style me Pretty, Snippet and Ink (great for colour swatches and montages) and The Wedding Channel.
My head is filled with ideas and there are so many things I want! I made a couple montages before with different colours (and some of the same images) but blue is my final decision! I am really trying to reign myself in and stick to blues and cream. I think things could get very circus-like if I don't keep it simple.
Few things are to me as elegant and beautiful as a veil. I love the symbolism of it, I love that the only appropriate time to wear a white veil is at your wedding. And I love how it makes a bridal look come together like nothing else can. It doesn't matter if you are a style fiend or as traditional as they come, there is a veil for everyone. These are my favourites.
Excuse me for my absence the last week. Things have been CRAZY to get the summer issue of B off to the printers. But I am happy to say it's gone...and we were never so happy to see it go. With 100 extra pages we are chomping at the bit to get it back! It will be in our grubby little hands early next week. WOOO HOOO! So now that things are a little quieter (well as quiet as things ever get in WeddingsOnline.ie) I thought I would give a sneak peak of the summer cover!
The photo is by the amazingly talented girls at Belathee Photography.
Found this summery lemon colour palette on Snippet and Ink. It's perfect for a summer wedding!

I came across Belathee Photography on my daily trawl through wedding blogs. I knew instantly that the unique boutique photography style would be perfect for our summer cover, so I emailed owners Dorothee and Anabel who responded within hours and immediately started compiling options for me. The two were an absolute pleasure to work with and I am so thankful that we were able to use their work on our cover (see previous post). So to say thanks I thought I would show one of their stunning weddings that was featured on Style Me Pretty (and also happens to be the wedding of Il Divo's David Miller!). This wedding is so adorable...and chic...and cool and all the other adjective for absolutely amazing! Oh and guess what? The two are available to shoot weddings in Ireland! http://www.belathee.com/
